The Saffron Indian Restaurant reviews
70The best Indian in Tasmania easily. Authentic and absolutely delicious! Excellent customer service and attention to every detail. Thank You
Wonderful Indian restaurant in little Hobart. Lovely staff and beautiful location. Very family friendly and polite. Highly recommended
Very authentic, welcoming staff and absolutely delicious food best vindaloo I have had since 2003! I wish you had a 6 star rating
We had Parantha’s in the afternoon lol even though it was in the breakfast menu, yet they made for us.
5 star customer service.
5 star food quality.
5 star to reasonable pricing.
5 star to dessert from the house.
Thanks guys
Best biryani in Hobart. It tastes really like an Indian biryani. Never had such a good biryani in Hobart before. They also use bio degradable take away containers and spoons.
We have eaten at many Indian restaurants all over the world as it is one of our favourite cuisines, and Saffron is one of the best for flavour. Decor and atmosphere were good but where this restaurant shines is the food and that’s what matters. We had tandoori chicken and lamb bhuton which we paired with saffron rice, garlic bread and chilli pickles, my taste buds are still singing. The flavour sensation will leave me talking about this restaurant for a while. Service was excellent, again well above the norm. Well done Saffron for truly making this a flavour feast for us.
What a great find had the best curry on Saturday night being from Sydney we really didn’t know where to eat but stumbled upon this place just beautiful the staff very friendly and very clean thanks so much for a wonderful experience.
I wish there was a 6 star option for Saffron Indian Restaurant! Following an awards event at Henry Jones Art Hotel on Saturday night I was part of a group of 10 friends who had overlooked making a booking for an evening meal. It was around 8.45pm by the time we left the event and after being turned away by two other establishments (big mistake!) we were welcomed with open smiles by the beautiful team at Saffron. The restaurant was near empty as the staff were packing up after dinner service but without hesitation a table was quickly pulled together, a banquet menu was ordered and the Janz flowed. The level of service offered here was absolutely exemplary with every request being met and delicious food being offered. The biggest regret we had was not being able to take away the left overs of the amazing food. This experience was one which reminded me what the true definition of the word hospitality means. Just superb.
Food was delicious but price was bit high according to the quantity they served. So either change the price or serve a bit more that should be enough for a kid at least. Thanks
My girlfriend and I needed a quiet meal on a Monday night in Hobart. This place was perfect, relaxed atmosphere, delicious food, beautiful staff and the place was immaculate. We could not fault a thing. Thanks so much guys, see you on our next trip to Tas
Super tasty food, with quiet, friendly and efficient service. All in a great location with easy access
Hi I am quite disappointed with their service and food taste is well below average. Their service level is par below and I don't think they deserve the prices that they charge at all. It seems to me that they are not much concerned about the customers.
We had a lovely dinner at Saffron on Monday night - our first time back in a restaurant since Covid struck. The food was delicious and the service impeccable.
I have visited there so many time really a delicious food and reasonable price. Definitely will go again and will recommend my friends to go there as well. There staff is really soft spoken and very calm.
Disappointingly small portions of meals and overly expensive prices. We had to order extra items during our meal. Stars for the location only.
Ordered delivery via menu log. Was really excited to try a new Indian place with decent ratings.unfortunately the food wasn’t really up to scratch - definitely not 4 stars. We ordered the tandoor platter but the meat was soggy like it had just been boiled - no spice or flavour! The chicken in the curry was diced, not soft tender bits of thigh.my naan was more like fluffy white bread than a dense greasy naan.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. We got takeaway from there for Mother's Day, and it was beyond disappointing. The food was flavorless and clearly watered down. The meat platter was tough and dry, and was the smallest platter I have ever seen. We didn't ask for pappadums, yet we were charged $7 for them. The naans were rock hard in the center, and weren't garlic flavoured like they were meant to be.
2 meals were completely inedible; our kids wouldn't even touch it. The other 2 meals were edible, yet tasted like it was straight from the woolies frozen section.
We called and complained and the manager was beyond rude and handed the phone to the chef. Even after the manager finally agreed to give us a refund, he only gave us a $50 refund on a $130 meal.
We understand that times are tough with covid-19, but watering down food and trying to pass it off is disgusting, and no way to run a business.
Had a nice dinner with family.the curries are very good.shall visit again if we visit Hobart.from Sydney.
Great afternoon atvSaffron. Raj and the team did a magnificent job. Highly recommended. Great atmosphere. Lucky kept the glass full.
