The Saffron Indian Restaurant reviews
70Lovely restaurant, wonderful family evening with the best indian food around cant wait to visit again
Excellent Service, and very soft, buttery Garlic Naan’s along side a succulent butter chicken and a
colourful and flavourful biryani all paired with a icy cold beer.
Complements to the staff and chefs for the delicious food and wonderful service
The food was alright but way too pricy for the portion they served. Food also took a long time to come!
Went for dine in last night with family loved the food staff was great very helpful butter chicken and garlic naan was the best we will be back again well done guys highly recommended
Will start with the (very few) positive things; gulab jamun and peas pulao were good. Naan were okay.
The rest of the food ie. Rogan Josh, Paneer Makhani were not good. The table was not ready. Did not have napkins or cutlery. Has to ask for everything. The representatives seemed to be working hard but were never present when we needed something. It seemed like they were preparing to close down for the day, but then they should not have allowed us in.
In short below average food, bad service, no hospitality. Just because they do not have competition does not mean they can sustain without really improving on their food and service. Feels bad to write this review especially as I am an Indian myself, but had to give honest review so that they improve hopefully.
We order cheese naan, garlic cheese naan we’re good but the chili and herb naan was like a crunchy biscuit bit over done.
Order Malai kofta was delicious but Daal makhani was too much cinnamon flavored and bhindi masala was just fried bhindi and sliced onion but unfortunately no masala.
Serving size were very small.
This is one place where you get to experience the perfect Indian food taste with great customer service. The food we ordered was full of flavour, especially the boneless goat curry was one of its kind. Every curry had a different flavour and didn’t feel like everything was cooked in one single pan, like most of the Indian food joints do these days.
I recommend to try at least once and then you will make your way every week anyway.
Wishing lucky and his team good wishes for the new year and keep going strong at Saffron Indian restaurant in Hobart, Tasmania.
Food was good but quantity was very less. We ordered full and and dal but it was enough for 1 person only. Staff was very nice. Food quality was great. Location is outstanding.
Tried this place tonight after being recommended by someone, best decision ever. Lamb Korma Addition to the Garlic Naan which not only looked good but tasted awesome too. The Staff was very friendly and the manager was accommodating too some special requests that we made to our food. Portions were really generous. Highly Recommended We will Definitely be back.
Lovely food the butter chicken is the best I've ever eaten. Lovely friendly service will definitely be going again
Two stars for Great location,
But below average food, and super expensive, qty served is not even sufficient for one person, couples would have to order more
not sure if it's worth a visit.
Overall not impressed.
Taste LESS food. Extremely small portions and expensive. We have wasted $200 for a dinner. Didn’t eat the food.
We ordered 2 platers and 4 different veg and non veg curries they all tasted same like they cook everything in a tomato sauce and they heat up the sauce and bring that at the table. Its was our first time but very disappointed with the food quality and the portion size. Never going back there.
Enjoyed a takeaway meal of Tandoori Chicken, rice and Nan.
Would highly recommend to visit if you are in Hobart.
Staff are friendly and professional.
Look forward to my next visit for another fabulous meal. 5 stars
I ‘ve been to Restaurant with my friend and the hospitality is just so great, very nice food (Authentic Indian), I had malai kofta and most of restaurants make it on sweeter side and if you are indian, you know thats not how u would like it but they served me perfectly well on the savoury side.
I would highly recommend you to pay them a visit
Interior -
Plating - Not as expected
Food - the female who took our order didn't tell us that Paneer Kadhai and Veg Jalfrezi would be the same/similar gravy. Also, one doesn't want green chilli pieces in the curry coz it ruins the whole taste leaving the tongue burnt.
The male who supposedly looked like the manager was kind enough to not charge us for the lamb curry that one of my friends ordered as we didn't like it.
The naans could have been a little more well done: (
Had an amazing experience. Great service. Food incredibly tasty. Staff incredibly friendly and efficient. Will be definately going back!
New haunt
Great Indian Restaurant for Indian cuisine. Rich flavors and quick service. It was a refreshing visit
The food and the garlic naan was to die for 10/10 the staff were very nice.the best Indian food I’ve ever had, would totally visit again next time I’m in Tasmania
Tasty food, very good service, waiters are very professional and they always come to check on us. The resturant is clean, no smell. One of the best places in tassie so far. Keep the good work guys
We stumbled across this little place and was the best discovery! The meals were incredible. Have not had a curry that good in a very long time. Was impressed that there was even gluten free roti and tandoori bread! Service was great too!
