A bit overrated for a fine dining restaurant. Small portion for the price charged. Taste wise is bland. Walked out the dinner still feeling hungry.

Went for solo dinner and composed my own menu - really attentive staff and great novel tastes in all dishes - would come again for the tasting menu but that would have to be with at least 2 people - anyone want to join?

Underwhelmed. 6pm sitting table for two - had to ask wait staff for beverage service. Unfortunately plates all same flavour. No offer of dessert / tea coffee. Overall very disappointing. Better places in Hobart to eat and enjoy.

We were really looking forward to coming here, but unfortunately we didn’t have a great experience. We opted for the $90pp chef’s menu. The sashimi/tuna was absolutely incredible, the rest was OK. The service was definitely under-par. The staff were ran off their feet and without having a dedicated waiter/waitress for our table, we sort of got forgotten about. One of us sat with an empty glass for about 50 minutes and there was a big delay between courses (as our dirty dishes were still sitting next to us from the previous course). This place has real potential with a few more service staff. The chefs menu could also list what it entails, to help people decide if it’s for them.

Stunning location. Food all came at the same time… entrees and mains. Raw food great (oysters, sashimi) and hot food very ordinary (overcooked, fish dish didn’t work and soggy). Service patchy. Won’t be rushing back.

We had a fantastic lunch here! The staff were amazing from the moment we arrived, very attentive, friendly and helpful. They were happy to answer questions about the menu and offer suggestions if required. It was also lovely that our water glasses were topped up regularly without having to ask.

We loved our meals. The food was delicious and fresh and nicely presented.

The chairs were very comfortable and we were seated right next to the wonderful big windows looking out over the water. It was a lovely place to sit and they were happy for us to sit and chat after our meal, we definitely weren't rushed out!

There are two unisex accessible bathrooms, with grab rails that drop down on both sides of the toilet as required, which was great.

Came here for a birthday dinner on NYD. The staff picked perfect seating and were hospitable. Food was really tasty, excellent seafood. The sashimi was our favourite. Recommend booking ahead because it was busy.

Obviously fantastic location, but also friendly and fabulous service (including wine recommendations), and wonderful food. Chef’s menu is very good value

Dissapointed… Booked well in advance for a ladies lunch and chose Glasshouse for the food and view. We didn’t have a view as we were placed to the side near a hens party. Was so hot in there but told by staff air conditioning wouldn’t do much and “sorry”.

The waiter was all over the shop and didn’t have any idea about the drinks or wine when we asked and didn’t offer to gain another staff member who might.

I said 3 times about a friends allergy’s and saw him write it down only for her to be presented a meal she wasn’t able to consume to have him state to us “I wasn’t told of the allergy”. At least apologise but don’t deflect it back to the dining guests when you were advised at the beginning. Not good enough.

Not a lot of wine by the glass and most bottles very pricey.

Food was good but there are better venues for the price tag in Hobart.

Service was horrendous…

Staff wearing runners and jeans and had about 6 different waiters at one point. Staff not interested and knew little about the menu.

For a $$$ (3 dollar sign) restaurant I was expecting a little more.

Overpriced for the privilege of a view which we didn’t get anyways! Better meals and service in a pub without the price tag.

We had a fantastic time at the Glass House. The food was the best I've eaten at a resteraunt and the service was fabulous.
The bar tender James was extremely charming and talented. I asked him to make me a 'bar tender's' choice cocktail and what he created was devine. Overall, we had a great experience. I highly recommend a visit if you find yourself in Hobart.

We wanted a a night out where we could enjoy the waterfront over dinner. The menus with the perfectly matching wines was outstanding.

Great drinks, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere.

I sat at the bar not having a booking, staff were accommodating and friendly. Bar staff struck up conversation, had a good laugh. Thanks again.

We were wondering around Hobart and came across this restaurant.
Service was good, tasty food and the price and portions were reasonable.
You get to enjoy meals and drinks with the great view.

I went expecting a lot even after reading some of the reviews. I booked and was taken to my “table”. The waiters were friendly, professional and efficient. I had the calamari salad and the lamb. Both dishes were fine with the lamb being very good. I would go back just for that. Being the only person in my group, I was taken to my counter to sit. This was my gripe. The restaurant wasn’t full and sitting at a bench overlooking another table made me feel like I was on display. The patron’s whose table I looked over seemed a little uncomfortable as well, probably because I could watch every mouthful and move they made. I would definitely not come here alone and sit at the bench and I suggest the restaurant think about the layout.

Delightful welcome and attention to detail. Food was beautiful. Really inventive and generous in size. Lovely outlook over the river. Staff and their professionalism made the night so special.

Great views at this place. The cocktail we got were the “into the cosmo” and “the Jimlette”. Both of them were great.

Just read the reviews before posting and it seems like some people went to a different restaurant. I have no problems with the service or the fact that at night time you get reflections rather than a view.food was lovely, wait staff were lovely. I didn't like using the app as a menu at all though, it encourages people to get their phones out, not put them away and I couldn't get it up on mine so had to keep asking to see some else's phone. One of the waiters was perhaps slightly inexperienced but very polite and attentive. I would come again.

I was in Hobart for a long weekend recently and had some time to kill while waiting for my friend to land so decided to pop into Glass House for a few drinks. The bartenders here were amazing, in depth knowledege of quality drinks and great customer service. Good selection of local products

Unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant. Firstly - I would only recommend this restaurant for the view during the day. All we could see at our 8pm booking was reflections of the bar lighting and other guests out of the windows at night. Secondly we were sat at a table which had 4 seats (just the 2 of us) where my partner could not get his legs under and had them to the side as it was an odd shape - we were also sat under very bright spotlights (shining right in my partners face). When we asked to move to several other spare tables we were told that was not possible (I booked this restaurant weeks prior). After staff whispering and deliberation 20 mins later we were told " we've had cancellations and can move you now". We ordered starters and were very underwhelmed with the sashimi and kingfish carpaccio. We paid the hefty bill and left very disappointed. Unfortunately we will not recommend nor return to this restaurant. This was meant to be a highlight of our trip to Tas.
