The Elimatta Hotel reviews
49Food had generous portions at a reasonable price, the Eye Mignon was lovely, and the chips were as delicious as ever, however the Scotch Fillet was disappointingly over-cooked and woman who took my order and brought out our food did not show a very customer friendly attitude, seeming to get annoyed at simple questions.
Wonderful place. Great atmosphere great food. Huge servings. Not too expensive
Highly recommend Elimatta Hotel.
Dinner Sunday night of the long weekend - staff poorly trained and couldn’t care less about customers. Food average and atmosphere just ok as it is at least a renovated modern hotel. Don’t have too many expectations as it’s a pub but in a nice location and you won’t be disappointed
Great venue to watch Spirit of Tasmania arrive and depart. Also very good espresso Martini
Nice hotel with an atmosphere to suit. Meal was great and the beer was nice and cold.
Great pleasant service
The poor barmaid was on her own doing drinks, keno, trying to get kegs changed and asking for help with cocktails. Ordered chicken and prawn pesto pasta, not one prawn in it. Sorry but not good enough. Going elsewhere next time
What has happened to the good value pub meal. Over $30 fish &chips 4 fingers of fish cold chips. More cucumber than salad even after requesting no cucumber. Not good enough. Want be able to recommend or return.
Great meal they could not do enough to help I have allergies my meal was perfect yummo great views nice and quiet loved it thank Elimatas staff
Seafood platter was disappointing. Very tasteless. Parmigiana was overdone. Clean and friendly though.
Very yum food, great view but very very expensive prices, well worth the price if you can afford it
I had the crumbed scallops, they were just average, not crispy and the vegetables were soggy. The wife had the fish, almost inedible, the batter
was spongey and watery. Disappointing considering I had a main serve and the wife a half serve and it cost over $60
Won't be heading back anytime soon.
Got in late from the Spirit crossing, the staff were welcoming, unit was very comfortable, would go back again.
Accommodation was a pleasant surprise, neat, clean and modern facilities. Pub had honest meals that were quickly served and table service was very efficient and friendly.
Meals were good, nice atmosphere and view of the river. Because it was during the Christmas holiday period they were a bit short staffed so meals too a bit longer, I wasn't too worried jst had a couple of sneaky beers while I waited.
Shame to come to such a nice location, be served by a waitress who doesn’t even say hello, just WHAT TABLE YA AT?
Then the food arrives. First of all it was $45 for a scotch fillet.chips were over cooked, snapped in half when you put your fork through them.
Steak was burnt to the s***house, little flakes of charcoal all through the sauce. Half the steak was grissle and inedible, as you can see from the photos.
Nice view but avoid the food. Did an entire round trip of tassie, shame to end it at this bistro.
The meals were very basic, small parmigiana & gravy mushy frozen veg ' cauli & carrot $34.95, roast of the day small with same bland veg with tiny amount of meat $30, not sure if the owner realizes how plain these meals are! Specials menu board could offer better value, some items didnt have prices,! Had a meal the next day in Ulverstone with better value for $13, when we commented about the Elimatta meals, were told don't go there, unfortunately we had already, obviously word gets around, our afternoon lunch experience was not enjoyable.
Next time I'm up I'm willing to give it another chance which would be fair.
Disappointed they were short staffed, caused a longer than normal wait time.
Room was smaller than expected but still manageable for the night.
Well this was a real surprise after few bad experiences related to small night parking hotels in Tassi.
First of all, the staff was extremely friendly. I called them to telll them that it'll be late when I arrive all the way from Hobart, but the lady on the other end told me to not to rush, take my time and to watch out because there can be animals on the road. Such a love and caring.
When we arrive, the room was modern and super clean. We had a microwave in the room. Beds were provided with heating blanckets, and the bathroom was super spacious. I would say this was a real value for money for around $ 110 per night.
They had a dining in pub + a resturant but there were plenty of food options just outside the hotel as well.
Highly recommend this place if you are planning to take the morning Ferry to Melbourne. This is like a 10 mns drive from the terminal.
Thank you very much to all the staff!
Very disappointed caught up with friends for lunch and we had to wait a hour for our meal to come out.
This hotel is a dive. Clean sheets etc.but for the life of me cannot understand why you’d put your hotel rooms right next to a smokers area? So loud all night you can literally join in on conversations. Not to mention people fighting in the parking lot. Not a family friendly place. I’d ask for a refund but honestly cant be bothered. Don’t waste your money.
