The Dragonfly Inn reviews
55 Everything was wonderful! Including interiors & cleanness & process for the check in and out & breakfast!
The room even has a big bath tab!
I will definitely stay again when I come to Launceston next.
Thank you for the spectacular time.
The Dragonfly Inn is a must stay in Launceston. The homestead is absolutely gorgeous. Every dealing we had with Tom, Bec and the team was amazing. No staff are on site but check in information is sent to you prior to your stay and it is so easy. Even though noone is on site there are so many little extras that set this property apart. Yes the Dragonfly is up a hill however it is super easy to walk everywhere and there is a walkway just at the base of the drive which makes the hill climb a breeze. We couldn't fault anything and hope to one day make a return visit and recommend anyone wanting accommodation in Launceston to stay here.
We travelled around Tasmania for two weeks, and stayed at several different accommodations. The Dragonfly Inn was by far our favourite. We stayed in the gorgeous Arizona Room. It was spotless and included thoughtful touches including a bottle of sparkling wine and a card to wish me for my birthday. The view from the wraparound balcony was also wonderful. The breakfast provided was plentiful and the location was very convenient by car. Definitely would recommend.
We had an amazing stay at The Dragonfly Inn. Room was outstanding with the heater on to make sure it was nice and warm for us. Breakfast provisions were awesome for us to have in the communal dining area which was just lovely. Highly recommend
A wonderful old share house, beautifully restored and well run by the owners. Check in and breakfast are self serve with breakfast in the communal dining room with views overlooking the city.
Be aware that there is a flight of stairs to get up to the accommodation and another flight if staying on the top floor.
Walking to and from the city is very manageable for most, albeit with a steep incline leading up to the Dragonfly.
Beautiful site, set up very well.
You can choose to socialise with other guests or keep more to yourself.
It is set up to self check in, which includes a gorgeous welcome spread and a breakfast basket.
Would recommend to anyone who appreciates restored historic buildings.
Good for the price and location, great view and clean rooms. People with big luggage would be a bit difficult to access the room upstairs.
Building was beautiful but reno finish was a bit rough in places - what's going on with the loo and cupboard doors cheapened it. Loved the bath and bed was huge. DIY check-in and breaky cook and clean up etc was a new experience, but everything we needed was provided.
Great little place with everything you need. Only thing I did not like was how thin the walls are, the person next to me set their alarm for 7 am and I honestly thought it was mine going off earlier as it was that close and sounded like mine. Other than that it is beautiful and loved the fact I had cheese and crackers in the fridge for when I arrived and breakfast for the morning.
We had a very comfortable stay at the Dragonfly Inn, it was super convenient for getting to and from the gorge and it took 30 minutes to walk to a restaurant at the mariner (taxi home though). The self check-in was fine but a bit impersonal. Breakfast was laid on and was in a fridge in an individual box for our room. Once again worked but a bit impersonal. Having said all that the rooms and house were lovely and we would stay there again
Wonderfully preserved heritage house, beautiful and clean rooms. We stayed one night and really enjoyed our soft comfy bed, in a really nice room. The house is situated in a very quiet and picturesque location, best vantage point is on the shared balcony. The breakfast is a complete one, with full on site facilities. Highly recommended option if you're looking for a cosy stay in Launceston away from the generic hotels.
We stayed in the Claudia room and it was stunning! Beautiful room that was calm and comfortable to relax in. Breakfast was very cute and had plenty of variety and options. We loved the armchairs and desk in our room.
Great Bed and Breakfast. Good concept with private rooms and shared dining. Generous breakfast basket. Communal dining room great for sharing experiences with other travelers.
We had the pleasure of staying here recently and were really impressed by the whole package. The drive up to the house is enticing. Their gardens set the tone. The house is a fine example of the architecture of that era. The foyer is alluring. The dining room and lounge are very grand, with a huge window looking out over Launceston. We stayed in the Claudia room, and I think it had the best look, decor-wise. Again, true to the era. Well furnished. They provided a breakfast basket that had eggs (4), bread for toast, butter, muesli, two fruits, and Greek yoghurt. We were very comfortable in our room. Breakfast was memorable and delicious. It was nice to chat with other guests about where they had been and where they were going. We were pampered. It is outstanding value compared to other accommodations we have sampled.
An absolutely beautiful guest house. Super close to the city centre, on-site parking was wonderfully convenient, and the sauna and four poster king-size bed made it a dream. Would thoroughly recommend.
Amazing and comfortable place in a convenient location with beautiful view. The thoughtfulness and generosity of the team at Dragonfly inn are very evident in the design and set up of this lovely place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
All the little extras add to your stay in this lovingly restored building.
Stroll through and sit in the garden, take in the view from the balcony, partake of happy hour in the dining room and get to know your fellow guests.
I will return and try out another room for sure. They are all so charming.
What an absolutely adorable place. This historical home is being shared by Tom ans Bec with their guests and they have done a fantastic job. The home is presented buitifully, the room we stayed in, Elle, was impecable - clean, comfortable, a great view, and a fabulous Spa Bath.
A well thought out breakfast arrangement makes The Dragonfly Inn a true Bed and Breakfast and not just a room and bed for the night. Having the breakfast in a common dining room provides a perfect opportunity to meet the other guests.
Tom and Bec provide all the little extras that make for a wonderful experience. Well done The Dragonfly Team. We will certainly be staying with you on our next visit and be recommending your BnB to our friends.
Absolutely loved our stay here our first time in Launceston, we went straight from the airport to the accommodation, it was late and the late check in was easy as. Had a lovely spa in our room. Woke up to lovely views of Launceston and then enjoyed a beautiful breakfast that is left in a basket ready for when you wake up. Would definitely stay here again!
Beautiful old house. Rooms comfortable and stylish with lovely little touches. Highly recommended
