The Bischoff Hotel Waratah reviews
59Great coffee, cute waterfall across the road. Nice and close to Cradle Mountain. Clean heated rooms. Friendly and helpful owner.
Great food. Cold beer. Welcoming environment. Friendly service. Chatted to the owner himself. And what an outlook. Would definitely recommend.
We had an absolutely fantastic stay here. The hospitality was second to none and we were made to feel right at home the moment we entered. The lunch pack for our hike up Cradle Mountain was delicious and easily picked up the morning of our hike from the communal fridge. The meal we had that evening in the bar was delicious as well. Finally, the room itself (Juliet Suite) was extremely comfortable and had a beautiful view of the waterfall. I would highly recommend a stay here and certainly will be back when visiting the area!
Fawlty towers looks good. All food is fried fried or fried. Owners fairly new they have a lot of learning before we stay again
WOW.what a hidden gem.apart from the the view of the waterfall from the bar. The steak sandwich is to die for and there is alot of gluten free options The staff are super friendly. When you walk in you feel at home straight away. Thanks for a enjoyable lunch
An amazing home town of Waratah Hotel.
The Bischoff Hotel is an icon in the district with its strong history going way back when the Bischoff mines were in operation.
Many a great childhood times staying here with my Housego family who lived in the area.
A must place to visit and the scenery is great too.
Had a wonderful time. Lovely clean room with a amazing view of the waterfall. The food was very tasty and the local Manuka stout was top notch. Simon greeted us and made us feel very welcome. Wonderful step back in time and well worth it. Thank you so much.
Will be back for sure.
Lovely little pub to escape the cold of the campsite! The food menu had a great selection for vegetarians which is difficult to find in rural areas and the food we ordered was all delicious. The owner was lovely and friendly and even went to the effort to indulge me in craving for an Irish hot whiskey!
Lovely hospitality and cute little town to stay near Cradle mountain. Good value and tasty meals, we had dinner here both nights.
Clean comfortable nicely presented accomodation, lovely meal, we enjoyed our stop over. Delightful little town.
Great hotel and pub, delicious and generous food, warm and clean room, views of waterfall and friendly staff.
The commercial room is like stepping back in history, with an incredibly high ceiling plus the added bonus of a modern ensuite bathroom with large spa bath. It has a view directly to the Waratah Falls. The dining room has good food at good prices. Altogether a delightful experience.
Stopped in after a long cold days riding, room was available and owner very nice and accomodating. Food was great as was the company of others. She’d out the back to lock up the motorcycle and they even have a Tesla charger out back. Definitely recommend the Bischoff Hotel
What an awesome place. We lucked out and got the front corner room overlooking the falls.just spectacular. The room was lovely and very comfortable. Staff were so nice and always happy to help. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the meals were delicious and very reasonably priced.
I went out of my way to stay here because I had been through the town before and thought it looked nice. Also the spa room was available and that was very much appreciated after a long day's ride. Can recommend the commercial room, which is huge by pub standards, and has a lovely view of the waterfall, the aforementioned spa bath and breakfast included) although it might be a bit cold in winter (heating and lekky blankets notwithstanding), but it's an old building and that comes with the territory.
The landlord was a very nice chap and extremely accommodating, the food was excellent (which is unusual of pubs in the west in my experience) and the whole experience properly relaxing and comfortable. The front bar is perhaps not the cosiest, lots of hard surfaces and flouro lighting, but there were a lot of locals in there and locals have got to be comfortable drinking in the front bar of their local pub in work gear so fair enough. I'm sure it'd be a different story in winter with the fire going.
Also for motorcyclists/Mountain bikers: there is a lock-up bike shed out the back with boot racks and jacket hangers and space for you to sit while you take your gear off. The bloke gave me the key when I checked in and told me to keep it for the duration of my stay. Great touch. Loved this and it's the only time I struck it in 11 days touring the island.
Great pub. Will be back to stay in the commercial room.
Great pub, friendly service. The owners made me a toastie when I arrived late.
Waratah is a Beautiful town. Definitely worth visiting. I’ll come back.
Great food and wonderful hospitality!
We had a very wet swag so decided to stay for the night and they let us make use of the bike shed to dry our swag out. The room was lovely too.
Great staff. Easy food. Toilets. Accommodation. Bar. Juke Box. Pool table. Lovely views. Stop for a look and stay for a meal. Fabulous.
I can not recommend the Bischoff Hotel enough. I have family who were in desperate need of some meals during the Covid pandemic, due to an injury, and Liz was so fantastic to deal with. It was no problem for Liz to deliver meals, and she was so trustworthy because payment was only asked for at the end after all meals were delivered.
Thank you Liz, and hubby, for putting mine and my brothers mind at ease knowing our family were looked after.
We had lunch at the Bischoff Hotel Waratah and it was nice food.it was a nice old pub with lots of atmosphere. The people were friendly. A nice place to stop on your way to Cradle Mountain.
