Stewarts Bay Lodge reviews
56 The property is close the Port Arthur historic site, Gabriel’s restaurant was quite delish, the property is peaceful and quiet and close the the boat cruise company we took a trip on
The bunk beds is so creaky that every move makes a huge noise and the upper bunk is so wobbily I was scared to sleep in it in case it breaks and crush the occupant below. There is no recycling bins and we had to wash up the dishes. Acceptable if we are renting a house or Airbnb, but I thought this is a hotel. And no wifi! How could there be no wifi in the room only wifi in the restaurant? !
The place needs a revamp and every thing looks a bit old and tired
Considering I paid a lot more to book Stewart’s Bay for my husband’s birthday I think it was a waste of money.
Best accommodation in Port Arthur, but a little pricey for the water view cabins. The view is absolutely amazing, you can see right into the glistening bay, and at sunrise the sky turns golden. There's a full kitchen in the room, with an oven and a dishwasher. An actually good TV with a decent sound system and you can rent movies from reception at no cost. Design is modern, and the spa bath in the master bedroom is amazing. You can look out onto the view.
Stunning views from their dining and lounge areas. Stopped there for a wine and enjoyed the ambiance. Menu looks great.
Nice location, rooms are nice and clean, staff are friendly and welcoming. Had our 2nd stay here and it is now our go to place in the area.
+ Great location for exploring the area
+ great food at the restaurant but booking early is a must.
- Poorly signed, cabins are dated and dirty
- worst bed I have ever slept on
Just a short overnight stay. Easy after hours check in. Cabin was great had everything we needed.
Great cabin for the family and the bay is very pretty. The resturant was great quality as well.
Stayed here with my daughter in November and it was just beautiful. Picturesque, secluded, all amenities and with a balcony overlooking the water. Lovely walking track and the staff at restaurant were super friendly.
We have had a most unpleasant stay and I would like all visitors to be careful of the following; We booked a full sea view cabin online for a 7 night stay. However on arrival we were given cabin 28 with a glimpse of the ocean on the RHS of the panoramic I have attached. Went back to reception and the said they can do nothing about it, it's the booking agents misleading information (think Trivago please), however they weren't involved. Options were given
1. Stay where you are.
2. Perhaps there will be seaview cabins available during your stay and we can move you around, one night here another there! My wife and I are old senior citizens, therefore this wasn't an option at all!
3. We can move you to another cabin which is situated in the bush with no views and this is nice because it's quiet! Oh my goodness no an option at all.
We decided to stay in cabin 28 and make the best of it.

Beautiful and peaceful. Well-appointed cabins. Bring a book - there's no cellular or 4G reception except for at the nearby restaurant (you can access it all day so it's not entirely anxiety inducing!). Lots to do in the area.
Beautiful.
Lovely self contained cabins in a secluded and picturesque location. All modern conveniences, Wifi only available at the restaurant though.
Wallabies roaming near the cabins.
Water and hill views from the cabin and just a short stroll to the water.
Friendly staff managed to get us in for dinner where the food was absolutely sensational.
So close to Port Arthur.
Only negative was not staying longer.
Waterfront chalets have an amazing outlook. Very spacious, ok supply of kitchen utensils, free DVD hire (plus boardgames and spring equipment). Easy stroll to the restaurant, which is good, and again a lovely outlook. Would recommend this as a place to stay while visiting the Tasman Peninsula.
Location was excellent, very close to major tourist attractions. The chalet style accommodation afforded privacy while units were not to far away that you couldn't find your friends. The internal layout was modern and clean with all necessary amenities provided. The only downside was the lack of ventilation in the bathrooms meant that towels stayed wet once used and had to be hung on the balcony to dry out.
Incredible service from all staff. Facilities, location, food were all amazing. Best place we stayed in Tasmania!
Could have been better managed, lots of items faulty, eg. Electric blankets in the children's bunk room aren't working, the light is faulty in one of the rooms. Staff are friendly though. And they are on a lovely venue close to the reserve. Absolutely beautiful place.
Nice lunch at the restaurant, which has a lovely outlook over the water, menu was reasonably priced as well.
