Great location for the hiking nearby and the rooms are awesome and big however, they were very stingy with cosmetic products at the hotel and this hotel would be so awesome if it had a pool

The website needs to make it clear this is 100% self-catering, and despite the "luxury" price and nice views, it has vibes of staying in a cheap motel or caravan park cabin. There is no daily service, and despite having a restaurant on-site, you cannot get meals delivered to your cabin! I am autistic and don't like eating in noisy restaurants with other people, so this was a big disappointment. I would have been happy to pay $200+ for a meal to be delivered to enjoy on our own peaceful balcony to complete our luxury experience - their loss I guess. Very bad business decision. We settled for frozen pizza from the general store instead.

One big plus is they have a couple of Chargefox EV chargers behind reception. You need your own Type 2 cable.

The inclusions in the room were disappointing. There's a coffee plunger, but no proper coffee. Just a tray of sachets like you find in cheap motels, and a tiny long life milk. There's a notice on the wall demanding that you do your dishes on departure or risk a $30 charge. These sort of things are not what you expect with a luxury experience. Would have been nice to have some complimentary wine, chocolates and fruit on arrival. None of that here.

A general store on the corner sells some basic grocery supplies and take-away food. The groceries are very expensive, and meat options are limited. Suggest you find a Coles or Woolies along the way. You have been warned!

There's no wifi in the rooms, but there is a Telstra 4G signal (low). Lucky we brought our Chromecast along and hooked it up to the TV so we were able to stream Netflix over 4G on the first night. The second day we woke up and there was a cruise ship anchored across the bay - and as soon as that thing arrived we could no longer use the internet because the local phone towers could not handle the extra traffic.

The bed was good but the pillows were very high and hard as a rock. There were 4 pillows, and all of them the same. Woke up each day with a headache. Suggest you bring your own pillows or you may need Panadol or a chiropractor.

Be aware of the fridge! I put some ice creams from the corner store in the freezer and the next day they had fully melted. Turns out the temperature was on the lowest possible setting presumably to save 15 cents a day on electricity. Milk, meat, and other perishables will spoil if kept at these temperatures for too long.

The lack of attention to the little things, and all the penny-pinching for the price you pay makes this a once-only experience.

Possibly the best spot to stay in Port Arthur. Extremely close to the historic site and right next to a great beach. Rooms were spacious with a kitchen and washing machine.

We rang the lodge with a last minute booking request due to our camping plans being washed out. Susie was super helpful and so kind in helping us secure a two bedroom log cabin at an affordable price. The cabin was clean and super comfortable for our family of four. The location is brilliant for active families as it’s right on the water and on the walking track to Port Arthur historic site. Even though the weather wasn’t great our family had a wonderful stay! Thanks again Susie and team

Had dinner at the restaurant.
The only thing good about it was the view and even that is covered by trees.
Steak was well done or could of called it charcoal after asking for medium well.
The Battered fish tasted like mashed batter. Zero taste and could of cooked better chips in the air fryer at home.
Kids chicken schnitzel was the best food by a mile its shame we didn't all get it.
Will not return waste of over $100

Welcome to my review of Stewart Bay Lodge, located on the beautiful island of Tasmania.

As a first-time visitor, I was struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere, the friendly staff.

The Lodge has everything you need for a comfortable stay - from spacious rooms and modern amenities to a variety of outdoor activities close by.

The Hallmark of Stewart Bay Lodge is their dedication to offering a five-star experience. From the moment of arrival, we felt spoiled and looked after. The restaurant was first class and Rose gave us incredible service.
The food was superb.

We stayed in one of the Log Cabins which was comfortable and well equipped. The views from our balcony were breathtaking, with panoramic views over the bay.

The location was perfect for us with easy access to the 3 Capes Hike.

I was very impressed with our stay at Stewart Bay Lodge. As somebody who likes their holidays to be active, this was the ideal destination. From the quality of service to the stunning scenery, this is definitely a place that I will return to in the future

We stayed here for one night on our trip down the East Coast. Found the cabin to be very open and spacious with own cooking and laundry facilities (considering the size of the cabin and bathroom, the shower was very small - I couldn't see it being easy for a larger sized adult).
We were planning to have dinner in the restaurant but were advised at check in that the restaurant would be closed that evening (apparently we should have received an email prior advising us of this?). As we had tours already planned, it made it difficult to plan an alternate so ended up with takeaway from next door.
All up, we found it a bit highly priced for what was offered. We would likely choose somewhere else when visiting Port Arthur in the future. My rating is 3.5 stars

Lovely location above the bay, Restaurant was closed for our entire duration - would have loved to dine here as the reviews are quiet commendable. But in fairness, I was informed After. I booked to stay!
We were able to get a few supplies for our breakfasts and we dined out for dinner.
Rooms have Thin walls, so not really ideal for two adult couples to share.
Bathroom was only fitted with a shower curtain, water splashed everywhere! But the comfort of cabin in total was very accomodating and a good size, staff had pre set the warm air-con to on, for our arrival. A big plus, in the middle of winter, and appreciated. We will definetly try booking in Summer, next time we are down!

Not really it took ages for someone to take our drinks order and they got it wrong. Entree was good. Mains wallaby fillet and brisket was Overdone and tough and seriously the pricing is over the top for what they put on your plate. Super not impressed

Had trouble finding a place open for meals on Monday night, This happened to be the only one which as it turned out was a stroke of luck. The wife and I both had different fish dishes and they were as good as we have ever tasted. If we lived closer would rat there mire often. 10/10

Well furnished rooms with kitchen facility. Walking distance from Port Arthur. Walking trail that leads to a beach (kids friendly). Rooms are with washing machines and dryers (don’t have high expectations). Friendly staff and in close proximity to lots of lookout points and walking tracks. Friendly staff can help you with maps. Also can hire tennis racket and ball from reception. Stay at least 2 days to avoid regret.

Booked into Stewart Bay Lodge for 1 night. But as soon as we opened the door and walked into cabin. We booked for an extra night. Absolutely loved it here. Beautiful peaceful setting and location. The 1 bedroom cabin was just perfect. Would definitely recommend staying here if in the area. If I come back to Tassie again would definitely come back. Tammy

The location is just magnificent: the bay with its white sandy beach and crystal clear water is very beautiful.
The accommodation is fine but expensive: the cost should be seen in little touches: provide a coffee machine, a bottle of local wine or local produces.
The same critic can be made for its restaurant: the menu is quite limited but it becomes very limited when you are announced that a listed dish is not available but instead, there is a different one available My meal on the 1st evening was delicious and so local. We went back for dinner the following night (easier when you had a long day). When ordering, we asked about the "missing" dish: still not available! And then the new one was not available anymore This restaurant lacks in character and organisation, such a pity. Meals are served quickly though.
