Sporties Hotel reviews
54Stayed Friday night for a really good night sleep. Only half of my queen blow up bed blows up. They were supposed to have a band but the cancelled. I stayed in my room mostly.
A group of 11 of us dined here and there were certainly no complaints. The food here is generally good but they excelled themselves on this occasion. I had the best salmon dish I have ever tasted (the Asian -styled sauce was to die for!) and will certainly return and recommend.
Centrally located to everything Launceston has to offer, the accommodations are basic but comfortable. No fridge or work desk in the room, and it can be a little noisy, but it is an active pub after all. Friday and Saturday they have live music as well. For the price, you can't beat it.
Nice food. Prompt service. Had eye fillet with salad, plus a steak sandwich. All well cooked to order.
Pretty good pub grub. Not bad for a counter lunch. Don't expect gourmet food. Servings are generous, service fast, priced right and the beer is cold. I'll go back.
Great place, fantastic staff, clean and well priced rooms. It's one of those places I'm hesitant about reviewing, because the next time I book I don't want to hear sorry we are full.
Affordable accommodation.clean room. Friendly staff.great meal.
Central location.walking distance to everything.
Will be back in near future.
Great bar and atmosphere service was good. Food in restaurant was great little slack on service. Rooms ok for price and were reasonable
Sunday lunch was great. Lovely warm fire on a cold winters day. Char grilled steak was 0ne of the best I have had in a long time. Parmy was also good. Very friendly waitress. Will definately return.
3 of us went for lunch. The day was cold and wet and the avail eating area wasn't very warm nor inviting. Our 2 steaks were quite nice, and a hamburger was pretty good. Salad on a pretty cold day not appertising as we were cold sitting there. Maybe some winter veg was better suited. Small parking area at back of premises or street parking. Rest rooms on site. We'll try again in summer maybe.
Great all round experience.
Last minute booking and arrived late-they were closing, however staff were both welcoming and helpful.
Exceptional:)
Clean, basic rooms, in a good location. We opted for the room with a private bathroom, located down the hallway which suited us fine, however, no mirrors in the bedroom which would have been useful. Having turned up early, staff were accommodating and we were able to check in sooner than we thought. Be prepared if you're there for the weekend as there is live music in the pub below, which can be loud.
The menus in the room and on the website were different to the ones in the bar, and therefore most of the food on there was unavailable, nothing major, more of an inconvenience. Staff were friendly and apologetic when we brought this to their attention.
Sporties is a hiden gem for the budget minded traveler. We arrived at 8am from the airport. The venue wasnt open, yet the staff open the door booked us in and let us leave our bags in a safe location until the room was ready at 12pm.
The hotel is located within walking distance of the Launceston CBD. We also walked to Cataract Gorge and back from Sporties 3.2km one way.
We selected the single room double bed with ensuite. The room was basic with a 52cm tv, chair, two side tables with lights and an ensuite.
The room was very clean including bedding and ensuite it also included bedding and towels.
Yes i know it sounds basic but at $89 night for 2 people. During the summer school holiday period mind you! Its is an absolute bargin.
We also had diner at sporties bistro. Sporties had a burger night for its specials. $15 for burger, chips and a pot of beer (10 oz).
It wasnt the best burger i have had but for $15 including a beer it tasted great.
I have given Sporties 5 star based on service and quality offered at the price point.
I’m giving these guys 5 stars just purely out of their customer service. The rooms may not be luxury but we were just so grateful to be allowed to check in super early. We had a very early flight from Melbourne to Launceston and arrived at Sporties before 9am. Check-in normally isn’t until 2pm but we thought we would try our luck and see if they could at least take our bags. As it turned out, they were more than welcoming (!) and checked us in straight away. The place is clean and quiet with a beaut view. We are looking forward to taking advantage of the friendly pub downstairs for dinner with a beer! We would gladly come again. Cheers guys!
