Somerset on the Pier Hobart reviews
51We stayed here on the last couple of days of our Tasmanian honeymoon and this was a highlight for us. We cannot fault the staff, cleanliness of the rooms nor the facilities. It is so close to fabulous dinning and sites. We will most definitely stay there again. Highly recommend.
A little on the pricey side, but the room is very spacious and has many handy features, great location, staff are great
Always love staying here. Service is fantastic, location is excellent. Rooms are a little tired but they're about to do an update.
One of the pricier places to stay in Hobart however don’t bother unless you want a thumping nightclub with bad music and screaming bogans in your bedroom! Reception are not useful, they advised the hotel is situated on an active pier and you should expect to hear Iggy Azalea at 11.30pm whilst you’re trying to sleep. Hopefully Reception are not shocked and ‘expect’ my complaint in the morning. Will also follow up with Qantas as they promote this as a place to stay through the frequent flyer program. What a stitch up on all fronts!
Ensure you enquire as to what room you have been allocated, rooms 1,2,3,4 are located over the bar and you will hear nothing but pumping music, yelling and screaming drunks all night. Reception cannot help. Avoid at all cost, so many other places in Hobart to stay.
Lovely place to stay in Hobart for the night, close to food and bars and a gorgeous pier view. Hot showers, own washer/dryer and super comfy bed. The only downside was the breakfast the next morning, organised through the hotel but came in a takeaway bag and boxes, which is something we could have just done ourselves so didn't feel overly personalised or the "hotel experience" (maybe due to covid?). I would stay again!
No hot water and poor heating.
The reception staff were lovely however, no hot water in shower or sinks when we went to shower in the morning and the heater failed to keep the room warm during the night.
The beds were terrible and sunken in the middle.
The cleaner in the morning was openly hostile and rude to our cab driver upon checking out.
Super disappointing experience. Would not recommend.
Great hotel;
Nice big rooms, not brand new, but definitely not dated. Has kitchen & bath. Amazing location, right in the heart of Hobart. 5/5
Room was not bad hot water in the shower had no pressure, bed not comfartable, birds were very noisy on the roof all night, not enough parking would never go there again.
Excellent location. Apartment very quiet and clean with really comfortable beds. Highly recommend and would make a return visit.
My husband & I were very fortunate to stay at the Somerset Hobart when the boarders had just reopened briefly in December. We had the the most amazing experience. The accommodation, views & staff were first class. There was a hiccup with our accommodation when we arrived, the staff went beyond to make our stay one we will never forget. We look forward to visiting Hobart again & without a doubt will want to stay here. Exceptional value, location & staff. Thank you so much!
We loved the location.right on the marina and so close to transport and restaurants. The rooms were spotless. The staff very friendly. We will stay again.
Great location and friendly staff. Could benefit from a renovation at some stage, and beware street noise travels from Salamanca.
Loved the location and outlook to the marina. We splurged with nice accommodation for our honeymoon which the staff acknowledged with a complimentary bottle of champagne, a nice touch. Had full washing clothes facilities in the room.
Being very spiritually sensitive people, the spiritual vibe in a place is just as important as everything else. We found this property to have good vibes and we really enjoyed our time with God here on an overnight stay.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were friendly and helpful, rooms clean, great view from the balcony, close to the wharf and Salamanca. The only issue was parking at peak times Fri/Sat. Would definitely stay here again.
Good location, big room with a kitchenette, table and living room. Rooms have washer/dryers and the bedroom is in a loft. Would recommend getting a room with a balcony. Fun to people watch at the restaurants below.
Overall a well run hotel. The staff are friendly the rooms are always clean. The beds are so comfortable. Mini bar is like anywhere else overpriced but well stocked and items are in date (which if you travel a lot you know this isn’t always the case). Also is this not an amazing view to wake up to?
We found apartment excellent and clean host very friendly and helpful excellent views over water close to all restaurants and main shops
This place is awesome, staff are really accommodating and friendly, so many places to eat and drink within a 5 minute walk.
