Staff member was so friendly and helpful. The Tower is so interesting. I didn't feel that comfortable climbing a timber staircase, but my partner went up and said it was very cool. He got a cute sticker as a little reward for making it which is a nice touch.

Unreal views from top and you have to try the amazing scones in the tranquil courtyard. Nice people.

Whole family absolutely loved this place. 4th visit to Hobart and only just discovered this place by accident driving past. The tower is completely original and authentic. Completely terrifying to walk up, in a good way, I'll let you discover for yourself. Needless to say, some of us made it to the top and some of us chickened out A must visit for all the family. The tea room was amazing such a cute place with actual wood burning fireplace. Service was friendly and the tea selection was vast. Tea was served properly with additional boiling water to adjust to taste, plus the scones and jam were delicious. Just how Devonshire tea should be! Beautiful fresh cut flowers on every table and Royal Albert fine china completed the experience. One of the best things we've done on this holiday

What an incredible place. The tower climb is well worth it. It's a long climb and remember to count the stairs. Also check out the surprise at the bottom! Make sure you have some scones - they are massive and so light! Owners are lovely and very friendly. Stop here, you will not regret it!

Nice spot for a quick visit. Didn't get the time for the hike up the tower but looks like it would be a great experience.

Devonshire tea was amazing. Coffee was hot and strong, waffles were divine, absolutely lovely, peaceful place for a morning tea on the way to Kingston Beach.

3.5 stars.
Pretty cool place. Very old staircase up the tower which is very cool to see but terrifying to climb for someone afraid of heights haha. Super cheap too, less than $10 each. Worth a look if you're in the area.

I had a leisurely walk of about 9000 steps from Sonningview to the Shot Tower where I was warmly greeted and served scrumptious scones and tea on pretty china plates. Sitting out in the garden was delightful. Caught the bus back.

In fortunately closed for renovations. No notice of this on site. Had it on my itinerary of places to see well before arriving in Hobart. Looked interesting from the outside.

The best Devonshire teas are served here. So special to be served up in stunning vintage bone china tea cups and saucers. The scones are home made and very delicious as well as filling. Historic setting, elegant decor and beautiful flower arrangements. Love it?

Although not a long trip, it's very interesting and fun. Climbing all those stairs and then standing on top a viewing platform with amazing views. It was well worth the $8 entry. And some interesting history to learn about the land.

This is a great little stop to admire the structure and take on the views. The walk up the steps is not too awful if you are not in a rush. They are a little uneven, but the rail is sturdy and the view is worth it. Reward yourself with the best, fluffiest scones you have ever had downstairs in the Cafe afterwards!

Steps were close together so easy climb on legs and knees. Interesting historic location. Excellent views from the top. Very nice English style Tearoom at the bottom.

Nice historical location. Parking is right besides the tower and you can climb the tower. They also serve an excellent Devonshire tea. The climb is fairly long and narrow. We all made it without problem. The stairs have less rise then standard modern steps. We didn't like the way the stair treads bent slightly when we stepped on them.it was only slight, but it made us feel uneasy.

Incredible tower. To think that MEN have made this TALL tower! When you look up inside it; it looks so high. I gradually went up it. Looking down from the top is scary & I had 'jelly' legs! I went down to the bottom of the tower, too! The entrance staff are friendly & lots of souvenirs. The Cafe there is nice & the chap who runs it, is friendly & obliging. He has about 50 different teas!
