Ship Inn Stanley reviews
61We booked one night staying in the Van Dieman apartment - when we opened the door we realised how special this was. The attention to detail and the decor is stunning, while still relaxing. We quickly contacted Kerri to see if we could stay 2 nights - this has to be the best place we have stayed. We loved Stanley itself, we had wind and rain but the whole town is very cosy. We hope to come back
Fabulous room with a big comfy bed and excellent view (we stayed in the Lyons Retreat). Lovely fresh bread and muesli fixings for breakfast. Friendly and accommodating owners and staff:)
Well appointed, cosy, comfortable mattress, heater works well. Amazing views from Cape Grim room.
Stunning gardens, guest lounge was very inviting.
Met Alastair the host, very friendly.
Short walk to restaurants and The Nut.
This Inn may be the best place I have ever stayed. The rooms are stunningly comfortable, the provided breakfast delicious, the garden at the back enchanting and the guest lounge intoxicating! Do yourself a favour and stay here!
Warm, cosy and beautifully appointed. Wow, what an amazing place. We stayed in ‘Roaring Tom’s’ two-bedroom apartment. Just stunning. And the little extra touches of loaves of artisan bread, jams, TAS honey etc, made this place a 5/5 for us.
The Ship Inn is an absolutely amazing experience! A beautiful set of rooms with an amazing guest lounge, nestled amongst the backdrop of The Nut in Stanley, Tasmania, one of the prettiest small towns in the world! A must do experience for everyone!
Definitely 5 stars in my book, delightful and hosts with stories of and who have created a beautiful ambiance of an historic hotel/apartments in Stanley. Recommended highly
3 nights in Van Diemen Apt - faultless! Stunning decor, views from every window, comfortable bed and furnishings and private deck looking out over the garden and the Nut. Already planning our return visit. Sincere thanks to the very thoughtful hosts.
Was fine but I was harassed to sign Petetions. There are huge billboards everywhere which vandalises the landscape and the iconic views. I don’t want to see your political views everywhere whilst I am on holiday especially climate change denial stuff
We stayed in the Bayview suite - excellent well appointed rooms - all very nicely done. There are some really excellent communal rooms that are quite stunning - amazing eye to detail throughout, no expense has been spared.
Absolutely awesome boutique inn.probably the best accommodation we've ever stayed in on our travels.huge regret on arriving that we didn't book a few nights to share with friends or family, that would be amazing!
Just spent three nights at the Ship Inn in Stanley and my only complaint was that we should have stayed longer! The accommodation was impeccable, the interior finishes were perfect, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast supplies were spot on.
Stanley's historic rugged maritime character theme is well presented while providing cosy warmth to return to after a day out. Obviously much effort has also been made in garden/landscaping and building maintenance. We enjoyed breakfast provided.
Lovely spot with all bases covered. I stayed in the Moo-Nut-Re-Ker room which has a little kitchen and backyard. Indulgent guest lounge free to use between 8 am - 9 pm. Check in and out seamless, delicious breakfast, quiet, interesting history, good location and warm.
Cosy, straight out of an English village, one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed.
Wow, Wow, Wow! The ship Inn is an instagrammers haven it is beautifully curated and they have absolutely nailed every single detail. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
The creators and owners of the Ship Inn really need to be congratulated on creating a wonderful space to stay and relax and making Stanley a destination.
If you stay at the Ship Inn you will not be disappointed. A truly amazing place.
Beautiful place-we stayed in The Lyons Retreat and it was so luxurious, clean, stylish and quirky. Washing machines and dryers including washing detergent free which was so handy. They have bikes to borrow-the gym is fully kitted out with yoga, boxing and weight equipment and bike, rower and treadmill.
Everywhere clean and tidy. We brought a bottle of wine to their guest loungeroom and lit the fire and used their gorgeous glasswear. Breakfast -beautifully paper wrapped sourdough, butter and jam. Nespresso machine, real milk and coffee in each room. Yoghurt, poached Nashi pear and rubarb for breakfast and apple juice-perfect! Overall an amazing experience and would highly recommend!
Me and my partner stayed one night in the beautiful Roaring Tom’s apartment, although we truly wish we would have stayed longer! Everything was carefully considered, from the storytelling of the different rooms, to the interior and the homemade breakfast basket. The location is terrific and we had a lovely scenic bike ride with bikes borrowed from the hotel. Don’t forget to check out the guest lounge if you visit! We loved sitting there with a cup of tea after a day of exploring. Can’t wait to be back!
Started in the Cape Grim Room which was very cosy. Beautiful little touches that made our stay perfect and a great view as well. Absolutely loved Stanley and wish we had more time there
A cosy room very well presented, enjoyed bread and breakfast provisions, however being a very old building and we were on the bottom floor, We could hear people above and next door to us and we were conscious not to make too much noise.
Stanley is a quaint place to visit and a walk on the "nut" was well worth it.
