Shamrock Hotel Hobart

8 of us went to Shamrock and 8 of us will not return. Scotch fillets (3 of them) inedible and mainly grissle. I asked for veges with mine, got chips. After 2 bites of steak, realised there was no point in trying to chew it any further put plate aside and went across the street to Curry House and ordered take away, to take home. Didnt bother asking for it to be changed as waitress was in a foul mood and dropping the plates on the table from a height that made a loud clanging noise. We were respectful to her and not abusive to deserve that treatment. DEB mashed potatoe, vegetales straight out of a frozen packet. Worst pub meal ive been to in Hobart. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Highly recommend the Shamrock Hotel for delicious meals at great prices. Jake the barman suggested the Thai Beef Salad as the menu's hidden gem and it didn't disappoint - a huge serving with quality ingredients. Amazing! My partner enjoyed a burger, which he literally couldn't wrap his mouth around. Fabulous tucker. Thanks Jake and crew.

The salt and pepper calamari made me throw up and it was very salty.
The steak was raw and the chips were cold when we got them.
Cleanliness needs to be addressed, they don’t clean anything in here. The floor is hairy and dusty, the bathrooms are disgusting and the cutlery had crusted food still on it.
Spend your money elsewhere, it’s full of bogans for a reason.

Raw steak. Returned it they pretty much said what do you expect for 10. I expect it to be cooked. Geesh.

The Bar staff were quick to say yes and get us a table within 10 mins. Couldn't believe it. As the place was packed! What a lovely place! Good old fashioned counter meals, well priced, good serving size and good range. Staff friendly and helpful. I will take my friend back there as it was just superb.

First time at the Shamrock last night and we were impressed. Half price pints between 4-6pm Thursday and Friday. The food portions were massive. $14 for the burger and $21 for the monster Parma. Tasted like any other standard Parma I’ve had over the years (not the best I’ve had though) but a much better price and portion size. Will be back. Cheers.

Food was average just like every other pub, but the chips they were on another level. Mushroom sauce was devine.

Cozy and welcoming Public Bar with a restaurant that serves amazing food at sensational prices. No trip to Hobart is complete without a visit to the Shamrock Hotel.

Best Counter Meals on Hobart. Great Staff who provide excellent service and Banter.
A wonderful ambiance, abundant in local laughter and warm.

Another delicious meal had. This is our regular. My partner likes his steak blue and over the 2 years of eating here, he has never been disappointed. We don't try new pubs as nothing compares to Shamrock's quality and price in town. One of my favourites!

Everyone new in town have to visit Shamrock and try the Shamrock Burger.

A gorgeous cheap and cheerful local with bar meals, log fire and even has some very basic hidden budget hostel style accommodation upstairs in the CBD.

Great classic pub aesthetic. Free Chicken Parmi on your birthday! The $10 bacon cheeseburger is a banger every other day of the year too haha

Disappointing meal, the meal size left me feeling very let down. Wouldn't hurry back as there has got to be better value in Hobart.

What a gem! Fantastic meals, great prices, wonderful atmosphere and super friendly staff. What more could you want in a cute corner pub. Love it, love it, love it.

WOW! Not one to eat take a ways often. But just had a beef Parmi, Chip's and Salad, A Chicken Parmi, and Vegetables, And Pavlova, Ice cream and Strawberries. Very Reasonable prices, And the meat was so Tender, Salad was so crisp and fresh, Great Service. Well worth a visit.

Three adult meals one child meal, all cooked to perfection, amazing staff made the night, thank you shamrock and staff.

Delicious food, friendly staff, great atmosphere! Highly recommended and will be coming back! Would also recommend booking as super popular!
