Had the seafood plater for one. It was too big for me to finish.
Nice mix of fresh and cooked seafood.
Batter was nice.

From the bar and restaurant being empty at 1230pm at lunch. My hopes weren't high for the food. I was right. The steak I ordered was probably the worse steak I have ever eaten. I useto come in for a meal a few times a week but stopped as the food had gone down hill. I thought after a year the food would have picked up its standard but I was wrong. Will never return here for a meal and I highly recommend anyone wanting to eat here to pick somewhere else. Save your time and money.

Good choice of fresh beer.
Tried steak and chicken parma, quite average, will not come back.

Me and my mate where hungry af, had no lunch, and had a three course meal there. Food was absolutely buzzing, maxi parmi, fish of the day and steak sandwich. All this wrapped up with a jug of great Tassie beer just sealed the deal. 74 dollars for two giants, good bang for the buck

My disabled husband and I went there for lunch today.
The staff were very friendly and efficient, but the food was very sub standard.
No lemon or tartare sauce for my husband's fish and chips.
The $16 rump I could fit on the palm of my small hand and half of it was fat and bristle.
The salad was beyond basic, just a bit of lettuce, carrot and tomato, No cucumber or an olive or dressing. Very poor. When I said something I was told that's what you get for $16!

You go to the pub for a countery and a drink not to listen to noisy little brats. Yes I asked the staff if we could be seated elsewhere and they were very obliging. Thanks - and the food was great too

Yet again great food and service always with smiles and humour, I couldn't recommend highly enough. Just finished another fantastic meal at the Shamrock 16th December 2022, great stuff.

I go here twice a month, it has the best pub grub around and cheap as. Lynne and the staff are superb I only have to walk into the bar and my drink is ready for me.

Oct 2022: great food and good service. This is an old style country pub, in the city centre. A relic from the past, yet iconic in its own special way. The roaring fire is always welcomed and makes this place feel cosy and comfortable.

Large menu range plus large specials range, and the service was really prompt. Awesome steak and ribs!

Came at peak lunch time, so very busy, but the staff made it look easy. You'll get everything you want at this Irish Australian pub, we had the Shamrock burger and the grilled fish of the day, which was barramundi. The burger is huge, and tastes great, just need to use a knife and fork. Barramundi was nice, but a little dry. Sides and beers were equally tasty. Overall, a great pub.

Solid pub meals, a central go to the Shammy is a favourite place for a work team lunch, be sure to book a table unless solo and grabbing a front bar seat if ones free.

Can't rate the food or service highly enough, and the value was amazing! We were so impressed, that even though we were only in Tassie for 4 days, we ate dinner here twice! The steaks here were better than one of the supposed "high end" resturants we ate at in Hobart!

The service was excellent and the food was delicious I had seafood basket and for dessert banana slit

Don't know about the accommodation, but the food is good and reasonably priced and the staff have always been very friendly! Highly recommend!

Always come and visit this restaurant and always have great service and staff very friendly and happy.

Good service, food was awful. Chicken schnitzel cooked to a crisp, steak was tough definitely an old dairy cow. Never again. Caesar salad was nice.

For your standard pub meal it's a good place.nothing fancy just standard pub meals which is good, none of this over doing it with stuff they can handle like a lot of establishments these days.

Visiting from WA. Had the beef schnitzel and a couple pints. Huge feed, and top quality taste too! Great price for what you get!

Great staff, great environment, great prices however, the meals itself were average. Roast was good, steak was undercooked. In Their defence, it was a 550gram steak. Only 27 dollars
