Shambles Brewery reviews
50 A rewarding walk out of the CBD, with a great selection of food and beer. An increased number of IPAs kept me content.
There is a great function or group space out the back with the brewery stainless steel on show, and pingpong!
The food was scrumptious, staff were friendly. Due to a large booking out the back our table of 11 wasn’t served together and this was disappointing.
Dropped in for a brew after dinner.
Nice layout and great service. Beers we chose where as described and excellent.
Will go again
Such a lovely way to spend a rainy Saturday evening. Shambles always delivers. We came along specifically to try the new porter and the blackcurrant sour, both were delicious. First time trying the firecracker mushroom wrap. I am still thinking about it. Can’t wait to come back and have another one.
Large brewery with plenty of sitting and good service. They have a good range of beers but main Ales.
I really enjoyed the beers, but it is highly apparent that there has been some cost cutting in the food department. Used to be a highly enjoyable burger perhaps even my favourite, but unfortunately, it is now a bland dry mess. Really a shame because I love the venue and the vibe and the beers: (u hurt me
I do love the selection of beers available at the Shambles Brewery. Tonight I had the Coffee Stout and it was a fine drop. The butterfly gin my drinking partner had was a pretty nice drop as well. With the fire warming the room it was a great night out
One of our favourite stops on our holiday! Extremely friendly and helpful staff, delicious food and drinks (ordered the wings, pulled pork tacos and beer tasting paddle), excellent value. Thanks guys for a great experience
Visiting from Qld and very glad we did. Great beer and my wife has left me for their Mac and cheese! Do yourself a favour and come here!
If you love beer and tasty treats Shambles has you covered. My favourites are definitely the IPA and their Summer Ale. They are constantly making something new and the food is the beez kneez. The loaded fries and burgers are enormous and always good. Most weekends they also make a new weekend special dish and they always sell out. Too good!
Great service, great beer, great atmosphere. Be sure and read the legend on the wall, it’s hysterical.
Only attended for the beer, did not have any food on this occasion. I love craft beer and attend breweries to try "left field" offerings and beers that you can't get at the bottle shops. This brewery only seemed to have one "special" brew; the rest seemed to be core range, which was a bit disappointing. Overall the beers were nice and it was a good venue.
5 stars for the beer selection. If you don't know Shambles beer you should. Good food: big serves of tempura veg and popcorn chicken. Enjoyed the buffalo wings and the burgers looked great. Minus 1/2 star for a lack of atmosphere, although function area looks great. Anyway.the beer! Best Brewery in TAS if you ask me.
This was an all round great experience.
Welcoming bar person. A bit of light banter about the cashless system.
Very good brews and a superb spicy chicken burger. The 4 paddle rasting was only $12 compared to the $22 I just paid dpown the road
Definitely worth a visit if you're into craft beers and a casual brewery vibe. Staff were knowledgable and provided good recommendations. They also have a selection of board games you can play.
Great selection of beers and wine. Also a very nice citrus stezler. Tried the mac and cheese, was creamy and delicious.
Awesome beers. We bought two paddles and tried the entire range. The only ones we didn’t like were the sour and the seltzer!
First up; the beer is good. Definitely drop by for a beer. Avoid the food! Stopped by during the week and was treated to the worst burger I’ve had in my life. The cheeseburger was served up on a supermarket “Tip Top” hamburger bun, doused with excessive mustard and tomato sauce. Looking at other pictures here, it seems the tip top bun is not usually served. I wish they told me when I paid close to 20 bucks for a burger that they didn’t have proper buns. The result was tearing off a third of the bun as it was too big for the pattie. A sloppy, saucy mess of soggy bread was left on the plate. I let old mate know it was awful, which was met by “sorry mate”. Surely whoever was in the kitchen knew that they had served up garbage.
Plenty of great joints to eat in Hobart, this isn’t one of them. Waste of money.
Good on Chef Jonno and his crew.
Great special, delicious evergreens with a twist.
All super tasty and perfectly paired with the delicious beers.
If you attend a private function, be aware there is no smoking area available where you can take your drink - however if you buy your drink at the public bar, is all good go outside and chuff away rather weird even if it's just the licence rules just can ask smoking idk
