Raincheck Lounge reviews
64Had a most enjoyable breakfast after attending Hobart ANZAC Day Dawn Service. Good food, good service.
Popular and long standing eatery and Cafe with an outstanding staff team, good breakfast menu to 3pm daily and dinner, small plate options. Wine of the Week is always great value and quality.
It's such a nice place I was so relaxed tat I fell asleep with my coffee, which was just what I needed I guess, lol! And the staff didn't rush me out or anything.
Fun cafe that offers abit of everything, and all is delicious! I sat outside in the autumn sunshine on the street, which was very comfortable. Fast and friendly service too
Given two stars instead of one because it was very busy this morning so I guess that may have played a part in the below average brekkie my partner and I had there this morning. $12.50 for a poached egg on toast, which I thought initially not too bad a price (picturing a decent size egg and toast) But the egg was pretty much hard inside and crumbly, and even though the toast it came out on was small, there was barely enough egg to toast ratio. Thankfully I had saved a little of my coffee despite the long wait for brekkie to arrive, so I was able to at least wash it down with some form of moisture. It was only worth $5 imo. I topped it up 30mins later when I got home. Maybe I should have added the bacon at the additional cost of $5 for a piece…. My partners raisin toast (at $8.50) was equally as small in portion, although the cinnamon butter in the little dish (the only thing that came in ample portion) was devine.
Definitely not the same Raincheck goodness of my last visit 4 years ago.
Wonderful service! Delicious food! We came in on an extra busy Saturday morning, and despite the chaos and hustle were still served and seated in great time and by super friendly staff! Fantastic venue made so by fantastic staff.
Walked in here hoping it would at least have nice coffee and discovered that not only was the coffee excellent, my rosti stack thingy was divine. Also the waitress who looked after us actually seemed interested in helping us and enjoying her job. She was excellent. We'll be back.
Lovely atmosphere, delicious food at very reasonable price.
Coffee, we drink long black, was one of the best we have had and nice and hot.
It was lunch on a Tuesday, not very busy, but service was slow, however staff were friendly!
Just spent the most wonderful evening dining here with a friend, enjoying the Christmas Chef’s Table (both the standard + vegetarian menus) - highly recommend!
Delicious food, excellent service, cosy atmosphere - well done all round.
Raincheck lounge has a great menu, which changes regularly. Not too expensive. I've had the rosti was delish.
Great coffee and really lovely service.
Raincheck is one of my absolute favourite cafes in Hobart. It had been a while since going for breakfast and I was not disappointed! The food is always spot on. My breakfast burger of pulled pork, halloumi, egg and hash browns was bloody delicious! The coffee is always excellent and the staff are some of the best around. Do yourself a favour and head there for breakfast, lunch or dinner!
Wow and wow … Rain check lounge is a refreshing change to the ordinary in Hobart. The whole scope of excellence warrants a review like this … the food, the wine and the step back but attentive service … a rare commodity… but the bench mark here by which others fall so short. Rain Check lounge … it’s important you go there … enough said … they will quantify your expectations
This is my lunch a savoury muffin! Not sure I wanted big chunks of pumpkin with skin on! Not appetising at all, very disappointed.
Really enjoy eating there. Place has a nice atmosphere and very welcoming these days. Would recommend.
Best coffee I've had in Hobart! Love the option for an extra shot for one of those days
Staff are really welcoming and the place is always busy.
It has been about 5 years since I've been here and it's now under new ownership. I just had a large cap and a beef burger. The service was every bit as good as before and the food maybe even a little better.
The serving was actually way more than I could eat so no problems there.
Just had my first coffee at this funky establishment.it was awesome. Will be back to check out food and drink options, which look great from the menu I read.breakfast and lunch options.
Update 17th May 2021 - Came back for breakfast and had Eggs Benedict.they blew my mind. I need 6 Stars for this cafe.they even give you a steak knife for the sourdough.that’s an amazing care factor!
First time there, had good coffee and a sweet treat. Staff very friendly and water placed on table, would recommend.
Food good, (all agreed - with various dishes). Personally I was disappointed with the coffee, (but that is based on personal preferences) but others were OK with it. Overall, very satisfactory
Good coffee. Good range of desserts (the citrus tart was pretty good!). Inside and outside seating. Friendly staff. Quick service.
