Raincheck Lounge reviews
64 Incredible food, veggie options are spot on.
A good Negroni in North Hobart is hard to find too!
The mid aged server was abrupt, rude and bluntly gruff. The Asian server was impeccable, manners, personality and swift to respond. I feel that the male server was the owner, if so he certainly needs to look at the mirror and retrain himself in basic manners, warmth, wanting his patrons to feel wanted. He let himself and the venue down. BTW there were only 12 patrons in total.
I've explored the city's food culture up and down, and this was, undoubtedly, the best breakfast I've ever had in Hobart. Absolute 10/10 mushroom rosti!
I have honestly not enjoyed a coffee and breakfast this much in as long as I can remember. Legit left me on a high, they were both SO GOOD. Had the mushroom rosti and can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu. Don’t normally leave reviews but was so stoked with the coffee and the meal I felt compelled. Service was also lovely. 12/10 would recommend.
I went for a sneaky little breakfast this morning. It was one of the loveliest café experiences I’ve had in a long while. The staff were all really friendly and happy. Fresh flowers on all the tables. Great batch brew. Food was incredible (especially the truffled mushrooms on rosti) and Bloody Mary’s were delicious and also hilarious as the bartender said he just felt like sticking a whole tree in the glass! The entire restaurant was looking at us as they arrived! It was quite a fun spectacle! Very dramatic it put us all in a great mood. Highly recommended.
Always enjoy the atmosphere here in funky North Hobart. On the day we visited service was a bit slow but I think they were understaffed. Worth visiting - eggs were cooked well and coffees always good.
FAULTLESS!
Thank-you rain-check for the most divine food! Well worth a visit! Try everything, as its all way beyond delicious. X

Organic sourdough: Topped with hummus, it was light and delicious.
Karaage fried chicken: Tasty, but too salty, so you have to neutralize it by eating it with mayonnaise.
Lamb croquettes: It was lukewarm, plain, and had a strong lamb croquettes.
Porterhouse steak: I ordered medium rare but it came out medium. It was an ordinary steak.
Roast pumpkin: It was a great combination of halloumi, spinach, and sour pomegranate sauce. It was good to finish the greasy menus until now.
Chocolate mousse: It was sweeter than expected, so it was a little burdensome to eat it all.
Considering the price of $50, the cost performance was okay. The atmosphere is perfect for a date.
It took 2 hours to finish all the meals, but the menu serving interval was too long. In the case of chicken and croquettes, each person can eat one piece with a fork twice, but it was embarrassing to wait for the next menu after eating it all. I don't think I ate a lot, but I ate slowly for a long time, so my stomach was moderately full. However, the details such as overly salty food, overly sweet food, and grilling control of the steak were quite disappointing.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience. We were a group of four and each meal was totally delicious and perfectly presented. Service was attentive and friendly.
Very tasty decaf latte with smart and excellent services.
I visited here in a rainy morning, which is very lovely.
It is not easy to find a place open for hot coffee/ chocolate after 4pm. Raincheck was a welcome find after a busy day. In fact, the staff were so lovely that we returned for dinner. The Tokyo Bowl was delicious as was the Felafel Bowl. We felt very much at home there.
Awesome restaurant with great character, local charm and amazing food. I had their chef's table, delicious! Great place to go with friends for share plates and cocktails or somewhere to go on a not too formal date.
Love Raincheck can always guarantee great food and service - never disappoints! Had the chefs table last night - delicious and such great value. Whether you want a quick take away coffee, breakfast, lunch, or dinner - Do yourself a favour and visit this Hobart institution you won’t regret it
Coffee, service and atmosphere was amazing. Loving the new breakfast menu - highly recommend the Stack and the Spaniard. Thank you for a great Father's day!
Always good food with a nice atmosphere.
A great spot for a meal & drink before going to the State Cinema also
ALWAYS GREAT! Friendly service, excellent coffee and delicious Bloody Mary's. The Chefs Table experience is such a good night out- the wine list is sensational!
From entry to exit there was great service. Great coffee, great food with a chilled and cruisey atmosphere. Easy done!
Great price, great coffee and a super tasty variety on the menu. Staff are always smiling. Couldn’t ask for more.
I have eaten here a few times this year and the coffee and food is constantly enjoyable.
The staff are friendly and provide a comfortable and relaxing dining experience.
Great work team.
Warm Regards
Chris
Friendly service, comfortable atmosphere, and food was delicious while not breaking the bank. I had mushroom rosti and citrus juice - both were perfect
