Puddleduck Vineyard reviews
61I would give this place 3.5 stars (on my scale that is between good and great) if I could as the location is very nice, service was friendly and speedy. This would be a great place for very young families. Subjectively the wine wasn't to my taste but as I say subjective and YMMV. Worth checking out!
Stop here for quick lunch. Loved the food and wine here. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The wine we had was also very nice.
This place is wonderful definitely recommend food, service is outstanding definitely be back wines are so good.
Such a great experience! Beautiful setting, awesome wines and the staff are super friendly, passionate about their products and knowledgeable! Loved the riesling and rosé, and the bubbleduck!
Beaut spot this one. Loved it. Good ones. The makers are friendly and fun with their knowledge. And pies were lovely.
So much busier than I expected! Seem to do lots of functions now but plenty of seating so we were still seated without booking
Online ordering system wouldn't load at the table so I did just have to walk up to the counter as usual
Wine tasting was really nice and food was delicious. Gift shop is great
Bought some white wine here.
My wife doesn't usually drink wine, but she said the wine here was delicious.
It was actually delicious.
Absolutely stunning family ran winery, child friendly. Enjoyed a delicious mulled wine and a local cider, cheese platter was to die for, pepper berry paste and relish was mind blowing. Friendly service, a must visit.
This is such a nice vineyard! Lots of flying ducks here too the wine tasting was just $5 for five wines, with an short explanatory from the staff, which was pretty awesome. The atmosphere of the place was really nice, and a lot of things for children to do to keep them entertained. They also sell duck food so you can feed the ducks.
Nice looking place. Good designer initially I guess.
Service was atrocious.
We paid for a wine tasting and were only served one wine tasting (of 5) in 40 minutes. The other people who were tasting at the same time (not with the 6 of us) just got up and left. We politely went in to let them know we just didn’t have time to wait that long for each tasting, but they said we had to pay for the full 5 pour tasting anyway, which we did.
If you can’t service the customers, don’t charge them for it.
Puddleduck was a decent spot to sample the local drop in North Greater Hobart, but it wasn't the favourite.
We probably set a record for fastest bar sampling time, the staff were literally running around trying to get to everyone. Seems like it could do with a nicer/larger dedicated area for the basic tastings since we just used a little space next to the cash register, we were standing in the way of a number of people trying to buy things.
The grounds were lovely and of course there were enough ducks for everyone to enjoy.
After the basic $5 for 5 wine sample session, we bought the pinot noir which was delicate and very drinkable.
Maybe we caught them on a super busy day. Worth a stop if you're doing the tour overall.
Friendly staff, great surrounds with both decked and grassed areas. Duck feeding and a small kids playground available. Not the cheapest meals but the food was delicious.
Staff were very rude despite their own error of table numbers. Minor mistakes were treated as a large scale issue.
A really beautiful and fun winery to visit. The wine variety is really interesting, and the staff are especially friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the wines. Especially Will (better known as Willis.). There are also many ducks. It's great.
We attended on a Saturday without making a booking. It was clearly busy but they made an effort to squeeze us in. They were polite and accommodating. We had 2 wine puddles and two platters. They came out fast and the platters were yum. Thanks for having us on such a short notice. Would go again.
Fun, family-owned winery in the coal river wine region. Yes there are lots of ducks swimming in the nearby pond. You can feed them as well! The wine was top notch, especially the sparkling and the rose. The patio is child friendly. Definitely worth a visit.
Such a fantastic winery with so many gorgeous ducks. Have been multiple times now and each time the food and wines have been delicious. Today we had the vineyard platter & dukkah (pictured) which was sensational! There is outdoor seating & a playground and also undercover deck seating with heaters and an inside area. There is also a super cute gift shop with every duck related gift you could ever want.
Delicious oysters, good service and family friendly vibes. Definitely somewhere to bring the kids and have a bottle.
Wonderful setting for a vinyard overlooking a lake with plenty of ducks to entertain you as you enjoy the delicious food and excellent wines. Very pleasant staff. Indoor or outdoor dining also a covered deck area plus a great gift shop.
Great environment, family friendly, lovely wine & food & the kids loved feeding the ducks!
