Peppers Silo Launceston reviews
70Beautiful outlook over the river watching the boats float up stream. Facilities are excellent and everyone working is lovely.
A really unique and fantastic hotel! We stayed in a gorge river deluxe room, in one of the silos, and it was amazing. Beautiful curved concrete walls, extremely spacious, luxuriously appointed, quiet, and with a beautiful view. Free outdoors and on street parking was plentiful, the gym was of excellent standard, and the staff couldn’t do enough for you. Within a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk of all the best restaurants and cafes in town.
The accommodation and staff were excellent and I would recommend to stay and relax as the staff would definitely help with all requests. Amazing food to top it off.
Checked in with the dude I booked with and was met with a fist bump! Loved my room service meal and really needed the R&R. Amazing space, lovely rooms. 5*
Our 2 nights at this hotel were ruined by the crazy amount of noise that filters into your room. We could hear the people in the next room speaking and also on their phones.we could even hear the person on the other end of the phone! The weird thing is that we had a corner room, so there wasn't another room on the side where the noise was coming from? So it had to be the people in the room below or above us. This morning we were awoken by the TV at 5.30am.but it wasn't our TV! Whoever's TV it was was so clear in our room that you would swear it was our TV.
Also the air-conditioning unit is really noisy, it sounds like a small car on idle in the ceiling. Other noises were creaks and taps that didn't seem to stop, so we put this down to movement in the the building.
All this noise was really unfortunate because the hotel itself is quite nice and well located with great facilities. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and the beds are really comfy.
Another annoyance was we couldn't find any info in the room about in-room dining. We called reception and got put through to about 3 different staff members before someone told us to check the drawer under the kettle. The guide was actually in there but it was underneath some chips and chocolates and its in a dark cover so you can't distinguish it easily. A better place to leave it would be on the top of the bench near the kettle. On the subject of the kettle its also quite tall and difficult to fill from the tap in the bathroom, small detail but annoying once again for a $250 a night room.
The rooms also have 'Chromecast' so you can stream content to the TV. We couldn't get ours to work, just a blank screen when we selected it. On the last night I checked the connection on the back of the TV and found that the Chromecast was connected to the wrong HDMI port. Once I switched the port over it worked fine. Again another example of something that should be checked before every guest checks into their room.
Anyway I hope this review helps someone make an informed decision about staying at this hotel. Personally we won't be back at this venue the next time we are in Launceston.
Generally the hotel has reasonable food & rooms are of a high standard. However, the service & some of the staff are lacking due to mismanagement & poor training. Often there are long queues forming (at the cafe/bar area) due to the inexperienced staff who are badly lacking in direction, understanding of hospitality & protocols. This place is meant to represent Launceston's finest hospitality.
We were in a jam with covid state travel restrictions, and Peppers Silo came to the rescue. We were able to book them last minute and they were very friendly and super accomodating. We would highly recommend based on the great service we received.
Lovely way to start with friendly check in. And they have a resident Labrador, Archie who is adorable. We had a room in the silo section, very big room which faced the water. Staff were all very nice, engaging. Bathroom is stocked with Appelles products which I loved, and will now source for my bathroom. The hairdryer was very powerful and adequate. The room was very quiet, great furnishings. If you have children, you would be very happy to see there is one of the best kids parks I have ever seen located next door. The hotel is located within walking distance to a number of good restaurants. We had breakfast at the hotel which was really good. And not forgetting Claudio who makes the best whisky sour ever. Would be very happy to stay here again and highly recommend Silo.
Amazing views and comfortable stay. Historic significance. Hotel build on ancient Silos. Must visit place here in Launceston. Enjoy scrumptious breakfast. Happy family.
Excellent service at check in, very clean and spacious rooms, some of the latest movies are free on demand, there are great facilities and the location is perfect. We really appreciated the Easter chocolates which were left for us too. I'd recommend this place for everyone staying in Launceston. Thank you:)
Excellent location and staff. Would like to specifically single Claudio out in Woodys Bar. His nature and great rapport with the customer is a great asset to the business. Could talk more highly of. All other aspects of stay are great whether it be room, location or staff. Well done
A nice modern space for a glass of wine with friends. No views from the lobby, but a great relaxed atmosphere.
The high end of town, wowee.great atmosphere and customer service, prepare to have deep pockets for this amazing service, excellent food and experience.
Great food, great view of the Tamar river and seafront. Also there is a new platground/ entertainment venue in the works so you can sit and h a 've while watching the kids play. Accommodation is exquisite
High quality meal, breakfast just as good. Excellent room with authentic silo feel as your walls are the inside of the silo. Secure parking.
New, deluxe, unique being a Silo that has been very cleverly built around, lovely staff, first class restaurant - HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Not worth the price. Our room had a view over pretty much an industrial area when it was supposed to be river views. Cups had not been cleaned, breakfast was well below expectation. Weak coffee from a vac set up, proper coffee was at an additional cost, generally attention to detail lacking. Comfortable bed and generous sized room but at $300 we expected more.
Peppers have delivered a truly outstanding experience here. Situated perfectly near some great restaurants a short walk across the pedestrian Bridge, which is only set to increase in amenity as the extensive public park outside the restaurant decking area nears completion.
The bed is luxurious and the gym is very well appointed.
Had nothing but wonderful interactions with staff at all points in the accommodation.
Nice new hotel. Huge rooms and really well furnished. Location isn't the best but a nice walk into the CBD.
Have been many times for coffee and cake, breakfast, dinner and lunch.love the tranquility of the place. Even though large you can carry on a conversation. The restaurant is also good.
