Tiny lunch menu however the food was nice. Flies and unenthusiastic staff were a damper though.

The lodge is an excellent accommodation option. The rooms are neat and tidy, the communal areas well-designed. The restaurant / bar / lounge is a great comfortable gathering place with a spectacular view of the lake and mountains. The food is very good. There is a recreation centre with a range of games plus a heated lap pool. Easy to spend a few days in the region and enjoying the tranquility.

Best views in the world!
All within a 2.5 hour drive from Hobart and a must-visit location.
Escape the crowds and tourist traps and connect to the authentic Tasmania. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent food, staff and owner are engaging and very knowledgeable about the area, the wine and food they are selling. The Venison was outstanding, pity it is not on the breakfast menu, hahaha

Stopped here on our way back from Gordon Dam. Beautiful views and they were more than happy to cook us some hot chips even though the kitchen wasn't open yet. We will be back for dinner sometime soon.

I can only speak about the cafe, but the service was good and the coffee excellent. We were the couple that sat outside, part of that large group today!

We had a wonderful weekend as a group of 11. Staff were super friendly and any thing we asked for was no trouble at all. We took our own kayaks and an accompanying boat and had an amazing day exploring the Lake. Unreal scenery and came back to an evening by the fire with table service and beautiful meal. We stayed in a basic room but it was really clean which suited our needs at a very reasonable price. Will definitely be back.

Good little history display, nice view over lake Pedder out the font and they do a good takeaway coffee.

First off this review may not actually reflect the lodge well, however it is based on my experience.

Unfortunately when we booked there happened to be a bushfire nearby at the same time. While our stay wasn't directly effected by the bushfire it was effected due to the fire fighters using it as a base. The helicopters were in and out the entire time, however we did not notice them during the night.

Our dinner was not that great considering the price. I do believe this was because they were overwhelmed by the extra guests and couldn't keep up with orders.

Didn’t stay in the accommodation but went to the restaurant and it was very disappointing, certainly not what we expected from what we thought would be a fine dining restaurant.

Service was poor. The waiter forgot to ask us if we wanted drinks so we asked for some but they never came. They brought our mains out but forgot our starters. We told the server but instead of taking the mains away and bringing the starters they just asked if we wanted the starters taken off the bill. Since we had our mains in front of us we said ok but it left us hungry and unsatisfied. Asked again for our drinks but still they didn’t come. Didn’t even bother thinking about dessert as the staff were too hard to flag down and we figured they’d probably forget it anyway. Got a begrudging apology when we mentioned our forgotten drinks when asking for the bill. No mention or apology for the entree’s. Only one of the three waiters actually seemed to be doing anything.

Expected to sit and enjoy a few courses with drinks and soak in the view but we’d finished our sole course in 1/2 an hour without as much as a water to drink so we left very disappointed.

Seriously you can’t run a restaurant in a location like that, with prices like that, and have service like that. Nowhere near good enough.

One star for the view, which was amazing. One star for the gnocchi, which was pretty good.

I have never stayed a night here, but I have stopped here a few times while on a drive to the Gordon Dam. It is a brilliant facility in an even more brilliant location. I suggest stopping here for lunch or dinner if you're passing through. The staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming. I stopped for an afternoon snack once by myself and have a chat with a very kind lady about how beautiful the place was. I haven't stayed a night here but would not hesitate to do so as the quality of their service is second to none.

Me and a friend were travelling (at the end of June) to the amazing Gordon Dam (unfortunately a bit too late on the day because in winter season it‘s getting dark very early), on the way back there were suddenly a lot of animals on the road after sunset. We just could drive 30 km/h! But luckily we have seen not too far away a Hotel called „Pedder Wilderness Lodge“. First we were thinking to sleep in the car but it was really cold and we hadn‘t any food. So we went inside and a really nice Lady (the owner? !) suggested us not to drive further at night. She showed us two comfortable rooms and let us choose between this for a good price! We were very happy and thankful about this! Then we ate some dinner there. It was sooo YUMMY and the service were lovely too! Also the little breakfast had everything you need for a good start into the day. I loved the fresh fruit salad! Thanks to the kind man from the restaurant service who took care of us to go on well for our travels! We enjoyed that place very much and got at the end some recommendations about the area. It was such a pretty place- we missed nothing but we miss this place now! THANK YOU for everything! Mel & Jana
