Orana House reviews
54 What an oasis!
We booked at the last minute and Nina gave us a wonderful room. The accommodation is simply a dream, as described in detail in other reviews. It's a shame we didn't discover this place sooner, we'll definitely stay here next time we're in Tasmania, because the location is perfect, it's quiet and there's a parking lot.
But the special thing is the manager, who has designed everything so lovingly and, for example, prepares a wonderful breakfast, even if she has to get up extra early for it. THANKS!
We stayed at Orana House twice recently. Beautiful surroundings with lovely hospitality. From our experience, the newer rooms are larger, with larger bathrooms. However, the older front part of the house has spectacular views, well worth the smaller bathroom and cosier surrounds.
Nina was so lovely and welcoming and the breakfast was delicious! Sorry we had to leave early on our last day and didn't get to say goodbye.
A lovely guest house with excellent service from the owner, so friendly and helpful
Old fashion building with lovely gardens
Loved this older style cottage accommodation we stayed at. Most people stayed one or two nights, we stayed 6 days. Lenna, the manager, was beautiful and interactive with my daughter.we were close to shops and playgrounds. Wheelchair access. Lovely heritage building kept well. Big front garden that my daughter loved playing in. Breakfast included.
A most delightful stay in an intimate and charming house. Amazing hospitality from the host. Thanks for everything! Will definitely stay again the next time we visit Hobart
Hubby and I went here for our wedding anniversary a few years ago we lived it so much we went again on another anniversary and plan to go again. Lovely decorated rooms to suit the period of the house and gardens. I also got to meet a cute geniue pig out in the garden. Breakfast was also amazing.
Exactly where & services we expected
Lovely, clean rooms, friendly welcome & support by Nina. On the 'other side' of the bridge and that's what we wanted.
Nina is an exceptional host - friendly, welcoming and so helpful. She bakes delicious treats for guests including seeded bread, carrot cake, lemonade scones and home made yoghurt! She was happy to mind our bags after we checked out so we could explore the city for a few hours before catching a later flight.
The room was even more beautiful than we expected, the bed was comfy and everything was clean and tidy. The other guests were all polite and friendly. The communal lounge and dining room are also very lovely
Our stay at Orana house was so beautiful! Nina was a lovely host, and the house itself is gorgeous. Rooms were neat and tidy with everything we needed, and breakfast each day (whether cooked or continental) was the perfect way to start the day, especially the little fresh baked goodies each morning.
Thanks so much for having us! We will definitely be back next time we come to Hobart
We travelled in a large group and found that of all the places we stayed in Tasmania this was the most memorable and loved by all in our group. The house and gardens are absolutely stunning and Nina is the perfect hostess.
Beautiful old world mansion. Pauline and Nina were the perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfasts were delicious and varied. Close to the centre of Hobart with amazing views. We will definitely return to be spoilt again.
Nina was an amazing host. With delicious home made bread offered for breakfast every morning, and on occasions homemade cupcakes. The house is beautifully furnished with lovely views and garden. The room was clean (Ellen Pearce Room) with tea and coffee in the room. The bathroom was a little small (but clean), but more than adequate for our stay. We will stay here again the next time we're in Hobart.
We love the old charm of Orana house. The view of the harbour is marvelous. Pauline was a great host. Love the cooked breakfasts. Definitely will come back. Thanks Pauline
Beautiful place to stay - very comfortable room, lovely breakfast and so comfy to sit in front of the fire!
Paulina was an awesome host, genuine and baked me cookies to have with house coffee. Morning breakfast was nice with music and her local knowledge helpful too.
Great place to stay. Booked the John Pearce room and was able to fit the entire family I with a bed to spare. Pauline was a great host and the breakfast was great. Will definitely stay again!
Lovely character home, well maintained. Staff good for a chat about anything an very helpful. Fresh cooked or continental breakfast included with accommodation
Free parking on site
What a treat! We spent 3 days at Orana house (2 adults and 2 teenagers). We fell in love with the place and with Pauline. Dear Pauline, so welcoming, so helpful, so generous in every ways. We also loved the comfy beds, the daily homemade cookies, the breakfast, the fire place… We didn’t want to leave! And we’ll be back for sure. We would stay nowhere else in Hobart! ️
Beautiful, peaceful and just what we needed. Thank you Pauline and staff for a wonderful experience ️. Thank you for the warm welcome and special treats. We will definitely stay again and will recommend all our friends to stop at Orana House. Thank you for making our 1st Tas trip memorable. See you soon Nat & Heinrich
