Novaro's Restaurant reviews
69We enjoyed a small handcrafted soup as an amuse bouche. For entree we had scallop and crayfish ravioli although the flavour was light. The gnocchi was much better. The market fish was light and delicious and the wine list extensive. Surprisingly we did not have room for dessert. Well worth visiting for a special occasion.
Had a fantastic night. Great food at portion sizes that allowed you to sample all courses, flavours were outstanding and service great. Well worth a visit.
Absolutely delicious Italian dinner at Novaro's in Launceston. The seafood was cooked perfectly, our favourite was the tiger prawn spaghettini. We also tried their scallops, beef carpaccio, rocket salad, the abalone truffle spaghettini and quail.
Above our expectation. We were hoping for a decent Italian restaurant. We stumbled onto a great one. Genuinely high quality. Great wine and great food. Expect a good night out.
Absolutely magnificent. I don't normally eat pasta but the seafood fettuccine left my mouth watering for days!
Cute little quaint Italian restaurant with pastas and quality cooking. The wait staff were very friendly and warm, unassuming and ready to help you decide on your dish without judgement. Having had a long day out of multiple food trail eating, I had gone for several sides.
One of my favourite dishes would be the Angel Hair Pasta with Prawns, a nice soupy twist to a usual dry pasta. I would also recommend the Duck Confit for the main and found it to be very nicely cooked. Great experience and warm service.
Had dinner here with my partner while we were in Launceston. The atmosphere was lovely and the tiger prawns were cooked really well. I had the rum and ginger cocktail and that was great! Minusing a star because the dessert was lacking - it was overcooked and not well balanced.
New owners without the traditional Italian that was once the fare. Same format of formal dining but the candles are now electronic, and the attention to detail is far less personal. The recipes seem the same, but execution left delicate dishes bland. The starter arrived at the end of entree, leaving my dining companion hungry watching me eat. My main was largely inedible, porchetta with a leather skin cooked to consistency of old boot. To their credit they took it off the bill. The affogato espresso was extremely burnt and bitter, overwhelming the sweet amaretto and icecream making the whole dish bitter and unpleasant. Ok, but there are now better options for flavour and delight. The high dining tone is no longer.
Beautiful dining experience, Abolone was exquisite, local scallops and prawns prepared beautifully, loved every moment of our dining experience at Novaros, a must do when you visit Launceston
Thankyou
We so enjoyed our dinner at this lovely restaurant. Perfect for couples, very cosy and romantic! Lovely decor in an older style terrace house. The staff are so friendly, it was great to chat with Chef! Absolutely brilliant visit! Delicious food that catered for dietary needs (really considered the dietary needs and what would work taste wise)!
Absolutely brilliant visit! Delicious food that catered for dietary needs (really considered the dietary needs and what would work taste wise)! The new owners take great pride in their beautiful restaurant and menu which is very warranted! Seems like a very popular Italian fusion place in Launnie. Really small place, luckily we called to check if it’s available. Had the scallops – fresh and flavourful, angel’s hair pasta with abalone
Delicious food and great service. Probably the best pasta I have had, was definately freshly made.
Small place that had 2 sittings. Magnificent food, one of the best seafood fettuccinis. Great wine list. Great service.
Went there as an engagement present. The food was amazing the service was incredible. Even congratulating us with bubbly for our engagement.
I had to be happily rolled out of the door.
The service is exceptional. The pricing is in the higher bracket but you will not be disappointed in the food, it is excellent and worth it. Their menu is exciting and i should have gone without food during the day so I could have had entree as well as main.
It was extremely busy; a good sign. Only fault was the tacky sheet of paper on the table tops. Be prepared it is a little noisy because of so many people in one space.
I highly recommend this restaurant and will visit again.
Great cozy atmosphere, delicious food and amazing wine list, Novaro's is definitely a favourite!
Great food and great service bit small but cosy. Price is up there but reflects on the quality of food and service.
I would like to thank all the staff for the amazing time we had in Launceston and Novaro’s. We were on holidays from Sydney and had a long drive from Hobart to Launceston and we were quite hungry. The food and the service was absolutely amazing. Staff were so attentive, food was cooked to perfection and came out fast. We really enjoyed your great food and outstanding service. If you are ever looking for a place to have great food and service I highly recommend Novaro’s. Thank you
Absolutely divine! The muscles were amazing, the meat cooked perfectly and the service 100%. Love, love, love.
I've dined in many a place both in Tassie and nationally and this establishment I think is my single best experience of them all. The food was high level, classy and exceptionally good.but what really sets these guys apart from others that are of a comparable level (which is few), is the service level that comes with it and the warmth of the place. This is 10 out of 10 for me and the best all around complete package I've experienced, period.
Thanks guys, you're just at another level to the rest.
