Leisure Inn Penny Royal reviews
78Location is perfect, close to adventure park, easy on site parking.room was clean. The only problem was I could clearly hear our neighbors or guests upstairs talking, kids crying and screaming, jumping up and down. Not a good choice for light sleepers.
We had a fantastic experience at the Penny Inn, which is incredibly charming and great value. The location is really great next to the gorge, and the staff were friendly and helpful with us. The food at the tavern was also exceptional; possibly the best chicken parmi I've had. My fellow travellers all agreed that the food was great and the accomodation was fantastic. The thick walls insured the rooms were warm during our stay, and we had just a short walk to other places in the CBD. The parking was excellent too and all included. The only things I can think of to consider as faults are the internet was paid after 1GB (about 30 mins of netflix), the light from the pub was directly under the window of one of the rooms we had booked, and there was quite a lot of noise from the pub during the night as the local drunks left for their stumbles home. But we would definitely stay with the Leisure Inn on our next visit to Launceston.
Room was warm, bed uncomfortable and probably the noisiest place to try and sleep. Came home to get some sleep! Not a great experience.
We stayed here for 2 nights and were pleasantly surprised when we opened up the door to our room for the first time. The room was so spacious with a big bathroom and plenty of room to move around! It made a nice change from some of the other places we had stayed on that trip. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend.
I loved the historic nature of the rooms and rides, they made it very homey feeling and the shower had a really cool head that tells you how much water you've used and temperature it's at (I'm a tech nerd so I spent most of my showers looking at that) and they just cleaned around us, beautiful scenery and decor.
A bonus of the place is that there's heaps to do in just the hotel area, you can have a holiday just there!
Plenty of activities out back.easy access to Cataract Gorge.apartments nice.but very thin internal walls. & a coffee plunger would have been good
Full of quirkiness and characters, very different from normal hotels. It combined old and new, good facilities, professional services and reasonably priced.
Fantastic, comfortable & newly renovated apartment room. Had everything we needed. The hotel is in a great spot - the pub is great, it's a 5 min walk to the gorge, Saltwater is a 3 hat restaurant that does a killer breakfast & is just across the road, and it's only a 15 min walk to the Centre of town, if that. So glad we found this gem!
Great hotel with very nice and helpful staff. Our hotel room was super clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also clean and the shower had consistent hot water with high pressure. The location of the hotel was also great with many good restaurants within a 10 min walk. The only negative was the noise from adjacent rooms and the street. I would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future!
Interesting property but it is noisy at night since it is beside a road. I can hear neighbours talking as well.
Comfortable & cosy. Lovely long hot shower! The restaurant opposite has a great atmosphere and food.
Beautiful residence with a great view of the town or landscape wherever you look. Affordable prices. Decent room size. Great service. Parks, shops and activities within walking distance.
This place is a lot of fun and its lovely location makes it a not to miss activity in Launceston. I am feeling really good here.
Stayed one night with my partner as we passed through Launceston during our Tasmanian holiday. Staff in reception were friendly, polite and professional.
We stayed in the Gatenby room (1 double bed, TV, bathroom, air-con).
Amentities included a kettle in the TV cupboard, some tea/ coffee and sugar. However no cutlery or bowls (for those wishing to save money on eating out). We bought some dinner from Woolworths down the road. No microwave. There's also an ironing
Overall a comfortable room with everything working as it should (minus the flickering side-table lamp and occasional odd noises from the air-con.
Would definitely stay again and recommend to those wanting a different feel from the usual hotel/motel!
What a wonderful stay and a pristine location to boot. The classic style rooms with a blend of modern amenities and well thought out layout (including plates and pillows) is what makes this a unique experience. There is a hotel downstairs and everything is accessible within 10 minutes of walking. It is Launceston so things close up early. Had no complaints staying here and would like to visit again someday.
Walking distance to CBD, right next to the habour, clean room and very nice service, in debatably the best looking building in Launceston.
The ladies here were very friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay.
Very elegant accommodation, extremely nice staff, top quality rooms, I cannot believe I paid $90 a night on the weekend, only few meters away I paid $75 in a backpacker style accommodation, also the pub affiliated is excellent.
This place is amazing I have been here a few times over the years and look forward to taking my kids there these school holidays.another review coming soon!
Great place for family, very clean, fantastic service. Booked 2 rooms, one for my mum sharon and one for myself.
