Leisure Inn Penny Royal reviews
78Very tired and in some cases dirty furnishings- internal bedroom walls/floors are timber and not sound proof.
Our first night in Tasmania we stayed here. Helpful staff, great onsite restaurant and pub and right beside Cataract Gorge which we easily spent half a day exploring. Very clean and obviously the castle-like novelty was great. With an interior designer and a bit of maintenance the place could hit 5 stars easy!
Disappointing.
Beautiful location, hotel looks nice from the outside and reception staff was friendly.
Rooms are very worn down and noisy. We paid over 200$ per night and our apartment had the standard of a cheap hostel. Furniture was stained and broken. Didn't enjoy the stay.
Centrally located and the hotel looks amazing. Great price on the good size rooms as well.
Just the shower curtains keep sticking to me when fully wrapped around shower area which was a bit uncomfortable
A unique hotel, with its rustic / historic appearance, located right next to the Penny Royal Adventure park, and restaurants and pubs. Clean room, modern bathroom, typical tea, coffee, toaster, bar fridge, free to air TV. Comfortable beds and good air-conditioning. Friendly and helpful staff, easy booking and check-in, and a competitive room rate. What more would you want.
Incredibly basic accommodation. The room should really have a heat pump, microwave as standard, and the washing machine facilities should have the ability to tap a card, not many people carry cash these days and reception don't offer cash out to use the washing & drying machines, this is very antiquited and inconvenient to say the least. The car park is first in first serve basis as I found out, I understand it is shared by other businesses on the same premises but this is not good enough for the price, In summary the price doesn't reflect value for money. I give it one star for the location only.
Ideal for most needs, a strong recommendation for families and or active couples with or without children in the 6 - 12 range, the Penny Royal has a charm all of its own in the Launceston landscape, a wonder to explore and much to do. The dining options available on site are truly excellent whether you're feeling casual or more formal, great food and atmosphere to be had here, rooms clean, modern, cozy.
We paid 263.19 for two nights.
It was very cold and the aircon seems not heating up the room so hubby called the reception and they made us choose if we want to move room or borrow heater. We borrowed the heater and it helps to keep us warm.
The location is nice we do have the nice view but the downside is the kettle or the water is brown. I have to carry our 12kg suitcase through 2 flights of stairs as there no elevator. If you are light sleeper it will be better if you wear ear plug as I woke up with people talking downstair and slamming there car door.
I didn’t have good sleep my back is sore as I find the bed hard.
The receptionist are really nice and very helpful. They offered an upgrade room for free as the Hot water stop working while I was in the bathroom showering and covered with soap and my hair with conditioner. Overall experience is a bit out of fence but the receptionist are extremely helpful on our second day to make us happy.
I booked a room here for four of us, was expecting a pretty wow place for $440 a night, was very disappointed, very tired apartment, id say the stairs can't be legal? Also they make alot of noise, definitely no sneaking down to the toilet in the middle of the night, without waking everyone up, just a very average apartment, if we were paying $300 fair enough, you get what you pay for, but over 400 a night for average, doesn't cut it.
Confusing directions to find rooms. Tower was not what we expected for the price.penny royal is nothing like the ads on tv. Very dissapointing
Such a warm and inviting space. Slept very comfortable and found the are you be quiet and calm.
This is a great place to stay the staff were wonderful and friendly which is so good to see. Our room was Immaculate and we will definitely be staying again and for longer. There are plenty of places to eat a d lot's for kid's too do here.
If you want to hang around launceston with your family or friend, this is the best place to stay.
Location and surroundings are excellent and near by restaurants, supermarkets and etc.
Building itself is nice and unique. Good staff. But you can hear water pipe noise from other room, bathroom is very small.
Definitely would recommend
Adults and adults will enjoy the Area.
Good parking easy to find
Room smelt of cigarette smoke
Very noisy traffic
Nice shower
11/5 on informing staff of the issue the room was cleaned and we were provided with a complimentary breakfast basket thank you
Got messed around with our booking from months ahead 3 couples 1 double and 2 singles rooms wasn't what we booked.
Nice place to lay your head, they just need to make sure garbage pickup doesn't happen early Sunday mornings which sort of let the experience down
What a treat! The old fashion decor and architecture was delightful. Staff exceedingly helpful and nice. Good central location. You will love the rooms!
