Leisure Inn Penny Royal reviews
78 Great place with a lot of character! Stuff were friendly, rooms a bit outdated but clean and comfortable however the outside atmosphere is amazing and I would stay here again.
Excellent place for families.
Location is excellent too.
A beautiful small two floored space with cozy interiors. The location is amazing with great restaurants and visiting places nearby.
Dated. Small. Internet modem not working. Notified Reception. Not fixed as promised. Only 1 bedside table. No useable coffee table. On leaving I suggest that they should reconsider the employment of the maintenance manager.
Beautiful place to stay an attraction in itself the only downfall the windows weren’t double glazed so you could here the traffic if your facing the street. But other than that a wonderful stay and the apartments were so clean thanks to the two girls who left them spotless from memory Mel and sorry can’t remember the other lovely girl. Definitely would stay here you have everything as you were at home. Highly recommend.
Tick, tick, tick. Great rooms, cosy and warm. Friendly staff, excellent location and dining options right next door.
Stayed here three nights. The room was clean and spacious. The place a nice old building charm. The room has an office table, a small table and chairs for dining, a kitchenette with small fridge, kettle and plates, bowls and some cutlery which was handy to have our take away in the room. The bed was comfortable and the aircon worked well to keep the room warm.
The reception staff were friendly and approachable. We asked for a room with a view and our request was considered. The room given to us is a corner room in the apartments (few metres away from the main property) on the 1st floor with three windows with views of the Penny Royal adventures theme park and their artificial waterfall. The downside is while you can enjoy the views, the visitors to the theme park can view everything in the room which is a bit of privacy concern. We just closed the blinds during their busy hours which was only short periods. The noise during those busy periods can be a problem for lite sleepers.
There was ample free parking at the apartments. The zigzag track in Cataract gorge reserve is just a few steps away, so are the restaurants and cafes. The CBD is just a short stroll away too. For the price we paid it was great value for money stay.
Tip: Ask for rooms on the first floor of the apartments as the ground floor rooms don't seem to have any windows.
I’m sorry but there is nothing nice to say about our two bedroom room. We were booked in for four nights but left after the first night.
Mold all through the bathroom
Exhaust fan extremely dirty
Could use air conditioners as the filters were filthy.
Constant smell of cannabis from the neighbouring room.
Lounges so old they were very uncomfortable to sit on.
Please consider this before you read the descriptions of the room is not what you get.
Hmmm. We were booked in to the classic Queen room and where told we were upgraded to the Powder-room basically a tower next to a amusement park. Not our choice! A small smelly Faulty towers. Not like any of the nice rooms advertised or seen in these pictures online. The only photo I have is of a loo stuck together with masking tape and it leaked!
Fantastic rooms. A little out of town, but waterfront location. There may be a fair few stairs to your room, so be ready to carry your bags!
A charming motel in a relocated historic mill. The window was small (it's a historic building, it has to be!) making it hard to get any daylight, and to compensate, it seems the main room lights are overpowered: it's very hard to get a moderation of light. Other than that, all else is pretty good. The bathroom is quirky (also a feature of the historic building) but functional.the shower curtain didn't seem to keep much water inside the shower, but that's a minor problem. In all, a great stay.
Lacked in Maintenance.
Nights were -1C however the reverse cycle did not function during the night.
Normal room service was $20 extra per day so we went without.
The apartment was grubby overall.
I would never recommend a stay here.
I was disappointed overall
Wonderful hotel, we booked a 2 bedroom and that was located in the adventure park area. It was unique spot being connected to a mini Sea World (Gold Coast) but it was 100% worth it. I would love to return 1 day.
There was an issue with our original room but the staff took care of it straight away and moved us elsewhere, which worked out great anyway. Side note, the accommodation is divided between two neighbouring sites, one facing into penny royal and one by itself. We're didn't realise this until the room change happened, so that's something to keep in mind
Very expensive, very bad.
The upholstery was rudimentary.
You could hear the noise next door.
Bad experience
What a character I was stoked. I felt like I was somewhere else but Australia. Very unique architecture, I loved it, we had a great stay. I gave it a 4 since our aircon was noisy and there's water dripping from it. The shower needs cleaning and the couch is a bit tired too. But overall, we really enjoyed our stay.
- We had a late check in - everything went smoothly helped by the detailed email, maps and note from reception. The next day handed in forms to reception and the staff member was exceptional and friendly, again very smooth process.
- Room was very clean, standard furnishings, beds were comfortable. The shower pressure in our room was fantastic and water lovely and hot - really enjoyable shower after long days exploring. We really enjoyed the history and character of the building. My only negative as someone who is sensitive to allergies is the carpets, they could do with updating however since reading the responses from the team to other reviews I hear these are being updated in the coming months. This would of brought my review up to a 5.
- Perfect location to the gorge and city, excellent for exploring by foot and seeing what Launceston has to offer.
- Great access to free parking (with voucher)
- Sensational value for money, can not beat it. Recently stayed at accommodation in another state, room was shabby, uncomfortable and paid 3 x more than I did at Penny Royal.
Thanks for fantastic stay and we look forward to returning and seeing the updates.
Great place to stay. Lots of local attractions nearby, including the adjoining theme park which the kids loved.
Great 3 night stay with another family in a 2 bedroom apartment. Location, the beds and the service by Hemanta manning the concierge were all brilliant. Our timing was during the public holiday so we couldn’t take in most of what the park and the other facilities behind the inn had to offer as it was closed for the entire duration. The evening walks to the gorge with our toddler was delightful. Will definitely return.
Good location and comfortable rooms. The staff are very friendly and always ready to answer any questions would stay again
Ideal location, close to Gorge and short walk to town. Staff were helpful. Rooms need a refresh to be 3-star.
