Smell of urine coming from the toilets throughout the lounge part of the restaurant just put you off your food. Couldn’t wait to get out of there!
Food was great. I had the Guinness pie which was terrific. My partner has the Stew and as an Irish man it was on point.
Would give 5 stars but for 6pm on a Saturday it was pretty messy with plenty of tables full of empty glasses and uncleared plates. They may have been short staffed as we waited for about 15 minutes to order food and drinks at the bar and it wasn't that busy.
Great location, good vibe, live music, and of course good pints of Guinness and glasses of Hot Buttered rum.
This is NOT an irish pub! Don’t be fooled. There is zero atmosphere and when you try to have a bit of craic, you’re told to keep it down. They will kill your buzz. The little joy to be found in Hobart…. Is not here.
Wonderful old colonial Irish theme pub.food was great.atmosphere authentic.when in Hobart find time to drop in and enjoy a meal and drink or two.
Bar tender served us even though it was the penalty shoot out for the Matilda’s against France. If that’s not 5 star service then I don’t know what is.
Warm Irish pub on a cold day. Great stews, Hot buttered Rum has become a new favourite definitely recommend.
I love old pubs like this. You can just feel the history of the place. Highly recommend the curry loaded fries, perfect for a cold day.
As a bar that represent the Irish, I asked the bar staff to make an Irish whiskey. To my surprise they were not able to make this and I had to explain to them that an Irish whiskey and Irish coffe are not the same.
Great location. Cold beer and ciders in a very enjoyable atmosphere. The food was very yummy and well priced. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Very nice!
Great Irish atmosphere yet food pretty average. Had chicken parmy and nothing special. Not bad yet not great either.
Visited this pub just before Christmas, was welcomed by the owner Tom and all staff. Guinness and the pie is a must have. Great atmosphere and would 100% recommend it. Thanks for having us. Brian from Kerry and Amber
We wanted a comfortable place to have a pint and some lunch while at the Salamanca Market. Irish Murphy's was perfect! We sat at the tables outside so we could enjoy people-watching while we ate. It was perfect. I had the salt and pepper squid, Hubby had the chicken parma - both were cooked to perfection. Service was quick and friendly - we will definitely return!
Love it!
The best beef pie we ever had. It tastes as great as it looks, what a lovely surprise.
It would get a straight five if there was a sour available on tap. Otherwise it was a great venue and overall laidback & enjoyable.
It's a great indoor area if your clan is ready to enjoys drinks and a wonderful history. Atmosphere can be BYO if your a couple or alone.
Make sure you book if you plan on bringing a hoard as its difficult to get a table during peak times and it is just good manners.
A pillar of local history, the beautiful building dates back to 1812, the food was so delicious, the atmosphere was amazing and staff were more than friendly.
Great service. Lovely bar full of history. Great location. Go at happy hour is so worth it.
Delicious food, we had bangers & mash and Guinness pie, great selection of beer including Guinness
