Would love to have tried - went at 3: 30pm on a Sunday, but even with advertised opening time of 3pm (online and on the window) it was well and truly closed, with no notice anywhere to indicate it was closed for the day or when it was going to open. Oh well, had a great bevvie at Hanging Garden instead.

We recently held our customer end of year event. The venue and the team were great and really attentive. I worked remotely with the venue and they were able to deliver to all our event requirements. Our customers really enjoyed the Gin experience, dessert station and food was plenty. Great job done. Great place to hold a corporate function with engagement activities. Keep up the good work

Great vibes smart surroundings and a good wine list featuring many organic and low fi wines including Simla wines produced by the owners made in a natural fashion and by the glass!

This place was great, very friendly staff and delicious cocktails. Only thing it lacked was a bit of atmosphere - perhaps it was just a bit of a quiet Saturday night. Loved the theme, it's something you can't experience anywhere else.

That is not Aesop in the bathrooms that is an inferior hand wash product in an Aesop dispenser. Other than that ok

Fun little bar inspired by all things of a colder climate, all drinks are sourced from these areas. Friendly staff, good atmosphere.

Wine selection by the glass very small especially Tasmanian wines. No differentiation between glasses for various whites and reds, no stemmed wine glasses available. And this is a wine bar? Had to ask very inexperienced waitress to actually top up our glasses to 150mm! Food selection small and very expensive for what you got. And you get charged a percentage for credit card use! Ambience is great but overall experience dismall.

We had an excellent time meeting up with two others here on our final night in Tassie, great choice of selection as well as services.

Always a good place to visit whether it be their cocktail specials or choice dish of the day. Superb wine and spirits choice in a relaxed and friendly setting.

Such a cool venue. Great atmosphere, laid back service, great cocktails. Negroni and Old Fashioned were great. Very boutique selection of products from Tasmania and abroad.
If you have the time the tasting/flight experiences offered are fantastic! A great spot for a casual pre/post dinner drink or an afternoon filler. Love it!

My partner and I were very impressed with this wine bar and restaurant. The Domaine Simha wines were fantastic, and the food was exceptional. We are both vegan so the lovely chef customised a number of dishes just for us. We also received excellent information about our wines. Highly recommended and we will definitely return.

Really enjoyed this charming boutique bar and kitchen during a recent trip to Hobart with my daughter. The ‘Sud Polaire’ gin and Pinot Noir floats were a fun experience and the oysters were divine. The couple who own the business work in the bar and kitchen and I think this contributes to a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Great gin and wine but big shout out to the exceptional service. A cellar door for local gin and wine so lots of enthusiasm - the staff are really friendly and seem to really care about their work. Takes the experience to another level.

Institute Polaire is a gorgeous sleek little bar located just behind the Hobart wharves. There’s a good selection of cocktails which you can watch being prepared at the bar, one of ours had torched rosemary, the smell subtly filled the bar, before our drinks were served to our table. Tassie spirits and wines are on offer. The staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable of the wines/spirits on their menu. Great spot for a before or after dinner drink.

Small but cosy with an extensive wine list. Loved all the Tassie pinots on the menu and especially loved the pinot flight of 3 wines by Domaine Simha.

Marvellous, upmarket, but very friendly and comfortable wine bar. Decor is to die for, cocktails varied and superb. Plates are fresh, natural and inspired food choices. Well worth regular visits!

Smart, friendly bar. Well presented gin and tonics. Rather expensive for what you get. Not a huge bar, so you may not get a seat.

Incredible boutique cocktail bar, every girls dreams. Fabulous to meet the amazing Lou who is the distiller.

Great range of wine, spirits and cocktails. Professional and friendly staff and fantastic food. Everything you need. Highly recommended.
