Best van park we’ve stayed in!
Great facilities, lots of green grass. Great to see the devils being fed. Really picturesque site by the river!

What an absolutely lovely, clean and enjoyable place, both to visit and even live. Best maintained park we've been to and the management we're brilliant!

This place was great, new amenities and I saw a platypus in the creek! We also watched the devil feedings and met the friendly cows.
The amenity shed and camp kitchen is not enclosed so it wasn’t warm, but has a lot of space and charm. The outdoor tables were large and made me wish we had come prepped to bbq by the creek! And I had a great hot shower here, $1 for 4 mins. Its worth the $$

We are on a 4 week Tassie road trip, camping in tents as we go. We stayed on a premium powered site for 7 nights, paid initially for 5 and then extended for another 2 on a powered site by the river. Thought it a bit expensive compared to other parks, but based on the size of the sites and the new amenities, thought it ok. We also thought it was a great location to base out of to explore southern Tasmania. We enjoyed 6 days and 23 hours of the stay, the last hour however.

On the morning of our departure it was raining, we did our best to pack by 10 (trying to keep gear dry for use over the next 2 weeks). The owner was on our back to get off site ASAP as - he claimed - there were new vans waiting for the site. We cleared it by 11-15, he wanted an extra $20 for the late check out, despite not giving us the discount for staying for a week as advertised on his website! We packed up, drove out to the check in area to clear the site, and then I attempted to walk back in to get changed (I was wet from packing in the rain). He approached me asking why I was going back inside, I gave him the $20 for the late checkout, he told me I could drive back in, I responded that I didn't want to stay another minute. My wife told him to go buy a coffee with the extra $20 and calm down, he blew her a kiss. And there were no parked vans waiting for our spot.

Extremely rude owner, no flexibility, not honouring the discount for extended stays as advertised on the website. Don't go there

I went here a couple of years ago to stay with my family and it was amazing nothing could be bad to say about it. But I have an idea of in the Huon valley caravan park I think they should build cabins for other campers.this will be great for next time we plan to come down and I would love to stay here again in cabins.

Very busy but still a great place to stay. Must see is the Tassie Devils feeding time. Great staff and some nice walks along river.

Beautiful, maintained park, with a fantastic sunset. The owners have done a great job & lots of facilities. $50 CASH deposit (only) for having a dog, which is fine so remember to bring cash with you for that. Only gripe with this place is the $1 for a warm shower (4 mins only) when you’ve already paid an expensive $45 for an unpowered site - the most expensive so far across the whole of Tasmanian campsites. No one carries cash or coins anymore, so we both had a freezing cold shower. A better idea would be to give everyone a token that can be used for a shower and then when it times out at 4 mins for warm water, then make people pay $1 per 4 mins additional. Change that & it will be a winning experience!

The caravan park and facilities are fantastic but the guy running the park needs to take a chill pill too many rules

Not really set up well for people camping in tents. You have to pay $1 for hot water for the showers and we had trouble with the hot not working at times. No recycling limited rubbish bins available for campers. Camp kitchen facilities starting to become a little tired and some equipment wasn't working properly. I thought it was expensive for what you actually got.

We had a powered site, with a concrete pad, near the river, beautiful! Heaps of space in this very well maintained park. Devil feeding at 16: 00 was a bonus. Great location! Great modern amenities all very clean. We usually free camp, but this place will have us back for another 4-5 day stay soon.

What a great place to park up for a few days and explore The Huon Valley and surrounds! The perfect position right along side Mountain River. I was really impressed with the cleanliness of the amenities. Oh and the laundry, what a surprise it was - I was so happy to find clean, sparkling machines - I had no doubts at all in using the machines provided. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. Our plans were to stay for 4 nights but ended up staying for 6. The owners were lovely - very welcoming and kind. The feeding of the Tassie Devils at 4pm everyday is a treat for young and old. We had plenty of telephone service. We can easily say that this park was one of the best we have stayed at during our stay in Tassie.

The park is beautifully maintained and in a great location. However, unpowered grass site was $41.

I returned to the park in the evening and went to use the showers at 9pm. Hot water is coin operated only?

This was not mentioned when I checked in (later found it on back of provided map).
I had no coins and no coin machine is available.
As a North Queenslander I was very unhappy to have to take an ice cold shower.

I've been travelling around Aus the last 7 months and this is the first time I've ever encountered extra charge for a shower, even in remote WA and NT where only bore water is available.

In my opinion, charging $41 to park a 4x4 on a grass square for <12 hours and not even including 5 minutes of hot water is pretty rude.

A beautiful spot. But money would be better spent supporting TPWS and staying in one of the national parks.

Best caravan park I have ever stayed in great location so much to see and do, so kid free and pet free owners of the park are just great we will return.

This is a very well maintained and welcoming caravan park. You can't book but we arrived on a very busy day (27 December) and were welcomed with a lovely, grassy, riverside camping spot for our campervan. Only about 2km out of Huonville but very peaceful and great for families, with an activity each afternoon (sheep shearing demonstration, tassie devil feeding). Bathrooms clean and well maintained and a big well equipped camp kitchen. Highly recommend.

Apart from Rowan who thought my wife was my daughter, should have gone to specsavers, an amazing place to stay. Amenities well above your, or anyone's expectations and an amazing place. The pub in town is brilliant. Stay there again? Absolutely

Beautifully kept park and amenities. Rain water shower heads were useless for washing hair, but everything else was perfect.

Way over priced. Showers are not included and in the camp fees. The showers cost 4 x $1 which will end up costing a lot for a family or couple. Not worth it in my opinion.
