Hellyers Road Distillery reviews
50Great atmosphere, love the gift shop, staff are lovely and was our 2nd visit on holidays. Had to get some more goodies. Had lunch and the pumpkin soup was delicious. The cappuccino was exceptional and the extra whisky shot was delicious plus the fudge piece on the side. Will highly recommend to friends and family for a visit. Will be back.
Do the tour, you won't regret it even if you are not a scotch drinker. Beautiful setting with classic views from the restaurant. Staff are friendly and welcoming.
Great experience. Good whiskeys at reasonable prices (did a flight and purchased a bottle) and excellent service. Have visited 3 distilleries during our Tassie visit and this one was the best.
Great little place, unable to book lunch but were allowed to do extra tastings at shop (only 2 whiskey varieties tasted on the tour)
Awesome whisky, I had the "Hellyers Top Flight" tasting selection, 4 whiskies, hard to choose a favourite they came with a lovely cheese platter and less than $40. + a nip of Southern Lights Vodka - VERY SMOOTH AND CLEAN- great staff, wonderful place, a must visit
Went for lunch and to taste a few whiskies. Great food albeit served slowly. Lots of other people had the same brilliant idea we did! The staff did their best just lots of customers. The whiskies are great as well by the way. Highly recommend a visit. I'll be back and this time look to take the tour.
Probably the best food in Burnie. Highly rate the beef pot pie, but good mix of options. Wonderful views. You’ll need to book though, especially in covid times. Ask for a spot near the side windows, with the best views. Service is friendly and local. Great gift shop, you’d have to be a complete moron to not see it. Decent coffee.
Tour was awesome. Would have loved to eat there but was booked out even though tables were empty. $20 tour with a whisky nip
The tour (which last about no more than a hour) was great, got to taste test 3 of there own whiskeys and pored my own bottle and sealed and waxed the top which came with a certified certificate good gift shop and try there cafe which is in the distillery
Try the full nip peated fit, was very Smoky but without the burning sensation.
Enjoy the tasting plates!
Nice tiny whisky distillery. For 18 AUS$ you get a sip of their whisky, a glance of the warehouse and the production (everything in a single room: mashing, fermentation and distillation). And you can bottle your own whisky.
There is also a Café and tasting room (extra charge).
Really delicious Lunch Menu - Rainbow Trout with Vegetables. Felt really healthy and light. I didn't try the Whisky but would love to come back and have a tasting. Shop looked interesting too! Reccomend a visit.
Great place to visit on the West Coast trail of Tassie. The Pinot Noir Finish Whiskey and the triple distilled Whiskey is great. The restaurant has an amazing array of dishes to cater for all. Most of the dishes have a dash of their whiskey in one form or other. The Chicken Quiche, Portugese Lamb Rack, Halloumi Salad and the Pot Pie with braised beef is not to be missed.
Good whisky tasting. Tasting area was not good enough, unless you like to drink whisky neat. Restaurant menu is quite good price for what it is. We ordered dessert and just 2 whisky tasting.
1 shot/30ml =1 whisky tasting
My hubby ordered the dessert but missed out to add on whisky cream $3, I wish the Team members do a little bit up sell sometime during the order and payment. Then, overall will be wonderful.
Great food, reasonably priced with a great view and some not too bad whiskey too. One of the highlights of our trip.
Really good food and of course whiskey. The tour is worth it to hear of the local produce involved and how things work, and to see the casks!
Well went on a whiskey tour with Sam awesome knowledge and so friendly even managed to organize some cheesy toast that I was craving all day
Ultimate day out and finished with an awesome memory of Tasmania
Stylish elegance & unique. Wasn't there long enough to taste or do your.two bus loads just turned up, so will be back to buy, sample & enjoy the stunning surroundings
Very much enjoyed my experience @ Hellyer's! Whiskey's have as expected improved & I can highly recommend the 15yrs old peated - top notch.
Great place with some great whiskey, even though I don't drink it, my wife does. Good place for a light snack and very pleasant service
