Hawley House

We came for a night but stayed for a week. Such beautiful grounds, incredible rooms and absolutely delicious food. During the day you can spend time soaking up the atmosphere in the house or take a lovely easy walk down Hawley Beach to the Point. But if you stay, make sure you have at least one meal (we had six). Host Sophie and co-hosts Rouge, Zorro and Goofy were delightful.

Lovely experience, very peaceful, beach across road and dog friendly, my fluffy was made very welcome. Great food. Would highly recommend.

My partner and I decided last minute to stay somewhere for the night, Hawley house was 1 option that come up. I had heard good reviews, so thought why not. Oh my, I'm so glad that we did. Yes we arrived late, but they accommodated for that. The room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. In the morning we went and had breakfast. The dining room was very cute and the food very yummy. We will definitely be back and will stay for the weekend and not just a nice. Staff and the dogs were lovely. Thank you

This is a Tasmanian gem that offers a unique experience in an historic mansion and country environment. Hawley House offered us a relaxed and entertaining pet friendly holiday, magnificent dining, quality accommodation and friendly family atmosphere. Nothing was too much trouble for Sophie and her team to help us enjoy our stay. We will be back.

I treated myself to this lovely old home. The service here is first class and the rooms excellent. Drinks at 6.30 dinner and dinner at 7pm. I enjoyed the garden walk and a DVD was a good choice.

Hawley House, situated at the stunning Hawley Beach is well presented and has a really nice atmosphere about it. The rooms I saw were spacious and tidy.
Hawley House is just a short walk to the beach, literally across the road and only minutes from the shops for food and groceries.
I look forward to going back again.

We had a great stay at Hawley House. Since we were on our honeymoon we upgraded and received a beautiful charcuterie board upon arrival, really enjoyed the delicious multiple course dinner & drinks, and went for a bath on the roof during our stay (unique experience, great views). The room was clean & comfortable, and breakfast brought to our room was great too. The grounds/gardens are a bit overgrown but still very fun to explore & full of wildlife. Overall a very memorable and enjoyable stay.

We stayed in the original heritage listed home. We loved the experience of getting to know the beauty, quirks and foibles of 100+ year old timber and stone. The staff are fabulous at keeping the property running, and pleasing guests with accommodation and marvellous food. The breakfast offering is fresh, healthy and tasty. Dinner is amazing. The small menu caters for everyone and is based on fresh local produce. We felt welcome and looked after. Our room was clean and well appointed, it had power outlets near the bed. There is a bakery, supermarket and chemist in the village. Lots of close by coast
and bush walks. We highly recommend Hawley House for those looking for a change from cooking cutter motels. We will be back.

Hawley House, to most, is a secret place. It's hidden up a driveway, through a private wood. I arrived close to sunset and the golden glow of late afternoon, showed tantalising glimpses of sculptures and structures linked to the past but living in the present. Hawley House is a beautiful reflection of a vice-regal home, displaying it's English and Asian heritage. The guest rooms are carefully styled to match Hawley House itself and modern amenities, like televisions and DVD players, are hidden - but easily accessible, within period furniture. Guests are invited to drinks before dinner, but you don't need black-tie to attend. The atmosphere is warm and gracious, an excellent introduction to dinner to come. Sophie, with her siblings, act as caretakers and managers of Hawley House but Sophie is the genius who produces not only the haute cuisine for dinner but also her fresh-baked bread in time for breakfast. While the presentation is traditional, the warm welcoming heart of this experience will welcome you today! I could not recommend Hawley House more highly, try it for yourself!

Lovely, lovely place. Views to die for, quality down to earth service, great location. Easy going, relaxing & authentic. We were just passing through so missed the food but looking forward to a couple of days getaway in the near future.

Wonderful place to stay. Food is top notch, accommodation is lovely and bettrr still its dog friendly! Perfect.

This is fabulous - far more than accommodation and dining (which is superb), Hawley House is a joyous experience, taking you back to a place elusive, serene and restful, tranquil and rejuvenating. And be sure to take the bush track alongside the shoreline out north for a morning invigorator - watch out for the potoroos!

What a wonderful stay we had at Hawley House. Such a comfortable and welcoming place! Sophie is a gracious and knowledgeable host and made us feel very much at home. The meals were hearty, delectable and presented beautifully.
And we just lived the gorgeous doggys!

Had a fabulous one night stay at Hawley House. The grounds are stunning and the upstairs room we had provided wonderful views. We were also treated a a three course meal which was absolutely delicious (possibly the best veg pie I’ve ever had) and VERY generous. Portions were huge but I just wanted to keep eating! I was a little worried about the dogs/noise after reading some of the other reviews but the owner’s animals were very sweet and well-behaved. Sophie took great care of us!
