Gastown East

The only place I'm aware of in Hobart that does pumpkin chai lattes, which taste amazing. They do awesome Canadian food. My personal fave is the Poutine, but there's lots of great food options there. The staff are really friendly and helpful and they food is reasonably priced as well.

Food was delish. We had the dinner chefs menu with drinks pairing. All the food was yummy. Staff were all amazing. Definitely recommend. Local gem worth trying and returning I'm sure.

Attention to detail on point. From the heated tables and blankets to the prompt friendly service it feels like a lot of thought has gone into making this a pleasant location for a relaxed brunch.
With the sun shining and slight chill in the breeze to justify using the heaters and the blankets we sat down with an unfortunately limited time to have breakfast on the way to a soccer event in the area. The service was fast and efficient but in no way rushed. We enjoyed a hot drink and before my 12 year old had a chance to finish his out food arrived.
Our meals were balanced and considered, the pancakes could easily have been too much but the banana and salted caramel actually served to reduce the sweetness and increase the depth of flavour.
My wife had her usual Eggs Benedict, and it was immediately apparent that the bulk of attention had been paid to getting the eggs perfect and that attention paid off. To really buck the current cafe trend they were served on a soft but well toasted muffin rather than a slab of sour dough that would need power tools to get through.
We were thoroughly impressed and will be returning next time we get a chance.

2nd visit extremely consistent. Food as good, coffee as good, service great including a candle on the Donut for the birthday boy.

Chips old and overcooked, everything is deep fried seemingly with old oil or over cooked. Incredibly overpriced.

Very attentive staff, tasty coffee, and picturesque location. The menu looks fantastic (Canadian food style). I will definitely be back.
I came back for the Pancakes + bacon, and they were divine, looked beautiful, tasted phenomenal, just the right amount of everything on the plate, and I will be back again.

The egg and bacon rolls are delish. The fluffy eggs and crispy bacon cooked just right, added with a hash brown. Outdoor heated seating so perfect for a sunday brunch with the doggos

Gastown East is one of my top two all time favourite brunch spots around Hobart. I have been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal.
Food is absolutely delicious, service is always great and quick and the view is amazing.

My absolute go to for breakfast when ever I'm on the Eastern Shore. Absolutely, love it. Staff are super friendly and efficient. Can't wait to go back next time I'm over that way.

Amazing place, delicious food and an outstanding waterfront view. Perfect for a full on breakfast, lunch or a charming dinner.

Lovely spot for brunch especially if you can get a table on the balcony overlooking the marina. Worth booking though!

I had the caesar cocktail and the egg + bacon english muffin.it was really good. Can't wait to try the dinner menu.

My Wife and I had a cocktail party and dinner at Gastown last Saturday and to say we were blown away would be an understatement. The service was incredible. The waitstaff were efficient, polite and never left us wanting for anything. The food was amazing, it was served in a timely manner and considering there were 20 + of us, we all had a meals served at the same time. Would definitely recommend!

Service was shocking.
Upon arrival it was great.
Ordered and Received mains, drinks and water.
Mentioned we may like more food and then would like desert and more drinks

No one came back, not even to take out empty plates away or offer more food/drinks/desert or to top up water glasses.
When we approached counter to ask for desert and more drinks we were told they were closed, no apology, just “here’s your bill”

All the harbour views, food and staffs are exceptional. We ordered the cheese omelette and crab scramble, both are amazingly cooked and had just the right portions for two of us. The staff was really friendly as well.

Recently went for dinner with my Husband and shared the feasting menu option. The food was exceptional! We didn't know what the expect with a Canadian/Australian fusion but all the items were fantastic. We particularly enjoyed the Fried Bannock with Hommus. The staff were lovely and we loved the space saving table-heaters! Really great service and food.

Fantastic spot to stop for a coffee and meal just outside of Hobart. The restaurant has a great energy, amazing food and beautfiul staff. Highly recommend if you're nearby. It can get busy though so book a table in advance.

The chef is REALLY professional. It is amazing flavor of each dish. Feeling really good on Saturday morning.

Small Cafe, food wonderful, Hot chocolate was amazing made with proper chocolate but they don't have Marshmallows, its very popular and busy, advice would be to book as walking in is risky.
I sat outside with a heater and a blanket around my shoulders and was warm enough, lots have dogs sitting with them outside, service can be slow when busy, overall a great place and atmoshere, prices where great too.

Food is so good, my partner and I had brunch here. I lived in Canada years ago and this place hit me in the memories! Definitely coming back for dinner, as the view is lovely

Lovely atmosphere with beautiful harbour views. Excellent staff and customer service. Had the Montreal Beef Sandwich, it was the best steak sandwich I have ever had! Will definitely be back!
