Frank Restaurant reviews
75Lovely Argentinean restaurant near the piers. We ordered a hanger steak and the grilled chicken. The hanger steak was really good and came with chimmichurri and a spicy sauce while the grilled chicken could probably do with more spices or flavour. Overall, still a good experience and the service was very attentive.
An amazing meal with stellar service - standouts were the empanadas and the salads, but the star has to be the roast chicken with corn. I'll be dreaming about that meal for weeks. Also who knew pistachio went so well with cos. This team know great food. Highly recommend. ️
Set along the Hobart wharf district, quick stroll from Hobart CBD. Great interior décor, lighting, and music. Staff were attentive and polite.
The website gave the impression it was Argentinean cuisine but it honestly didn't seem that authentic. Nonetheless, the food was delicious and tasty. We had the three cheese empanada, spiced grilled chicken, lamb shoulder, and sides of cauliflower & leaves. For dessert it was the chocolate fondant and charred banana (this was a bit underwhelming).
Enjoyable evening of fine dining.
My partner and I were able to be accommodated during the peak Easter trading period, thanks again for that. Food, service and ambience were exceptional. Bartender was super friendly while we were waiting for our seat and the wait staff were attentive, professional and knowledgable. The beef and accompanying sauces are a must. Cheers, Chris
Was ok/adequate. There is a lot of hype around it on many "must eat" lists. Just keep your expectations realistic.
Wasn't fantastic, wasn't terrible. Just sort of ok. The potatoes were fried to the point of almost not being potatoes anymore - if you like crunch this is for you, if you want potatoes maybe skip as there was not much potato to them after the cooking process.
Steaks were good but our hanger steak was lukewarm bordering on cold which was disappointing. Not great value for money but it was edible at least.
Croquettes and sauces were good.
We didn't stick around for dessert as the mains were so underwhelming we decided to just give it a miss.
Service was fast and the team seemed very professional - very little mucking around - they all worked with purpose.
We went to Frank’s to celebrate my partners 50th & the staff and food were a 10/10. My mother has food intolerances and the staff went above & beyond. The atmosphere, the music, the drinks, the staff, the food were all amazing. We will definitely be back.
Disappointing. The steaks were very expensive and for the price you only get the steak, all sides were extra. Moreover I have never had scotch fillet with so much gristle. Nice ambience etc.but did not make up for the poor quality of the meal.
Had a fantastic night with my partner. The food was all on point, my partner loved the oysters and the lamb shoulder melted in you mouth. Our server Val was on it the whole night, really fantastic service. Can't recommend this place enough
Bit of a hit and miss when it comes to the dishes. The steak was very sinewy, entree and service was lacklustre. The only saving grace was the chicken dish which was nicely done.
-service was good
-service was fast
-green salad was seasoned well
-roast chicken dry af
-view from our table was if a public toilet
We came here as our special date night for our anniversary weekend in Hobart. I can see exactly why this restaurant is rated so highly. The food was delicious, the drinks tasty and the service incredibly attentive & friendly. Nicely situated near the docks, it is a perfect place to enjoy great Argentinean cuisine.
This is fine dining at its best! Welcoming staff, comforta ble seating with an excellent view of an interesting precinct, pleasant ambience and attentive wait staff. The menu offers a relatively simple selection of utterly delectable dishes. The wine list is of quality wines but also a simplified selection. The servings were generous and the dishes interesting without being fussy or complex. This was a memorable and enjoyable meal, not cheap but worth the cost. I intend to go again and show my visitors the quality that Hobart can provide!
Food and sauces were good, but our main grill item came out with the snack and smaller plates so it got completely cold by the time we could eat it. They have no sense of how to pace the delivery of the food so you should order items slowly.
Went for sister's birthday in July. Got the chef's menu. It was amazing! Well balanced, and not too much!
Great location by the pier. Very modern, sleek decor with funky lighting.
I was expecting the cuisine to be more authentically Argentine, but it was tasty enough, although we were never asked how we wanted the meat cooked and the portions were on the small side. The banana dessert was disappointing.
Wonderful! The food was delicious, the ambience was great, staff were fabulous, we thoroughly enjoyed our night here!
Absolutely loved our dinner here, such a gorgeous space and great food. We tried the recommended menu items but the standouts were the seafood dumpling broth and the venison, just beautiful. Lovely meatballs and salad too.
Absolutely fabulous food, hang the expense and go for the top degustation menu, you won't regret it
One of the best restaurants in Hobart. If I could give 11 out of 10 I would. We had a large group with some fussy eaters as everyone left complimenting the food and outstanding bubbily service. Thank you for making a special family gathering a night we will never forget. We all will be returning many times ahead.
Dining at Frank was wonderful. Staff were so wonderful and the ambience was great. Loved the set up. Wine list and cocktails are in point and the steak was tasty. Pork belly was good but would probably opt for something else next time. I heard the croquettes were worth a try and they did not disappoint!
