Frank Restaurant reviews
75Great experience all around. Food was excellent, great service. Steak and potatoes were amazing.
Come here to celebrate birthday, but this js a very noisy place, had to yell to talk. Can’t really hear anything so finish the food in 10 minutes.
Steak is juicy, pumpkin is tasty, lamb shoulder is literally flavorless but the lamb meat itself is nice. Very expensive, and didn’t feel like a good meal so we went to have fish and chips after.
They were clearly understaffed. The music was way too loud to carry on a conversation without screaming across the table.
The food was just ok. I wanted to be wowed but it just wasn’t there that night.
Absolutely stellar dinner and service … arrived without reservation on Monday night and the staff were getting smashed …
Waited around 15 minutes and a table was made available and there unfolded one of the best dinners I’ve had.
Don’t go because you want cheap, go because you want an experience.
Food was amazing, staff were lovely, vibe was infectious.
Will be back I’m sure
Oysters and steak were lovely and delicious. Service was great and efficient. What a wonderful dinner
The place is amazing and the food was quite good. We did go fairly late and the place was busy but not packed but still found service a little slow. Would definitely to back though as it was unique food with amazing wines.
We were unorganised and while looking for a place to eat dinner found that basically everywhere was fully booked and turned us away at the door. The staff at Frank were able to find a little corner for us and provided excellent service, giving honest and helpful advice on the menu based on my partners somewhat limiting dietary requirements. We had the spiced grilled chicken with carrots and labne which was a whole grilled chicken to share, and was outstanding. Deliciously moist and packed with flavour without being overly rich or heavy. Along with the fried potatoes which were perfectly crisp we were absolutely delighted with the food. Nice varied drinks menu with cocktails and a good selection of beer and wine. Exceptional service, exceptional food, would come back in a heartbeat. 5 Deans out of a possible 5 Deans.
Had a really fantastic meal with the family. Two top steaks cooked perfectly, pork belly and market fish. The potato side was so delicious and a favourite of the table. The raw tuna starter also a favourite. Really delicious meal, fantastic friendly staff. Was pricey but as expected going in and was well worth the price.
The Place has an amazing view, but the food is totally overpriced. I would give 5 stars if the price would match with the size of the plate.
Good service.
Loved the food, fantastic atmosphere, would definitely recommend Frank's.great night out, staff are awsome.
Absolutely fantastic. The staff are so friendly and the food is delicious. Great atmosphere.
Been here a couple of times. Food is good, but only go as a couple. If you want to to anything as a group avoid it because your whole table has to make the same decision. We told the manager we would have spent more if we could have all ordered the same thing and she basically gave the finger. Yolo I suppose!
Wonderful restaurant! Beautiful setting, friendly service, and the drinks and food was delicious. Every dish was a taste sensation and the meat was done perfectly. A must do in Hobart!
This place is amazing!
We had the hanger steak with a bunch of sides and snacks, and the fire roasted nduja oysters.
This was one of the best places I’ve eaten at anywhere
Went with my parents for our last dinner for our trip to Tasmania. The best dinner we had out of the five restaurants we went to. We went to frogmores winery, frogmores lounge and landscapes- very high end expensive and luxurious restaurants yet this restaurant was the best and for good value for money. Lighting ambience and decor was definitely to my taste. Although a refined menu, the dishes were all unique yet not overdone like the other restaurants. Dessert was amazing, I always go for chocolate fondants and was delighted to find they cooked it fresh instead of microwaving. Our waitress was lovely and a well done cocktail.
Fancy and upscale restaurant indeed, great views and very friendly service. Staff helped us pick the specials from the menu. The food was delicious everything we ordered tasted great. Perfect spot for a business meal or visiting with friends.
Definitely overly priced.one chicken $51! Thats like 5 coles chicken!
food wise is nothing impressive for that price.tiny oysters - can just eat others.the ones from the salamanca market are so much better. Portion is small.
No we will not come again. Given a window seat and not proper tables, not even told
The food was great. Unfortunately the lighting was not. I would prefer to see what I’m eating. The dim lighting caused quite a bit of discomfort and strain on our eyes.
Give it a miss
Should have read the recent reviews. They are all on point. Poor service, expensive and mediocre food.
Steak was under seasoned, chicken was undercooked experience was just underwhelming. The only salvageable elements of the dishes were the veggies.
Disappointing experience at Frank yesterday, firstly the service was average at best from being greeted into the restaurant and for the remainder of the meal. Nobody bothered to explain the menu we just kept being asked how you going with food then. I had to ask about the feed me which was hard work to get an explanation of how it worked we ended up going with it and it was a mistake. For $69 per person the portions and servings were inadequate and also less than what had been advised on ordering. The pork belly was tiny and majority fat if I had paid $40 for that on its own I would not have been happy the hangar steak was cooked well but cold. We worked out we saved $20 ish dollars going feed me but they obviously cut back the portions so wasn’t worth it. The wine was good and served at a nice temperature and a few of the dishes were nice but overall experience I would not recommend.
