Fortescue Bay Camping Ground, Tasman National Park. reviews
51A bit disappointed with this campsite. I've done a lot of NP campsite and this one is by far the least good. Most of the spot are not very flat, not much privacy and you have people driving through the campsite to get to the boat ramp, school buses dropping kids.most of the day. The facilities are not really good either, you have to pay for shower. For 13 dollars a bit disappointed compared with other campsite. People at the office were really nice.
This has to be up there with the best campgrounds in Australia. Amazing beach and Cape Hauy track starts from the campsite!
Beautiful location with excellent facilities that we found were always clean. Really busy at Xmas time, watch you young kids as lots of people speeding down to the boat ramp.
Lovely place and well worth the visit. While we didn't camp it appeared to be a great place to overnight. Fantastic setting.
A lovely little camping site, which is relatively secluded and tranquil. It was our first campsite of the trip and has certainly set the bar high. There are a range of walks to do, we did the Canoe Bay walk and it was not too hard and very scenic. I would certainly recommend this campsite as it’s cheap, there are toilets and it is stunning.
Good camping ground, facilities certainly make it easier for those who don't like it so rough. Great boat ramp, beautiful beaches within 2 mins of camp and so many walks close by ranging across different difficulties.
A good spot for 3 or 4 days.
Why did the tuna blush? Because the see weed.
Also this place is great for camping, beautiful little beach and good access for hiking trails! Popular for launching boats
It’s nice to stay. No need to give only cash they accept card as well. I liked the hot shower, so nice.
National Park campgrounds for exploring Tasman Penisular. Bird and animal life to enjoy plus walking trails on clearly marked tracks with steps.
Absolutely Beautiful spot and well layed out hiking trails.
Be aware that hot shower tokens are only available while the office is staffed 11am-3pm approximate times.
Very friendly native wildlife all around
It was really sad I could nto go because of covid 19: (
So I did not get see all the wonderful things about Fortescue Bay.
So, genuinely beautiful campground, absolutely lovely beach which is perfect for swimming. Downside: the ranger is friendly enough but it absolutely escapes me how you forget to mention all trails are closed for the weekend when 80% of the people come over for the sole purpose of hiking.
Nice out of the way camp ground, in one of the best beaches in Tasmania, and toilets are nice and clean as well
Booked a camping spot on 9th October for today (28th December). Unfortunately on arrival, the booking was no where to be found, despite me having email confirmation, and there were no spots left.
Given the time of year it proved impossible to get anything else in the area. Ended up at Eldee Camp Spot, would highly recommend checking it out!
It's very nice for what it is. Last stretch of road is gravel, but in good weather no probs for campervan. Plenty space. Compost toilet. Depending on where ur spot is, showers might be far away. There are bbq facilities. No bins. Beautiful landscape
Very affordable compared to most places. Right on a beautiful beach. Cape Hauy track starts at the campsite. Huge area for each booking. Compostable toilets at the campervan section but the showers at the camping section were nice. You have to purchase 4 minute lots of hot water but very nice. Would return.
Paid for the view. $13 plus $24 (national park entry) Otherwise pretty lously campsite without hot shower or electricity.
Beautiful place but a lot of people I think I went at a busy time I want to go when it's less crowded recommended.
Great little campground set back from the beach. A variety of sites, big and small, all close to the beach, the modern toilet/shower block and the long, thin carpark behind. Could do with some shelter for when it's rainy - as it often is.
