Fortescue Bay Camping Ground, Tasman National Park. reviews
51Good size allotment, good facilities, beautiful beach, freezing water lol. System works well for late arrivals. Picnic area nearby.
This campsite was definitely worth the drive! You truly are in the heart of the national park, and the views and wildlife were second to none! The toilet and shower facilities were well maintained and we enjoyed exploring the beach in the morning. Great base camp whilst exploring the area!
Hard to get there, but super beautiful beach, forests and with great hikes. Loved it there.
Great campground right on the water with toilets and showers. Make sure you book a site in advance and be aware the road in is a little rough!
Beautiful spot by a small secluded beach. Great access to the Cape Hauy trail as well as some other trails in the area. Great facilities (BBQ, bathrooms, showers for 2 dollars) and an overall pleasant experience for camping in a tent.
Busy place. Book a site ahead of your holiday there were no vacancies when we visited. It's a long dirt road to access the camp grounds
The end of a long walk around the "Three Capes", a very pleasant place to finish, rest and cool off. Beautiful in every way. Very well maintained and good facilities
Stayed in Mill Creek campground, booked with National Parks prior to our holiday. Good size sites set amongst tall bushland by the bay. Ground is sloped and dirt (no gravel or grass). Stone fire rings, water tap, and basic toilet block, There is access to boat ramp, walking trails and the amazing beach at Fortescue Bay.
Amazing and untouched!
Great facilities, helpful staff and generous camp sites. All 1.5 hrs from Hobart
Amazing facilities. Helpful staff. Convenient to beautiful walking tracks.
Everything we could ask for!
A stunning spot by the beach. We finished the self guided 3 capes hike here and spent a night, car based camping. It would be even more stunning/ warm in summer. Watch out for the possums, they miss no opportunity to find your food.
Beautiful campground, well maintained and surrounded by well-fed wildlife. Possums in particular very confident and unrelenting so don’t leave food or rubbish around because they will find it. Showers need tokens, can only get these during the day so be aware if you arrive after office hours!
This is a great spot for a bit of camping. Book a site, heaps of spots, and car parks. A booked sit will get you a hot shower as well which is almost as good as swimming in the ocean
This is and amazing camp-site and so well looked after and even had token operated hot showers it does fill up fast so make sure to book absolutely stunning views
Amy (maybe the park ranger here) was very glad to see us this morning on our departure. Love her positive attitude professionalism and love for her job.
We were really impressed by how clean the toilet here were. No smell and apparently it has something to do with a van and separate vent. The site is extremely clean and well managed. Price is very reasonable and worth giving for the maintenance.
Overall it's a very quiet site. Thankfully no techno music here overnight with the policy in place.
Ps. The place is not for you if you can't sleep through the sound of wave, as the site is next to a gorgeous beach, which we enjoyed very much. Very clean water and quiet.
This is a beautiful spot, but the camp sites are pretty much just dirt and rock. There's no grass anywhere and it can get pretty packed during busy times. Great access to walking tracks, Cape Hauy is a must.better still, Cape Pillar/Hauy circuit.
Amazing place! I totally understand why it's always booked out! Everything about this spot is stunning, the trails are amazing, the bay is gorgeous to look at, and all the campers are super friendly. Definitely visiting here again
Beautiful stunning camp spot at the Mill Creek. Uneven surface due to old mill operation. Shower only on the banksia site. No Telstra reception at the Mill Creek site. Left a 2-star review because got very unlucky with the neighbors and there was no one nearby in charge. Local lads mixed with bunch young Brazilian ladies with camp fire, party time for them no doubt.
The actual camp sites are very muddy and a bit large with sediments running into the creek causing contamination. No flush toilets. But very hot showers were sooo good, especially after a dive. They need to fix the muddiness issues.
Stunning campground with lots of space. Will get full during peak times so make sure to call ahead to book a spot. Nice views along the water and a beach to unwind after a long day. Easy access to the Cape Hauy trailhead.
