We really enjoyed our stay here! The staff were all really friendly, the cabin was really clean and in a great area. I loved the ocean view from the kitchen window. The playground & jumping pillow were awesome for our 2.5y/o. Walking down to the beach was quick & easy. The other guests were all happy & friendly too:)

Great place. Been on the road 6-days & this was by far the best park. We had a Winnebago & had an ensuite site which was fantastic. Warm & clean & ironically the cheapest so far.

We were absolutely pleased with the outstanding service we were given by Julie at reception assisting us in getting an emergency dentist as well as arranging follow on accommodation here in Discovery Risdon Vale. My only comment is that whilst the toilet and shower facilities are very good, a bench inside the shower cubicle would be beneficial.

Great place.
Quiet, but close enough to the main attractions and shopping areas.
Plenty of room for the kids to run around and play.

Enjoyed this well set out park. Very user-friendly. One of the best laid out parks we have been too. Would recommend highly.

One of the more peaceful Discovery Parks we have been to but it has lots of room for the kids to play and a TV room for them to go watch movies. A jumping pillow and playground with the beach close by if you like to take them down to hunt for crabs amongst the rocks or you may like to go watch the Spirit of Tasmania leave or arrive. Lots of playing room for football or soccer. The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff are friendly and welcoming. And the park is only a 10 min drive from the city centre.

Really nice place. Drove from QLD & without a doubt, the nicest place we have stayed. Loved it. Will definitely be back.

This is probably the worst discovery parks for tent campers, and we've stayed in various top parks in WA, QLD, NT, NSW, SA, ACT, VIC.
TAS is a beautiful state however Devonport is like an insane asylum.

Our frozen meals in our lunch bag with our names were stolen, followed by days later, our tent was ransacked, groceries, shirts and cable charger, gone! Photos as evidence.

Does this park have ghosts I don't think so. Humans did it but these thieves are fast and they have eyes everywhere, thieves who took our stuff knew which campers to target and harrass! We felt being watched the whole time we were camping and upset with our stolen items it was an unsafe feeling so we booked a cabin instead. Spent almost $3600!

Had a friendly chat with campers arrived from Abel Tasman and Devonport Holiday Village due to robbery. After hearing about our stolen items from this camp kitchen they cancelled holiday plans in Devonport.

This is the only DP in Tasmania that isn't gated and no cctv, clueless manager and staffs, they just didn't care about safety.

The cleaners were more knowledgeable as they're locals. A cleaner lady told me there are homeless and drug addicts around the area that steals from campers and got away with it every time. The tv room had its tv stolen few times so they locked the tv room by 5pm.

I didn't believe what I heard. How can the authorities not care about what's happening in Devonport? Also on our way to town we saw homeless and drug dealers arguing at Woolies about money, heard them talking about stealing from holiday parks! Unbelievable. Scary.

East Devonport is not a safe place for tent campers or long term stay for work etc, even sharehouses are not safe as one of my mates had his plate numbers stolen.

Another incident was on March 21st, 2021 on our check out day we were harrassed by a female permanent resident guest at ensuite 8 or 9 with the big bus, claiming she had been eyeing on us and planned to talk to us on the day of our departure, she knew we were checking out that day and knew our Spirit of Tas were departing that night which was creepy! That lady was stalking us! After getting our info from the reception (that's what happen when you hire thugs and criminals to run front office in hospitality industry), she claimed herself and husband to be labor hire contractors and were hunting workers and asked if we wanted to work for them (they got our info from the park manager which was a breach of privacy), though we were mostly holidaying and refused their offer and felt like we were being stalked. The lady seemed incoherent as if she was high or on drugs.

We felt disgusted by these creepy experiences. So much dramas. The manager named Julie was faking her welcoming attitude and grumpy after a certain period of time. There was also a clueless and lazy staff named Jordy he failed to check us in the reservations system after we paid in full for ensuite 3 on Feb 26-28 and system had a glitch saying we owe them $35. I rang G'Day parks and they said it was a technical glitch and apologized. STOP HARASSING US!
Discovery Parks Devonport is an insane place to be for campers and young people.

Discovery Parks Devonport should be gated and have cctv installed for tent campers as motorhomes and cabins are safer. But for tents campers, belongings in the car however foods stays in the camp kitchen, anyone could steal our food and get away with it and the cops agreed with us. We didn't have time to lodge a formal police report as we were told it was useless without surveillance (cctv recording). A police officer over the phone told my friend whose plates were stolen they would investigate but without surveillance and witnesses it wouldn't be much of help. Insane.

We felt a huge relief leaving these madness behind and though we were compelled to lodge a police report against these incidents, we were going to be late for our cruise and decided to file a formal complaint to G'Day parks instead.

Have cctvs installed for the safety and comfort of tent campers.

Very friendly & helpful Owners/Staff.
Very clean amenities, camp kitchen & laundry. Movie room & very good playground. Great views of Bass Strait. As must if travelling on the Spirt of Tasmania, 5 minute drive away.

It was lovely and peaceful, great view of Bass Strait and perfect viewing to see the Spirit of Tasmania sail off into the distance! Lovely reception. Very tidy landscaping and cabins. Would stay there again if we returned to Devonport.

This is ok. Bedrooms are very small. Take note you need to turn sideways to get around the bed. Service and staff are fantastic it's just the accommodation is less than expected. We needed accommodation rather than being on holiday.
