The food is delicious with interesting twist. Love their raddish cake and the oolong duck breast! The atmosphere is very cosy with a contemporary touch.

The service is absolutely exceptional! A big shout out to Hayden, the friendly and super accomodating staff who was so attentive to our table and delicately helped us through the menu selection journey.

Anothee bonus is that they actually donate a percentage of their profit to not-for-profit organizations and you can see it on your bill!
Love love love!

Excellent food, drinks & service - staff are personable, super friendly and go out of their way to make sure you're having a great time. All dietary requirements are catered for - celiacs and vegans are well looked after, with loads of options, including multiple desserts. The food is amazing - I recommend booking the chef's table. Caters well for small to large bookings.

The restaurant should close at 11.00 pm. When we arrive there at 9.00 pm, the staff told them they were out of service with bad attitude. But obviously, there are many customers still in the restaurant.

My (now) wife and I originally hired this venue for 14 people for our wedding lunch. Throughout the past few months, rolling lockdowns prevented about half of our party from attending. The continual changes that Dana were willing to faciliate was a massive relief for us and they truly helped to make the day extremely enjoyable.

We opted for a $70pp package (3 courses, 'a little larger and more seafood-focused' and no dessert) and brought our own cake. The food was absolutely gorgeous- extremely fresh, clean, and detailed. All of the staff (before the day and on it) were extremely hospitable and flexible for our arrangements- that said, we had a very chilled approach to our wedding.

I would STRONGLY recommend Dana for dining ranging: a casual brunch and a formal event.

Beautiful space, fabulous, interesting good. We ordered a la carte, two of us. 1 entree, octopus (amazing) two mains and two sides. To much but oh sooo good. Staff were brilliant.

I really enjoyed the dining experience at Dana Eating House! The dishes were an interesting and eclectic mix of flavours and styles with an overall broad Asian theme. Everything in the 'feed me' set was delicious, though I wonder whether it wouldn't be better to include a different meat, rather than having two beef dishes. I particularly enjoyed the sashimi and the octopus. We ordered desserts which were yummy and quite large, leaving us very full-they're easily big enough to share- but we thought they were still the least impressive course; I think the tofu dumplings could be better complemented by a bolder, brighter flavour than blackberry. I was very impressed with their catering for my gluten free request. The waiters were attentive, knowledgeable, competent and friendly. I didn't try any cocktails but the wine list and overall drinks selection is good, with just a minor complaint that it'd be great if there were one GF beer available. The interior and overall atmosphere is also lovely. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to go back!

Amazing food, cocktails and wonderful service from the staff who were friendly and welcoming.
Big shout out the the staff who had to deal with the girl on the table next to us who couldn't bring herself to even acknowledge them whilst she decided the restaurant table was the most appropriate place to put on a full face of make-up. To endure that and still smile is telling of your professionalism.

Fantastic experience. Chefs seafood choice was incredibly delicious, very good value. Best oysters and the deep fried baby snapper was perfectly cooked and flavoured. Service was excellent, thanks Michael. Also awesome cocktail selection!

Food here is quite rich, so we will probably select direct from the menu next time rather than the tasting menu, which was too much for the three of us. Octopus and beef rib were fantastic, and will be back to have again. The cocktails are definitely worth mentioning, particularly the Espresso Martini. Lovely staff too.

Came here for dinner on my birthday eve and everything – every course and also the cocktails and mocktails – everything was delicious. How often does that happen? Not very! Great, vibrant flavours, well-balanced and sadly, meal was just over too soon. Will just have to come back, I guess. Plus the wait staff / FOH are all lovely too:)

This place was an incredibly epic find. The staff were wonderful and welcoming, especially Dan who gave us some great suggestions for our trip. The vibe was classy and fresh, with plenty of green plant babies around. The food, oh my god, the food! So insanely delicious. We opted for the $70 feed me menu and had a wide selection of fresh local sea food with an Asian fusion flair. The fish tapioca green curry.woah. So tasty. This menu is awesome. Better than some of the high end Melbourne ‘talk of the town’ venues. Highly recommend.

The ambience is strong when you enter Dāna eating house. Really nice lighting and a warm greeting from the friendly staff set the mood for the evening that follows. We started off our meal with a cocktail each of which have great asian/fusion elements to them like using holy basil and other spices. These cocktails were super delicious and if I hadn’t had a huge night the night prior sampling many Tasmanian wines I would have had more than a few. The food menu is super varied, you can expect Chinese flavours, thai flavours, Japanese and Korean flavours throughout. We ordered a couple of dishes to share and while the food came out fast and with a smile there were a few things that I feel could be improved on. The Sichuan eye fillet carpaccio I felt was a bit under seasoned and the beef was cut a bit too thick for carpaccio. I wasn’t sure why it was called a Sichuan dish as I couldn’t really taste any Sichuan style elements (or Sichuan peppercorns). I felt if this carpaccio was cut a bit thinner and had a bit of citrus on it it might have been a bit more tasty. The confit octopus was delicious with elements of lemongrass and delicious locally grown tomatoes. A great example of how to present Tasmanian local produce. For a larger plate we ordered the half sized cauliflower with black bean - this was tasty and had nice umami elements from the fermented black beans but I felt like it just needed a couple more adjustments and it could be really amazing. The fried tofu is a good addition but because it was whole tofu puffs the sauce didn’t get a chance to really get inside and flavour the puffs so they turned out to be a bit bland and felt like a bit of a space filler.
Overall it was a great time at Dana eating house - I think with a bit of perfecting the menu will be amazing. The cocktails and staff were second to none!

What a fantastic venue for Hobart to boast about! Dana's exquisite Asian fusion cuisine was such a great experience for us and Michaela and her staff were absolute hospitality legends who knew their products and engaged with us so honestly and openly about the venue and Hobart; Michaela even took the time to write us a personal list of her favourite bars to visit the following night!
Our standout dishes were the green curry Trevalla and salted carpaccio both of which were packed with perfectly balanced flavours and textures that had us giggling about how great it all was.
We chose the $77 set menu which was outstanding value and all the portions were very generous.
The weekly wine was a Danish skin contact white that I can't recall the name of but was perfectly paired and suggested by the staff.
A solid beer list full of local breweries accompanies a creative cocktail list that bounces around well known favourites with a twist (there's a Vietnamese coffee espresso Martini I'm very sad I didn't try!)
Thank you to Michaela and the team at Dana Eating House, we love your little spot and we'll be back ASAP!

What a restaurant!

The decor is an amazing blend of industrial chic and minimalist charm. The feed me selection was the perfect balance between delicate and filling. Each course was so balanced, flavoursome and fresh. This is honestly one of the best places I’ve ever eaten, in my life!

Dan and the other staff were fabulous. Congratulations Dana! You’ve nailed everything in hospitality under one roof!
