Dāna Eating House

This was our first visit and we had the Chef's selection to give us the best crossection of the menu. This did not disappoint we took some of the main home in a doggy bag. The food was interesting fusion of Asian and other countries. We love our wine with food and could match food and wine easily from their reserves. We found the pumpkin puree with the pork belly was a heat that detracted from the pork and the fabulous sauce. We just had a taste of the puree then decided to avoid it. This was a minor point in an otherwise fabulous night of food wine and service.

Best Asian inspired restaurant in Hobart so far, fantastic service and prices are very reasonable! We’ll be going back again!

The only thing that's thrown me is that it's promoted as "modern SE Asian" but not much of the food had a SE Asian feel or those classic flavours.maybe more "Asian Fusion"? My expectations were off I suppose - the food itself was very good

Picked Dana as the one place to go for a dinner out on a recent trip to Hobart after reading so many good reviews & was not disappointed! Such a fantastic place - every dish was delicious (highly recommend the spring rolls & laksa). Wonderful service & will definitely be back. Thank you for a great evening.

Walked in for a Sunday lunch and got a table immediately. Service is super nice and quick. The guy that served us is very knowledgable. Food came out great. The highlight dish is the crispy eggplant & the fish with side chips. Every dish served were awesome and everyone enjoyed everything.

One of our favorite restaurants in Hobart.
They have yummy vegan options that are anything but an afterthought that non-vegans will enjoy. We especially like the Laksa and kohlrabi. If you like spice ask for a side of their chili oil. They have excellent cocktails and a well considered wine list. The staff goes above and beyond; they are super warm, helpful and the sommelier, Louie is a fantastic.

Very enjoyable lunch! Seafood was fresh and delicious. Good portions and well presented. Louie was an attentive server with great recommendations. Will be returning again!

Innovative Asian influenced food, changing all the time, full of flavour, taste and pure enjoyment. I've been at least five times over a few years and every time seems to get even better. Just when I thought it couldn't.

There was 9 of us so we had a room to ourselves which was terrific. The food was delicious and they accommodated one person's dietary requirements very well and they didn't feel like they were missing out. Service great too.

Great ambiance, service and food! Would definitely recommend. The egg plant had very balanced flavors and the house soda was amazing!

Dana eating house is not only a restaurant but a whole experience!
The staff, atmosphere and food is exquisite!
We ordered the "Chef's Feed me" menu, which catered to our dietary requirements and left us in a glorious state of satiety!
The food was tantalisingly delicious, with a buoyancy of flavour that danced in our mouths!
We did pay a little more than expected, however the service, food and the charities that Dana house supports really does make up for the cost.
If you're after a dining experience with exceptional staff, I would highly recommend Dana Eating House.

We tried the $65 feed me last night, the starters were all good however the main course was basically dry KFC with boiled rice! You could not swallow it as it was so dry! Not recommended and will not return.

My husband and I ate here recently and really enjoyed the whole experience. The staff were lovely.we hadn't booked so just walked in but they had space at the bar and we were served really tasty, fresh and exciting food and flavours.thai fusion and a more shared/tapas style of eating which was right up our street!
The drinks menu was great also, with a good variety of local and interstate wines, some cool cocktails and a comprehensive beer selection - which was our beverage of choice. Would really rate this place for great atmosphere and delicious food with a Thai twist.

Upon entry, we were greeted very warmly and with efficient professionalism. I quickly explained that my guest had tinnitus and that we would appreciate a relative 'quieter' setting. We were escorted to our table and immediately the waiter asked if we would like the music volume lowered which we replied in the affirmative and he then returned to our table to make yet another volume adjustment. My guest commented that he had never had this happen before in a restaurant and was most appreciative of the consideration. We thoroughly enjoyed our banquet, with every dish enthusiastically explained by different waiters and beautifully presented. The food was refreshingly tasteful and creative. Waiters were subtly attentive and very personable. Thank you to the whole team at Dana Eating House for a wonderful Tuesday evening out.

I recently had the best birthday dinner with friends. The wait staff were very helpful with our menu choices and offered amazing service throughout the evening. Highlights were the vegan Rendang, oysters, jackfruit dumplings and the chocolate brownie with coffee ice cream. I look forward to returning soon.

Had an amazing dinner at Dana Eating House. Everything was super tasty and lots of variety for gf/df. Staff were friendly and service was great! Will absolutely be going back!

The feed me menu was phenomenal, standouts were the market fish and the lamb ribs, incredible. The staff we also excellent and really allowed for a 5 star experience
