Dan Murphy's New Town reviews
65Definitely worth the wait and the Maypole Hotel being shut down for a lengthy period of time! Dan Murphy's New Town is a typical Dan Murphy's: big range, cheap prices, great opening hours (open until 9 PM at least from Monday-Thursday night) and a good loyalty program. It's nearby New Town Plaza (which has a department store, a supermarket, takeaway options, chemist, mechanics, newsagent, bank and other retail/service options), Pizza Hut (the only buffet Pizza Hut in Tasmania at least) and since it's in the northern part of New Town, it's aery short trip to the convenience of the Moonah Business Precinct. Staff were friendly and I suggest people check the prices at other local stores since Dan Murphy's has a policy of beating competitors prices on a stocked item by a certain percentage (not 100% sure how much, check first before buying). The traffic can get hectic at peak periods so I suggest going there in non-peak times if you can.
Wow! If you drink it it's there. Especially wines and world beers, And if your not sure, they have taste testing of a range of products. Prices are good also.
Can’t believe Hobart never had a Dan Murphys! This store is a sight for sore eyes (or thirst alcoholic throats). They always have free tastings and an awesome premium selection and usable at the best prices.
Wonderful exciting store. Extremely helpful & knowledgeable person named Chris helped me. Cant wait to check it out more when I've got more time.
Sigh. The place is an art museum in and of itself. It's like something out of a children's fantasy! Displays and regimented rows and quaint items all displayed in an almost magical fashion. And nary a person who goes there doesn't love what they purchase! Even if it is alcohol. I would actually call it a wine Emporium. Seriously folks, just go there for the artistic way the merchandise is displayed!
