Carlyle Hotel reviews
56Had a meal here with a couple of seniors - the food was good pub food, seniors menu provided good range and was well priced. Staff were lovely.
Great pub for a great meal. Had the most spectacular Cesear Salad, large and delicious. Senior deals also on the menu which makes for a great place for those watching the dollars in retirement.
I was disappointed in the service and the meals. First of all why bother having table numbers when the staff come out with meals yelling out who ordered the seafood basket? I was seated with one other person on a table for two. We both ordered at the same time. My order came out last. 35 minutes after the persons I was with. It was dry and un edible. I have never been there before and I can say with certainty I’ll never go there again.
I recently hosted a dinner gathering at the Carlyle Hotel, and I have to admit that the food served was rather average. Despite the elegant setting and ambiance, the dishes didn't quite meet our expectations in terms of taste and presentation.
Very disappointed tonight with the service, Tuesday 12 September 6pm - 7pm. It was my son’s 19th birthday, there were only 3 of us - me, partner and my son. I didn’t think I had to book for a Tuesday so we just went and young girl gave us the worse table in the room, right next to the entrance door that was sliding open every 2 minutes with cold drafts coming in. I asked the young girl if she could move us to another table as is my son’s birthday but she said no because they are full. She is a liar. There were other tables available the whole time we were there, unreserved! I used to love coming here and was always given a good table area to eat on but after tonight, you have lost a customer! I’m appalled with that girl’s service knowing she could have easily given us another table available to enjoy my son’s night.
Working in Hobart for the week, comfy clean room, amazing caesar salad, will try a steak tonight. Everything you'd expect for an ALH GROUP venue.
Place was lovely.but had dramas with the food.went to the counter to order my meal.ordered salmon which had salad and chips as the choice I wanted but asked if I could have sweet potato chips instead of normal chips.she said she would check with the kitchen.she came back and told me they would not swap them over. I asked if they had a side of sweet potato chips and she said yes so I ordered it. I paid $30 for the fish and $10 for a huge bowl of sweet potato chips with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce.what is wrong with these kitchens. I thought they were their to supply customer service.its not as if they didn't have what I wanted. I have a condition that doesn't allow me to eat normal potatoes but they are just not interested.maybe the chef is the one from the Roaring Frill that refused me the same thing there. 5 star rating for everything else but Zero stars for the kitchen.

Reasonable rate, good location closed to Moonah, room is good for the price, nice smart tv, comfy bed, a bit noisy when sleeping at night.
Will come back for sure
Good meals and quick service. Not suitable for anyone watching their weight loved the Mega Schnitzel
Meals were absolutely delicious. And great care was taken with gluten free needs. Much appreciated.
Very ordinary people that are supposed to be a customer service provider can make you feel like a great scum bag.tgey are rude, disrespectful, ignorant, arrogant, slow, ill informed, lazy, sour faced, mannerless, inexperienced, untrained, gossiping, immature and many other related problem areas in the morning afternoon and evenings. 1star
Was nice place to eat had excellent area for the kids to play in food was really nice and a good size staff were friendly and accommodating all in all very good place to visit
So if u want a disgusting over priced meal this is the place for you.the mega snitty is not much bigger than a kids meal one. Let alone they can't even make them themselves, they come out of a cardboard box. I was disappointed 5 years ago and was even worse this time.service was average at best.go elsewhere you have been warned ️
We visited the Carlyle Hotel for a lunchtime meal. We were a group of 8 and got a table without a reservation with no trouble.
We tried the new me&u ordering system direct from our table. It was easy to use but I still managed to make a few mistakes but the staff were very happy to amend them for us.
The meals were tasty and well sized. The delivery was a bit staggered and the kids icecream was forgotten when other desserts were delivered but we got them after a reminder.
Overall, it was a lovely lunch. Great atmosphere and setting for a lunchtime catchup. Tidy and well presented and well priced meals.
Will go again.
Given that the two things you look for in a budget hotel is a comfy bed and a killer shower, this place ticks both Perfect for short stays, incredibly clean, affordable, and only 10 mins drive to the CBD, definitely consider this place for your next Hobart short stay
The Host & Staff are amazingly friendly & obliging. The room was very basic, very clean, but the window needs curtains/blinds that will block out the nighttime security lights & signs. Everything else was A-OK
I live not far from the Carlyle. But I am not sure if it actually exists yeah I have walked past it and even stopped by for a beer many times. But I still need more evidence I don't think it's really there honesty
Very clean and friendly place great food everything u need in a pub i have never stayed there but I emangine the rooms would be the same as drinking area
Extremely rude customer service from bistro staff when I try to talk to staff about the food delay she rolled her eyes and spoke to us in a very inappropriate way she is a blonde hair girl with a ponytail and me and my wife kept it quite after that. We were extremely disappointed. We can hear she’s going and talking to other staff about us point at our direction. We felt extremely uncomfortable and didn’t enjoy our meals and all.
We had a booking for 5pm. We arrived promptly and we waited for the staff to open the door. We asked the bar staff three times to open the door, to no avail. After 15 mins we left and went elsewhere. Very disappointing.
