Our guide Alex was great. He really loves the beer and the brewery and it really shows. Thanks for a great tour. Awesome pub and so much Tasmanian history. Loved the stories of the wizard with his horses!

What a great experience. Tour guide whose name was (Nike) not his full name.hard to pronounce real name was excellent and very patient with all the background noise of a working brewery. Tasters were excellent at the end. Priscilla in the bar downstairs was friendly.good for a chat and a laugh.

Very interesting and informative tour of the James Boag brewery. The tour ended with a beer tasting of 4 of their beers (beers that they don't sell in other States), which I enjoyed greatly (being a Queenslander), I ordered a tasting paddle afterwards, to enjoy them all again! There's also a museum upstairs.

This was a well worth doing experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and had very good people shills. We learned not only about the brewery and process but a little bit of Launceston history also. There is a time limit but at no stage were we rushed. Thankyou Phil and the team.

Tour involved being shown how the beer is made from fermentation to bottling, as a lover of JB i found it amazing. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, tour was not as professional and has a casual feel to it (good or bad depending on the person).
I give 3 instead of 5 stars because even though the website says there is food it was not offered and we do not get to taste JB. The tasting is only for boags local Tassie beers, which JB is not a part of.
Tour guide was lovely though, really easy going guy.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the tour I felt the cost of a six pack which I did buy outrages at $20. Which would make it dearer than any you could buy at the local shops.

We had a great time looking at the facilities, learning the history and operations. The tasting at the end made a excellent finnish to the experience.

Great brewery, James Boag, established 1881. Plenty of space, offering both inside and outside seating with tables. Beautiful old building. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Great food and deals. Tourers take approximately 1.5 hours for small fee. You can buy memorabilia, like glasses, jackets, and smaller items as well. A must for a cold Borgs beer on tap. Parking at rear of pub. Easy access. Don’t miss it.

What a fantastic time we had at the James boags brewery! The other people that were meant to turn up in our group, did not show. So we got a personal tour, plus we got to eat their cheese at the end haha. The beers at the end were delicious and it was super interesting to learn about the process and then taste the end product.
My new favourite beer is the wizard smith ale and this tour gave me a new found love for cheddar cheese which paired so perfectly with that dark ale. Yum!

I'm from Adelaide South Aus. I've wanted to visit the brewery for a very long time, 5 stars from us the museum was very well thought out and put together giving me all and any info I needed on the Boags family and how the brewery started. The beer was great too

Delicious beer & moderate prices. Very helpful staff, we’re currently following their recommended tour of places in Launceston to grab some food and a few pints in the evening and they’ve sent us on a great walk. Couldn’t recommend more, thanks guys.

Didn't make it onto the tour but did manage to drop in to do a tasting paddle in the brewery bar.
Great value for generous servings and tasty beer.
