Blue Eye Seafood Restaurant reviews
74Great place for fresh seafood. Baby abalone and fish & chips were superb, not forgeting the mussels as well as The Lot - seafood platter with chips. Excellent and friendly service from staff
The staff were fantastic especially the gentleman who looked after us the meal was most enjoyable we will certainly be back
As a non fish eater, I can say with 100% honesty, the food at Blue Eye is the best seafood I have ever tasted. I ate their variety of prawn dishes like no tomorrow, their Seafood pie was devoured and my kids had 3 serves each of their crumbed prawns and prawn dumplings. The management was also flexible on menu to assist with kids. Brilliant! Highlight of our trip to Tassie.
My friends come Hobart from Melbourne and would like to taste the famous seafood of Hobart. Look at the menu and find almost every dish is more than $30,so we think it should be fine. But when all dishes are on the table,we are extremely disappointed! Dishes are very small, and even the cheaper one called “The Lot”,just like the picture below,is it “fish and chips”? This one cost $32.5! Are you kidding me? The others are even more terrible! Do you think the customers are fools? This my first time to come here, and it’s also the last time!
Not very friendly staff. They are kind of Racist. It’s the shame on Beautiful Hobart has this restaurant. But luckily we found another good restaurant nearby. Shame on you. Blue Eye Seafood restaurant.
Compared to other restaurants, the price is relatively affordable, especially in happy-hour which means 3 to 5 in the afternoon between Tuesday to Saturday,or lunch special。Good atmosphere and friendly service。Scallops are quite delicious。
Ristorante straordinario, abbiamo preso sashimi di salmone, ostriche ed un vino bianco frizzante tipico delle colline della Tasmania. Dolci ottimi e tante alternative gluten free. Consigliatissimo!
Hm! Miam! Good food ; blue ocean, blue eye seafood on the diner table! So what dreaming more! Viva blue life:) :). We loved all from here 5/5
Great place, great food, but a little pricey for the portion. I guess it's quality > quantity. The mixed grill was excellent but set me back $40.
Always fresh fish and seafood. Friendly and efficient service. Locals know to book rather than just rock up. Also good value!
The food is fresh and delicious. The place is cosy. But the price is little bit high.other than that, very good!
Beautiful fresh seafood in the heart of Salamanca. Overlooking Princes wharf, Blue Eye serves the freshest fish and seafood in Hobart hands down. Check the blackboard to see how many food miles the fish have under their belt.
I ordered the traditional battered fish and chips. It was a generous serving consisting of two large fillets of flathead with chips and mushy peas. The fish tasted very fresh and the chips were bang on. My dining partner had one of the daily specials, scallop pie. It was beautifully presented with a ring of grilled Tasmanian scallops surrounding the pie and a quenelle of mushy peas sitting on top.
Service was prompt and friendly.
I would highly recommend trying Blue Eye.
We dined here with friends from Queensland on Saturday night who we ran into in Hobart prior to dining. When we arrived, we asked if we could alter our booking for 2 to 4 and we were accommodated happily despite the restaurant being almost full.
Our waiter Jed handled our special requests with aplomb, he was also very entertaining.
Our entire experience was brilliant. We would absolutely recommend this venue.
PS we made a suprise visit on Monday evening after a disappointing dinner at another local restaurant and Jed was again a gem in dealing with my partner's requests. All in all, we recommend this venue to anyone.
Another big plus is that for some reason Hobart restaurants want to fry the local seafood, whereas Blue Eye, do give you the option of the seafood shining through without being covered in crumbs/batter and oil.
