Banjo's Bakery Cafe reviews
67A good basic bakery. Everything made for consistency across stores so unlikely anything in particular will stand out. Good enough for a sammich or emergency croissant.
The staff are nice but the cashier is so rude. As the first time visitor in Hobart, i didn't feel welcome. She was impatient, impolite and even racist as she mocked my accent and made to repeat my order 4 times. Very disappointed!
Been to this store many times, because i appreciate the good service, food, and its a comfortable place to sit and eat.
I rate 5 stars for its unbiased service. You can beat many other shops here on this point. We are always treated differently from the local and western customers in other stores. Actually, we pay the same money for the same thing and I don’t know why. Usually, I go to Asian shops since receiving the same service is very important to me. At least I find one local retail shop which is good on this aspect. Please keep it up.
Good service and Covid practices. Food good, bought a coffee and scored a free Danish, current promo.
It's a chain but OK. A fair variety & the coffee is good. Newspapers are provided free so great to sit & enjoy your drink while reading the paper.
This particular Banjo's Bakery Cafe offered exceptional service. The coffee was ready almost before I paid, highly recommend if you want grab a quite bite and delicious coffee. Don't forget to get your free tiny cookie:)
Large ranged of baked goods and we were served by a friendly staff member. I chose the cauliflower and cheese pie, which was delicious. Lots of vegetarian options too, at a convenient location.
There's seating inside too.
Great coffee and sausage rolls are perfection. Don’t bother with the small ones and you’ll munch it up in 1 bite! Ordered via Uber eats
The staff in morning are energetic and polite, with good service. I normally come to buy coffee and toastie during that time. However,I just came once at 5PM,a girl who was so rude and no smile on her face. It feels like I should not go at this time.
Great staff awesome food. Love the chocolate muffin. Well worth a visit if your ever in North Hobart. Lovely place!
The CBD store has a habit of serving food that is not fresh. I've had a chocolate muffin that was like a rock, sausage rolls that tasted like they had been left over from the day before and reheated. Pastries are quite often not fresh. My daughter has had a stale pie. I'm giving them two stars because I think they deserve it for the good coffee. Staff are friendly but not enough of them. Manager was put out by the feedback. The tables could do with being wiped over more often this is true for most Banjos stores. Grimy tables. I'm not giving this store any more chances. I would suggest asking for what is fresh before purchasing and giving them feedback if you are served a rock instead of food
The scallop pie and coffee is a real match especially on a cold weather. You can only taste the scallop pie in Banjos Hobart and I hope there will be a franchise store in VIC in the near future. The flavours of the curry and scallops is an absolute pleasure. This is a must.
Down to the color scheme and interior decor, a close replica of Panera in the USA. Is it a rip-off or an extension of the franchise? I think it's actually an improvement. It does seem to be a chain, but the quality is better than most Australian chains.
Howrah shopping centre. The older women presumably managers of front customer section are positively nasty toward me — a frequent customer. First it was criticising my age and my ‘leathery’ face. They try to be ‘friendly’ but become v familiar & rude.
Spacious place, average coffee. Housecake was enjoyable in current warm weather.
Need better queuing system.
I love this chain of bakery cafe in Tasmania. We travelled all over Tassie and we were never far away from a Banjos. They have huge variety of baked food for all tastes. Cannot compare with Bakers Delight or Brumbys in Victoria, Banjos have lots of variety for eat-in and good coffee. Vegitarian options are good.
Ordered beef and mushroom but it was sold out. Changed order to a chicken curry pie. Really nice pie. Nothing to fault. Staff was friendly as well. Place has a nice, relaxed atmosphere about it.
If you want that feeling of your fave pastries always being there Banjos is the bakery/cafe for you. As a chain store you're not going to get any surprises. Dependable.
Southie liked the free biscuits but his review is torn due to limited vege options. James (two pie tentacles) ate two pies, "bloody chuffed" he was. But the lack of vegie options brought the over all rating down to 3 stars
