Alice's Cottages reviews
57Loved all the little things the owners did to make it a great stay. If you want quirky and welcoming this is this the place for you. Historic buildings and themes.
A brilliant place to unwind and relax, great hosts and very welcoming, will always book when in Launceston
This is probably not for you if you are not a big fan of an old place. My boyfriend booked this and I was a bit shocked by how old the place is…
We came to Alice’s Cottages, Scottish and we were really shocked. We saw such beautiful photographs online and when we arrived we saw a couch with a hole in it and parts of wallpaper coming off. The space did not feel clean and we were disappointed. We felt uncomfortable and left. We didn’t hear from Alice’s Cottage even though we left a note. The other cottages here may be different and better, however the Scottish Cottage is not a relaxing and comfortable space.
I loved our stay at Alice's Cottages - old world charm, cosy and romantic. Great breakfast and handy location.
Booked online at 3pm, and was in 30 minutes later with breakfast all organised in the fridge. Beautiful 4-poster bed, huge spa bath, and wood fire.
We love in Launceston anyway, but will definitely return!
Absolutely loved our stay in the cottage from the amazing breakfast basket to the cheese and drinks as a welcome gift it was all perfect. It was so comfortable having seperate living/kitchen bedroom and bathroom but our favourite was the cosy lounge room with open fire place love love loved our stay
Wonderful fun experience. Everything supplied fantastic breakfast basket daily Great position walking distance to everything
I can't speak highly enough about Alice's Cottages! Their attention to detail is second to none, I adore the fun decor and the breakfast box was amazing. Definitely recommend them as the perfect place to stay for something special.
Stay was pleasant, but for all the online communication, we never actually spoke to a real person. Not a big fan of themed accommodation and this one wasted valuable space. It was comfortable, even plush, but the towel to soak up a leak in the bathroom basin was not cool (or changed overnight). Spas are a terrible waste of space, in this case leading to the toilet being in a “cupboard”? The smallest kitchen imaginable would work better with microwave safe bowls and the two coffee plungers were so mangled as to be unusable. And having to opt for rubbish to be removed is a bit “tick box “ mentality. Pay attention to real traveller comforts, not cute appearances.
Four-poster bed, open fireplace, claw-foot bath - seriously, if you can't find this a marvellous place to unwind, reconnect and relax, you're not really trying, are you?
Really enjoy the ambiance and quirkiness of the cottages (I have stayed twice before). So much effort has gone into the details. The complimentary wine, cheese etc and the breakfast are amazing. The best part for me, though, is the open fire.
Had a fantastic time at Alice’s Cottages. There were so many thoughtful touches in the cottage that made our stay really comfortable. The fire was set up ready to light and breakfast was ready in the fridge for the morning. I like the theme and I’m glad some of the historical items have a great home that can be enjoyed by travellers. Will be coming back new time we are in Launceston.
Fantastic cottage, found this jewel of accommodation on our trip around Tasmanian recently. Owners even left a small bottle port to enjoy in front of the open fire, will definitely come back.
Alices Cottages are a great, quirky, stay in Launceston
Very clean & comfortable & highly recommended
We stayed a night in the Boudoir, and am happy to say it was awesome. Very well done, some really nice touches. Loved having a bottle of wine by the fire place. Great communication throughout. Highly recommended and would stay there again if in Launceston
We had the English cottage for four nights in the middle of a 3 week road trip of Tassie and was a wonderful time to relax and take a break. Everything was provided and a few extras thrown in (Thank you) attention to detail in the cottage was outstanding. Location was
easy to find and within reasonable distance to everything.
We would highly recommend staying here for your time in Launceston.
Wonderful, charming and comfortable accommodation.
Terrific open Fireplace for cozy and romantic nights in with a home cooked Curry or Pasta and a good bottle of Tasmanian Red
Thoroughly recommend Alice’s Cottages
This was such an old historic place to stay. Loved the open fire and the breakfast basket was amazing
The Alice cottage is absolutely except our expectations! As soon as we enter the garden we can feel the old England vintage style. Lovely flowers and cute house. The room is just fantastic with all the details and those old but cute decors! I feel like in England as we stayed in the English cottage. The real fire place in the room is really cool. Air conditioning and hot water working well. Highly recommended
