Alice's Cottages reviews
57These old cute cottages are the perfect homely stay. Loved the spa bath in the Welsh Cottage. We have also stayed in the Scottish cottage before. Great breakfast left in the fridge too. We would stay again for sure.
We booked it for one night. But the entire night we couldn’t sleep as there were many cockroaches in the room. It was really unhygienic and it was nightmare staying in Alice cottages! They really need pest control done and should notify their guests when was the last time they got one done!
One of our favourite stops on our trip around Tasmania. We stayed 2 nights. Our cottage (French) was spacious, clean and well stocked. The spa bath was a god send after a day visiting the sites. We didn't use the open fire but it would have been great and the supplies readily available. The breakfast basket was amazing and enough food for us to take some as morning tea. The self check-in was seamless and easy to use. Also having the laundry facilities was very helpful. The ap is great for finding dining options and a wealth of local information (we ate at 2 of the places recommended and enjoyed both). We love this style of accommodation and you have done it very well.
We stayed in the Scottish Cottage in August 2023 and absolutely loved the charm, cosiness, Scottish-themed decorations, open fire and numerous small touches (including a really detailed information compendium) that made it a really enjoyable stay. We look forward to visiting again in the future. Matt & Samantha, Hobart
Stayed for 2 nights in the outlander cottage. The cottage is amazing. Met all our needs. A wood fire is always a bonus. The breakfast is outstanding. Easy communication. Very affordable and walking to a great chinese restaurant. Very happy
Was a lovely place to stay, they thought of all the little details that many places miss. Central to everything you need. Would recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in Launceston
We had a wonderful stay at Alice’s: requests were fulfilled to the very best and we could not stop our praises.
Great old style cottage. Has adequate room for 2 people and is close to Launceston CBD. The cottages provide breakfast each day with a good variety on the menu (you order the breakfast the day before to be delivered) and able to cook in the cottage. The only downside is that the laundry is shared amongst all the other cottages.
Loved the quirky cottages, great decor - very authentic! Lovely extra touches like the port, wine, beers and cheese and crackers. Great instructions and information book.
What a lovely little cottage so authentic
I stayed in the Scottish cottage
Can’t wait to try the other themes Alice has to offer
Thank you
Great little spot to explore Launceston. Quirky themed cottage that was very comfortable and welcoming. Check in/check out process seamless, and nice touches throughout. Couldn't recommend enough!
Stayed based off outstanding reviews. Had the Welsh cottage. Kitchen carpet is stained and needs replacing asap - couldn't see past that and kept the door shut. The touches and attention to historic defailnis really impressive. A lot of time and energy has been put into sourcing the books for the shelves.very impressive. I wouldn't come back or stay another night but I appreciate the theme and effort put into it. Desperately need new carpet and some TLC to keep it fresh.
R u kidding this is the best if I only knew I would've spent at least 4 nights,
This is so cool, book straight through them and get a wonderful hamper and wine or late checkout
I was looking for accommodation for my honeymoon, in particular something with an open fire place or spa bath.
Not only did the boudoir suite offer both these options, it was beautifully themed with French accents.
Accomodation was very romantic and short walk to Main Street of Launceston. We particularly loved the included breakfast and glasses of port to help warm our bodies.
I highly recommend staying here, honestly no downsides to anything with this accommodation. I look forward to staying in some of the other themed rooms on our ne t trip!
Beyond incredible - such good value for money and such thoughtful and interesting touches to the place. Incredible spa bath, wine, breakfast - couldn't be better!
Absolutely lovely place, true to themed cottages, we stayed in the Camelot and were transported back to the period. Thank you for the welcome Port and comprehensive Breakfast Baskets replenished everyday. Ease of Booking and collection / drop-off of keys. Book direct to avoid extra costs. Thank you Tom & Bec and the Alice's Team.
We spent 8 days of our 3 week holiday based at the charming English cottage at Alice’s Cottages. These cottages are themed, have so much character, and are centrally located. We often skipped lunch because the tasty breakfast hamper was so generous. We stayed at expensive resorts at Freycinet and Cradle Mountain but loved this place the most (and it was significantly cheaper). We have no hesitation in recommending Alice’s Cottages.
We loved our stay in the Scottish Cottage - location was great and the setting was picturesque. Our cottage, like all of the others I suspect, was full of character and charm and was very comfortable. The breakfast basket was a generous and welcome inclusion. We would certainly stay here again - highly memorable!
Lovely old cottage in Launceston, nice quick walk into town. Great breakie provided and a glass of port too.
The sign on the door to the Welsh Cottage says “Old and Quirky” it certainly is that with creaking floorboards, sticky doors, period pieces and eclectic furnishings and it is absolutely charming, we loved our stay and so glad we opted for Alice’s Cottages rather than a sterile cookie cutter hotel room. The breakfast basket is huge and replenished each night of your stay it certainly puts a lot of more expensive properties to shame. The welcome guide is perhaps the most comprehensive I’ve ever seen with descriptions of ALL the facilities in the cottage, troubleshooting guides and hints and recommendations for eateries, wineries and attractions. Good job guys.
