Zapata's Mexican Restaurant

Tuesday 12th october 2021 was the day when i experienced an amazing array of kind service, a warm welcoming smile and outstanding customer service. Extra special praise to Kim who made this experience one of a kind. Well done!

Great food and service on Thursday night, half price Margaritas. Seats were a little uncomfortable but who eats the seats!

Margaritas served not once but twice 3/4 glass full and lacking potency of alcohol. Ordered a Burrito main which arrived with the plate smoking hot which made me realise the food isn't freshly made but reheated. It was nice and I guess adequately priced but I won't be coming back. Sadly forgot to take pics of the food and margaritas to add here.

Can’t fault the food at all, and all of the waitresses were lovely. The one older male waiter needs to drop the attitude and learn how to smile. Or retire

I'm failing to understand how this is Mexican food and why American style ribs are on the menu. Just call this Tex-Mex Restaurant because there's nothing Mexican in this place. Putting green onions instead of cilantro on dishes? Really? Crunchy tacos? Do you get your ideas from taco bell? At least watch some basic youtube videos on how to prepare Mexican food.

The vibrant decor and customer service was on point. She provided us with suggestions and offered us insights on the popular dishes.
The food was unique to our taste buds. The mashed foul beans were my favourite and the rice was filled with flavour.

Imagine you described Mexican food to someone, but they were reading something on their phone and only pretending to listen. This is what you'd end up with.

Also while most of the staff were nice, service was very impersonal.

We felt a bit mixed about Zapatas. I found it very tasty and filling, but my partner wasn't as impressed with the portion and taste. Pricing is average for nth adel. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely and the staff are friendly.

The manager was rude to waitresses the whole time we were there. Not just to the waitress but to my husband and I also.

Such a shame that the service was so terrible because the food was quite yummy.

We won't be going back and we will be recommending that our friends and family don't either.

The worst restaurant I have ever seen. The waitress tried to turn the boiler on but she failed. Then she just left without any explanation or apology, and we had not idea about what was going on. We waited for 5 mins and asked another waitress about this and she told me that there is no fuel left in the boiler, and they can change another one if I want to.

This is ridiculous, I paid for both the food and the service, this is not what I want you to do, this is what you should do. Should you change another boiler immediately when you failed to turn it on? Imagine this, can I just leave without paying the fee until you ask me? And then can I tell you that I can pay you if you want to?

We stayed there for another 5 mins, took the food away, and left, since the dish was already getting cold. Really bad service. I will never recommend this restaurant to others.

Booked a table. With a half empty restaurant they sat us in the doorway at the smallest table I’ve ever seen. We had to hear staff talk nasty to each other about how to book people because they were practically on our laps. Food was bland as hell but the drinks were as strong as the mad dogs looks we got from a couple of weirdos staring holes in our heads from the corner. Lamest wanna be Mexican I’ve ever had. The one star is for the fact I could actually taste the booze in the drinks. They need to work on the rest though-don’t recommended unless you’re desperate.

The Special Nachos were very nice. The Chimichanga and Carne La Tampequeña were just okay. The service was very slow and basics like cutlery, glasses, and plates had to be asked for specifically. Not a deal breaker normally, but when you pair that with long waits for service we had to wait quite a while before we could eat for entres and mains.

Great food and family atmosphere with friendly wait staff. Only downside was the older gentleman who took my payment was very rude and disinterested in us or our experience.

If I could give 0 stars I would the service was appalling. Upon arrival we asked If they had room and were told that we needed to leave by 8. Once seated we ordered drinks and thought everything was fine, the dish I ordered was completely inedible so I sent it back and ordered something else. My daughter went to pay the bill and they charged us for the inedible dish. The food had no flavor and was hands down the worst Mexican I've ever had. The only good thing was the young waiter who was good.

Okay place. Excellent frozen margeritas and dessert good decor and location. Overall the service was veryyy slow though and the food was nice but not amazing. Wouldn't rush back.

Been coming here for almost 20 years and never had a bad experience, great food and service, a must if you like Mexican food

Fantastic Food and staff, but check your bill. We were double charged for drinks, and didn't realise until we got home. This would have been 5* if it wasn't for that!

Bit of a regular here. Amazing food and drinks. Always take friends and business acquaintances here. Booking not essential but reccomend. Suitable for children.

Requested my steak medium rare but got it well done. Dish overall needed a bit of flavour/seasoning but overall it was ok.

Love this place! No better Mexican restaurant in Adelaide in my and my cousin's opinion.
We celebrate her birthday here just about every time. Outstanding food, 5 star service the service staff are egaging and clearly care about their workplace.
On top of that, it's great value.
