Zapata's Mexican Restaurant reviews
70 Delicious food, made in traditional Mexican style, great selection of Mexican beers and Agave spirits at very reasonable prices. Some of the best prepared dishes I've had, the kitchen takes time to really put work into the seasoning and spices in each serve. Wait staff was friendly and helpful and the service was fast and thorough. Overall amazing experience.
I ordered the Fish Taco special and its not to be missed, I've had more than a few and this one tops any I've had so far. I also ordered a bloody maria (ask for it spicy) and the sticky peanut chicken skewers.
5 out of 5, would recommend. Much better than Montezuma down the road.
Have been coming here for many years and love the food and staff so much especially Kim Spence she always makes us feel welcome and goes out of her way to make sure we have all we need
Disgusting food like it was microwaved.
Went here the other night before the light show
$147 for 2 kid + 2adult meals
2 corona beers and 1 pina colada.
We needed those drinks to wash down the microwave food.
Service and food are great here. I have been here a few times and have liked the food a lot. A very good choice of items to pick from and meals are big size. You won't go home hungry at all. Always has plenty of room for you to come in and enjoy dinner.
Great food with generous portion size and good margaritas.
Unfortunately the elderly gentleman who served us (I’m sure he was the owner or manager) was quite rude. It’s seems like he has over it and needs to move on or retire.
Very little pleasantries and dumping plates in front of us with no care was unusual.
The venue is an authentic Mexican restaurant and could really be a great experience if the service is better.
I do not know how they can call themselves Mexican. No flavour whatsoever. There was some sort of meat paste? Not sure what was going on.
This was one of the most awful tasting meals we have tried. We had to throw it all away after a bite of each meal.
Please do yourself a favour and give this place a BIG miss.
Arrggg the after taste is so disgusting
Sad. Waited 35 minutes for a takeaway ordered before there was anyone even in the restaurant. When enquired at 30 minute mark said 'busy with uber's'. Rubbish! Only 2 uber orders came out in the time I sat. Then I received a soggy microwave mess. Out of sight, out of mind I guess!
First of all, I'm not a lover of Mexican food so my rating is tainted, but my grandchildren wanted to eat Mexican & they liked it there.
Staff were friendly and service was good.
Value for money?
My fork was dirty when I looked at it, had to swap it. Food was good but was I promised half a serving because it was too big. Gave me the whole meal anyway
The restaurant has a nice ambience and beautifully decorated. The food is on the pricey side and was reasonably tasty.
Took my wife here for a date night last night! Mexicans one of her favourites. Wow. Amazing food. Think it’s just become one of my favourites too. Will be back for sure
The food is great, however the service provided by the manager / owner of this establishment is not friendly at all. We only asked him where were our meals at.as we had a fringe show to go to and we were already waiting for a while.
We just needed to plan how quickly we had to leave to make it to the show on time considering that we had a couple of elderly family membersthat could not move too quickly. Simple question we made, and the response was angry and bully and I would rather never come back.
Poor quality food not good value
Not very fresh
Service slow and not friendly
Not good will not go back
A group of young men visited the restaurant on Friday night and were served the most delightful meals and drinks by the outstanding staff and owners of this establishment everything about the restaurant was first class we rated it 5 stars and would just like to thanks them for providing us visitors from Victoria for this wonderful experience while visiting Adelaide
Zapatas is amazing! Our favourite place to go for a special occasion. Staff are attentive, food is amazing and their lemon squash is the best in Adelaide. We are consistent visitors.
Pretty average in the food department, think your primary schools friend’s mum’s home Mexican cooking. Not as good as your mum makes it.
Decor is kind of cool but a bit tired.
Pricing is pretty expensive, food sizes are generous, especially the nachos but left feeling like we could have made better at home.
Definitely get a Margherita or two, pretty solid here but not much else to write about.
First time I have been here and what I had from the menu is what I wouldn't normally eat. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Good food and service
Great food. Great margaritas. You'll never leave hungry. Good and varied selection of Mexican staples. Close to parking on Melbourne Street. Meals in the $20-$30 range.
My friends have been having celebrations here for years. The food is always amazing, we have never needed to send anything back. Portion sizes are very decent.
The fantastic thing for groups is the way they do split bills, never had an easier experience with making sure the bill is all paid.
Ambience was fantastic, beautiful food and the waitresses who took our order and served us were fantastic.
My only gripe was with the older lady who whilst clearing our table was very blunt and rude when we were trying to thank her for a lovely meal.
I undertand people have off days but it soured the whole experience.
