Whilst the service was pleasant the food was underwhelming. We ordered four meals and all were not upto standard. Didn’t at all live up to our expectations of 4.6 star restaurant. The food tasted like undercooked boiled vegetables. The venue was also filthy, the window seal was disgusting with dirt, hair and grease and the chairs cracked and uncomfortable to sit on. Overall very over priced for underwhelming experience.

What could have been a lovely night was spoild by the lack of ambience and the seating of people right outside the window, closer than what anyone would be comfortable with if they want to enjoy a relaxed dinner. Lighting was too bright, staff seemed to concentrate on friends rather than customers that booked weeks in advance. Service adhoc, chicken grisly & chewy, the only nice dish was the wagu roll. Would not recommend nor return.

Omakase $79pp. Looks modest but fills you up. Wonderful fresh flavours, array of textures and lovely presentation. Feeling well cared for. Cosy and warm despite wall to ceiling timber and undressed tables. Very good wheelchair access and parking.

We received a warm welcome from the staff. It was a cold and rainy spring evening and we came with our two pups. They were very accommodating, moved the heater next to us and gave the pups water and lots of pats. The oysters were fresh and tasty and the sauces paired well without overwhelming the original flavours. The 5-course omakase for two was great. We paired it with warm sake and quite enjoyed it. Crispy but not greasy tempera. Fresh sashimi. Refreshing desert when having it after the main. Fair price. A wonderful night.

Really good food. Have had a few different things here over the visits, but the vege patty starters were amazing.

Mains were the special vegan rice which was very flavoursome with well done rice. The other was the sweet soy beef, lots of beef, strong flavour but good, served with side salad.

They have Japanese soft drinks, these are fun.

The "Monkey brains" were incredible! Would give 6 stars if possible. All the food paired with a rice beer was just amazing.

Overall very nice food, I felt the inside did look a little bit cold/dull which may be due to the white lighting.

Premium ingredients, excellent presentation and professional waitstaff in a beautiful location in SA. Must try when in Aldgate or within the area or just drive up the hills and you won’t regret.

My new favourite Japanese restaurant in Adelaide! They serve the freshest sashimi, wonderful service and very relaxed vibe. Can’t wait to go back!

It was a nice looking place. Japanese chefs working on sushi/sashimi in the middle of the restaurant with nice display around and a good view of the town clouded in forest. Sashimi came out and it was the biggest slices I've ever seen! I mean the biggest pieces were like 2cm thick! I recommend having smaller pieces to enjoy. To add, the sashimi didn't taste that fresh sadly and fishier than most places. The tempura combination was alright.
At least the braised king fish was done well, can't say the dish was a good combo though because it just didn't feel like the flavours complimented each other. The monkey brain (yuki ball) was interesting and nice but a bit spicy. Overall, this place was alright in my opinion but the different dishes were more worth trying than the common dishes found in any Japanese restaurant.

Sapporo on tap served in chilled glasses, best flavoured Ramen I have eaten in years. Hidden gem

The food seems more like Korean than Japanese, the staff could try and be a little more friendly. I probably won't be returning given the restaurant lacks Japanese authenticity.

I hopped in for lunch as I heard this is a good authentic Japanese restaurant.
I could taste the ingredients were nice and fresh, although the style of cooking was pretty westernized. The place looked pretty short-staffed, but they were friendly and attentive.
I ordered miso soup that cost $5.5, and hoped it would be homemade based on the price, but it was instant
I would say here is still one of the better Japanese restaurants in Adelaide.

Being locals (we live 600m up the road) we have been patronising Yuki since it openned and not infequently. As a matter of fact we had lunch there on Friday.
We have lauded the restruant to all our friends.
However after tonights debarcale we have have decided it is on the banned list for six months until they get their act together. After that it had better be back to its usual service.
There were only 6 in our party and we ordered altogether. Entree then main.
The entrees came out intermittantly and I had to instruct a waitress to get my wifes entree from the bar as it was left there unattended.
The main courses came out at 10 plus minute intervals (seriuosly). The table next to us with 6 who arrived after us was served first with a plethora of food while we sat wondering what had happened to our order
The staff did not seen to care even though some of them were familiar with us
Normally we would leave a tip but not tonight and we will not revisit for six months to see if it has improved by then

Worst dining experience I have ever had. EVER! The restaurant was horribly noisy with loud, shouting kids running around helping themselves to bottles of drinks out of the fridge. The atmosphere in the restaurant was not at all Japanese as you would expect for the high menu prices on show. But it did have a very bogan cafe feel to it. We waited for nearly 1 hour for our food to start appearing. My wife got her Miso soup starter dish which was ice cold, a full 16 minutes before mine came out and her main meal came out well before my starter even arrived. The Chicken Karaage starter I did order was OK, but the main Wagyu Roll was awful. The meat was 95% raw with a very distinct bitter taste.truly terrible. I asked for a takeaway box so I could take my meal home to give to my dog. As for the staff, they were un-smiling and very scruffy looking, and there seemed to be a very young looking 10/12 year old boy working in the kitchen looking very stressed indeed. The only decent thing that came out of my meal was the 'Strongbow Cider' I ordered. I paid over $100 for this awful experience. I 100% do not recommend this restaurant. You will be better off going to the city, paying less for a much nicer time. Too exensive for what little you get. And some form of training for the staff is seriously required, as they showed me and my wife, that they simply could not be bothered. Do not waste your time and money coming here. Sushi Chain do a far better job, and much better food for a quarter of the price.

Service was efficient and friendly. Enjoyed every dish, quite a few options for lunch. Nice relaxed vibe and would come back when next in the area.

My first visit to this Japanese restaurant and found it very pleasant. Food is fresh and tasty. Staff are lovely and helpful. Suggest you book, even busy on a Sunday night.

I come here every visit to Adelaide. Yuki In The Hills absolutely nail their vibe. Incredible tasting food with a menu that updates not too regularly. Excellent customer service is easy for these guys as their staff are super friendly and informative. They know their stuff!
I’ll keep coming back here for delicious Japanese food and friendly vibes.
