Vino's Indian Dhaba

I love this restaurant and its gracious owner and staff. I usually buy takeaway but have dined in. Reminds me of some of the Indian restaurants I encountered in India in the 2000s. Not fancy decor but fantastic food. I highly recommend. This is a hidden gem for "goris", but much loved to Indian patrons for good reason. The menu is excellent, both Southern Indian and more familiar Punjabi type fare for the Aussie patrons.

Definitely the best dosa I’ve had in Adelaide. I always say I’m going to try a thali as they look great, but I can’t go past the Mysore masala dosa. The wadas and bhajis are great too. It’s not salubrious, but it feels really authentic and the service is always friendly.

Hands down the best Indian food I've ever eaten. The staff are very friendly and always thank us profusely for our custom.
Ignore the 1 star the reviews, they seem to be mainly from jealous competitors.

If you r still eating and dhaba closing is approaching. Beware, waiter (student?) will start picking up plates. If some coke is still left in the bottle, rest assured it will be picked up hurriedly. So be careful. Otherwise South Indian food is very good at reasonable cost. And like our South Indian brothers, you will be told we don’t know Hindi—talk in English.

I’ve eaten here before and the food wa reasonably good, naans we’re delish. But I have to say the ambience was horrible. The place reeked of pee. The door to the toilet was ajar and the strongest smell was lingering in the restaurant. I had to leave immediately but I’d happily return if conditions improve.

If you want to taste authentic south indian food, then this is the only restaurant in Adelaide which serves real south indian food

It feels like home, just like when we used to run behind military hotels during our childhood. This restaurant has a similar feel, and I highly recommend trying their crispy idly vada. I don't understand why some people have negative comments about the hospitality here. In my opinion, it is much better than at many other Indian restaurants in the area. It's important to show respect and kindness to the lady at the counter who has a language barrier. While it may take some patience to receive your food, it's worth the wait because everything is made fresh rather than stored. I truly enjoy the food and the overall dining experience at this restaurant.

Best South Indian and dosa in Adelaide. Great flavours and variety. Expect a 15-20 min wait but it’s worth it.

Ok everyone, this is the deal here. If you expecting worldclass service with a smile and chit chat with the staff this is not the place. But when it comes to certain food items its second to none like masala dosa and vada.
Remember this place is run by family members, things happen from time to time.
For example i was asked to use the same spoon i used for my first dish (same happens when we eat at home some time we use the same spoon. Some people might take it offensively but as I said not all are professionaly trainined and that is ok.

Food quality and quantities are not at all good, never recommend this restaurant. Very much disappointed.

Very down to earth staff and I always love their food.always 1st class experience. I go there for traditional Indian style ambience plus food.

Best for dosas, mango lassi and chai. Other food is good but not excellent. Very affordable. It's a dhaba so don't expect excellent ambience. Usually understaffed and many of the items are fresh, so you might have to wait a bit for the food and they say that as well so no false hopes.

Useless service and food at. Owner has a strange attitude too. Now with Chatkaaz outfits like Vinos Indian Dhaba will need to buck up and stop showing attitude

Worst customer service waitress and chef very rude, started arguing without even understanding the issue.chef said you come and dont come your choice, would never go back again.hygiene of the retaurant are terrible, plates likes 10 yrs old.food is ok but behaviour of the staff is terrible.very agressive waitress a d chef who could be the owner.no customer service instead insulted the customer.very very terrible, i am indian myself and the way they behaved was unacceptable.

Came here today, and recieved the worst customer service ever. I asked the service person if she could clean the table I was sitting at because it was having food particles and was dirty. The service person asked me and my friend to sit on the other side of the table instead of cleaning it. Also, we had to wait half an hour to give the order/ get her attention to us for requesting her service. I didn’t eat and left the place, as this isn’t the only place serving food and have the courtesy to clean up after someone had food at a table. Thanks.

Horrific customer service. Chef and the waitress which also seems to be the owners, insulted me and my mate when we tried to politely express that one thing in the food was stale. Very disappointed with their attitude. Won’t recommend anyone and will let everyone know about this experience. As i was shocked that how a customer could be insulted and said “if you want to come its ok or if you don’t want to come don’t”. Never in my life felt this insulted in a restaurant…… i want to say they are rude and not at all open to feedback.i wanna make sure this feedback matters. And they should get their attitude right for customers…

The food here is outstanding and excellent value. I'd recommend takeaway. The dosa was amazing along with the prawn cream curry and the chicken biryani. All 10 out of 10.

Tried for the first time, was exceptional. Great serving quantities and curries were delicious (had Mango Chicken and Beef Korma). It was ready on time (take away) and we have plenty of leftovers! We just moved to the area, glad I was able to find some great Indian:)

Food is good but Owner needs to do something about the cleanliness of the restaurant. Very shabby place to sit n eat.no tissues on any table. One single person handling orders, table serving & cash counter too.service is too too slow.
Owner needs to check on this as most of the reviews have the similar complaint.it seems the feedback is falling on deaf ears n the owner doesn't care for any improvement over this.

For someone who goes straight to the vada shop in penang street immediately after every time I clear custom in bayan lepas airport in Malaysia, I know what is a great vada and a great paper dosa. If only I can bring my fresh green chilli to go with the vada Penang style the next time I drop by. The ambience and hygiene is suboptimal but if you cant take the noise and the slow service in your stride, order Uber and deliver to your home.
