Union Hotel

Awesome location, great music from the DJ. Cocktails were ok but nothing to rave about. Overall a good place with good atmosphere. Thank you to the bouncer who waited till last minute to put our seats inside.while we waited to be picked up.

I like the union. Used to get bangers and mash and smoke inhalation here but now it's upscale. Well made food and you can get kangaroo.

Ok beer selection served by staff who are mostly happy to be there.
Foods pretty good too.
Not a bad place for a drink or a feed, just not really anything that was memorable.

Just around the corner from Rundell mall this hotel offers excellent entrees, cold beer and a comfortable place to relax with slightly upmarket decor.
We didn't try the mains, plenty of choice here, the entrees were plentiful. The two of us shared onion rings and jalepino poppers, both tasty and definitely worth coming back for.
Missed out on 5stars because there's no Victorian beer on tap or even in the fridge.

Food was excellent, good drinks options. Restaurant was quite loud had to shout to be heard but didnt spoil a good evening.

Lovely dinner. Very nice menu, something to suit everyone. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals. Lamb backstrap delicious, Salmon & steaks cooked perfectly. Good value with Entertainment voucher and happy hour drinks between 5-7 a bonus!

Union Hotel has a larger variety of tab and bottled beers. Their chicken parmigiana and the pizzas are actually quite tasty for a pub food. I highly recommend going to this pub for after work drinks especially grabbing their pizzas during their happy hour, they are pretty cheap especially on a Monday. If you ever go here try their NYC pizza, you won't regret it.

I went to a fringe show nearby & afterwards made my way to the Union hotel, probably about 9 pm. I like this hotel, I've never been on a Saturday night before & wanted to show my partner, but surprised at the lack of customers & lack of ambience. I would generally come during the week & partake in a pizza & a good after work crowd would provide a good atmosphere. The staff are generally good, there was music, food a bit pricey, but no cutomers. Perhaps I came too early or too late, perhaps it doesn't happen at this venue on a Saturday night. I suspect it's the after work crowd during the week that makes the difference, it is the CBD afterall with a plethora of office buildings on this street & close proximity. Give the weekend a miss, but I recommend you come during the week, the pizzas are not bad & reasonably priced. Cheers.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Never ate but the food looked good, well worth a visit if you in the area.

The service was OK, but I didn't see the value for money in terms of drink and food for lunch. The Friday/Saturday night club that opens up is pretty average, and again overpriced.

Very small serves and overcooked kangaroo tonight. All meals at the table were small in size.
Left the pub feeling hungry. Unlikely to ever return as my complaints to the kitchen weted never responded to.
Save your money and go to McDonald's.

Lovely beer and food. Staff were great as well. The one fly in the ointment for me was being given the wrong change by one member of staff who promptly disappeared out the back. Presume this was because I was a pom who'd be too daft to understand the currency.

Fabulous venue, great crowd and awesome DJ on Friday nights. Could have been 5 star review if wasn't for fact that security could do their job better. Dont know if thuggery and bullying is something that can be trained out of the pub culture though.

Excellent food; friendly and helpful staff; all of this let down by the extremely loud noise in dining area i.e. Wooden chair legs on stone floor, noise travelling between tables; minimal space between seating & getting out of wall seating; renovation too dark & disappointing considering original historical ambience

Food is very nice with generous serves. Service at the bar was great but the food was rather slow to come out.

Nice, convenient inner city hotel on Waymouth Street. We attended a work function in the "Bar Cuba" function room. Meals were very nice although serves were a little small. Also took a long time (about 25 minutes) to bring out all the main meals on our table. Drinks package was pretty good. Generally well organised by the friendly staff. Didn't see much of the rest of the hotel, but seemed popular.

Been coming here for ages and will be coming here for ages more. I’ll bring my kids here when I have some if they keep up the pizza quality. $7 on a Monday for some of the best pizza I’ve had is beyond a good deal; it’s revolutionary. Worth it even when it’s not cheap night. Very laid back place. The low lighting gives off nice, comfy vibes and again, the prices are very, very good. Food can take it’s time coming to the table at busy times, but I personally think it’s worth it.

I went here for Xmas drinks after work. We had a meal and a few beers. The food was good. I tried a 600 gm T-bone and it was great. Others had schnitzel and the meals were a good size and very nice aswell.
Beer on tap in tall long glasses was a hit with everyone. Could have stayed longer, but had to drive.
